Topic: Running to look
Subject: 007 Running to Look

In the field
‘I am sure all is well, but should we wait for one to come get us?' Rose whispered.

‘I think we should wait.' Newt answered.

Rose looked at Newt, ‘You can if you want to but I am going to look.' And she started to move from hiding.

Newt grabbed her arm, she looked back at him. He took a deep breath, ‘Fine lets go see but as soon as things look bad we turn and run, just as we were told to do.' Rose shook her head in agreement and the two crept from the tree line back into the field. They looked toward the hamlet and could see the roof of the Badger and Tankard Inn.

As they drew closer they saw three boys run into the barn, ‘Now what are they doing?' Newt strained his neck to see. It was but a second later a figure came around the corner of the Inn and Newt fell to the ground as Rose also ducked her head down.

The figure paused and scanned the field. Neither Newt nor Rose dare look up. After a few seconds the figure fallowed the three young boys into the barn. ‘We can go now,' Rose said.

‘No, we should have stayed where we were, but we did not.' Rose rolled her eyes as newt continued, ‘We will stay here till things quite down in a bit more.'

‘Ok.' Rose whispered. The two stayed still and watched the barn from their spot in the field. When out cam Burt leading the old mare with his own boy atop the giant draft horse. Rose and Newt stood, ‘HEY!'

Burt led the old mare out of the barn and was giving instructions, ‘Now you ride to the Cross Roads Church and ask for a healer. Tell them to come quickly. Don't say a word about the stranger or the others. Just tell them someone fell and cannot be moved.'

‘But father,'

‘HEY!' was heard from the field and the lad stopped. Burt knew he saw something and spun around and looked back into the field. Burt held the horse steady as Newt and Rose ran to toward them.
‘Newt, we need you to ride to the Church. You ride better then my own boy.' Burt helped his own boy from the horse. ‘We need a healer.' Burt helped Newt onto the old horse, ‘Remember she is old so don't push her, but do not let her take too much time.'

‘I know her well; we will be back in no time.' Newt turned the old mare and off the two went as fast as the old girl could go.

Burt continued, ‘Say nothing of the stranger or what has happen, say one has fallen and we do not wish to move them!' Newt gave an understanding node and rode off.

Burt and Rose then went to meet the others with the three boys in tow.

‘Burt what should we do, we can not leave them in the street?' Smithy asked as the five approached from the barn, ‘I see you have found Rose, what of Newt?'

‘I sent him to fetch the healer.' Burt looked at William, ‘Hey you dark one, can the two of you be moved into the Tavern so as to get the two of you off the street?'

‘I can make that move but he will have to be moved on a litter if you have one. If not I would not move him. I sliced him in a way that will rip if he is lifted.' William smiled a bit as if proud of himself.

Rose then looked up from the bodies on the ground, ‘Father? Where is my father?'

Burt took her in his arms, ‘Shhhh child, your father is in the room on the second floor. He was hit by something that has made him sleep.' Then holds her and looks at her, ‘Look at me. I need you to go to him and stay by him. Do not wake him.'

‘Do not fear child, your father only sleeps and it will pass in a few hours,' William gasped for air. Rose pushed by Burt and put a boot to the side of William. Burt quickly pulled Rose back. With a groan, ‘You kick like a mule for one so small.' William laughed.

‘I will kill you!' Rose fought to brake free of Burt's grasp.

‘You are to late little one. I am already dead I am just waiting for death to take me.' William once again closed his eyes, ‘Now fetch a litter and let me rest.'

Rose headed off to the tavern and Burt sent the boys to the barn to fetch a tabletop.

Ta-Arms had finished his bowl, a loaf of bread, and his tankard. The big man felt small in his place out of the way. He half listened as Galardil began to mumble to himself in hush whispers and quiet tones. Ta-Arms noted that Danon had not touched his bowl and as he leans in slightly to listen in on the conversation, ‘Well he is not going to eat it,' Ta-Arms whispers as he pulls the bowl closer.

When the serving wench stops by Ta-Arms motions for a second tankard and gives a smile. One by one Ta-Arms slides as many of the bowls he can manage to slip away without causing anyone distraction and finishes off the leftovers. He then places them on the floor and dog does the washing up. When the serving lady brings back his tankard, the bowls are stacked neatly on the corner of the table.

Now sipping his tankard, he contently watches the goings on.

Thank you Sir, Grugg for the wisdom.

Mal sees what is happening with the weapons in the room.

Are there any other cases not yet touched? If so whom of the party has not picked up such a weapon? This will have an effect on what Mal does.

Ta-Arms walked with his new friends, Dog at his side, sniffing the air and from time to time pausing to scan the darkness. Yet when Ta-Arms would look up in a startled way Dog would simply nose his hand or lean on his leg and Ta-Arms would feel a bit more at ease and continue on.

Once past the guard and in the small town they made their way to The Nicked Shill. Others made small chat about how strange and silent this town seemed to be. Ta-Arms had only seen army camps, towns under siege, getting ready to flee from an oncoming army. When they reached the Nicked Shill Ta-Arms and the Dog moved to the side of the door and was about to sit outside and wait until one of the others held the door open for him. He sheepishly smiled and patted the side of his leg. Dog moved in close and seemed to get lost in the shuffle of people.

They were seated and Dog moved under Ta-Arms chair or as much as his size would let him and did not move. Ta-Arms could do little more than smile from time to time and simply say, ‘Yes, please.' From time to time he would slip a morsel or two down to Dog.

All seemed calm until one of the strangers from the other end of the table slid down and spoke, "Well met, fellow travellers. I do not recall seeing you on the road, so I would think that you did not come from the west. Any news from the east?"

Dog lifted his head at the sound of a strange voice and gave a sniff and his tale thumped the floor twice before Ta-Arms simple said, ‘Leave it.' Ta-Arms and Dog sat silently hoping no one would notice him or the dog and make them leave.

We all know fighters get bonus xp for solo combat and the masters of the arcane and those of faith get bonus xp for using magic.

my question is what do masters of the shadows (thieves) get bonus xp for and how much for these actions.

Mal reached in his pouch in the little special place where he keeps such things as he needs when he needs them, "Nuts!" He holds his fingers up only to see dust and a bit of lent. "In my state I can do no more than turn a tidal pool red with my own blood." Mal begins to move back, grabbing at what feels like a bit of frostbite but burns like a branding iron, "I will not die here! I will feel the wind in my hair, hear the roar of the mighty sea, and feel the warmth of a woman." He looks at the blood on his hands, "Nuts!"

The smile was on my face all day Sunday after I was able to slow down and post. I once again thank you all for the chance to travel this path with such fine folk.

As for the dog... I would like some guidance on procedure do I add his post onto the end of mine or should it be a separate post? He does not do much but hide behind the cloaks of the arcane masters, but he has been known to bite a few who attempt to harm then. But he hangs with Ta'Arms, dog is almost as bright as his master.

"I can do something for the wound," He spoke aloud, to no one and everyone at the same time, never lifting his gaze from the injury. "but I fear I have not the means help him regain his faculties; his body and his will need to fight free of what holds him."

‘Do not waist such things on me! Keep them for those who have shown their wealth.' Ta-Arms long to be able to push away the young man of the gods. He could not hands fell upon him and if he could feel anything it was the warmth of healing. He had worth in the eyes of those around him. "Rise again warrior, with honor in your heart and vigiliance in your soul, relieved of the pain which ails you."

The conversation continued around him, ‘They speak of me as if I am still one of them. And oh what an adventure they speak of.' The half-witted man began to yell at himself, ‘Move you fool! No longer are you a pawn! You are a man!' Ta-Arms forces his feet down into the soft mud, he grips his sword as if he will never feel it again. His head looks skyward and his eyes see the trees above him! His arms lift upward and he calls out a might cry. ‘I do no fear death! For now I have meaning!' Ta'Arms stands and wipes the mud from him; he turns and addresses his friends. ‘Thank you, lead and I will fallow.'

‘I knew I should have brought a club.' Mal jests at Crow. It is then Mal is greeted by two hard blows and causes him to stubble back.

"Maybe it will make them slip and fall down...or maybe they will rust!"

Spitting up blood Mal squeaks out, ‘Do we have time for them to rust?' he chuckles a bit but the pain stopped that rather quickly.

"Seeing as the iron guards are already here, maybe now is your chance to grab that beautiful sword."

‘No thank you, not just now.' Mal attempted to ready himself. ‘Use the pummel of your swords.'

Mal looked to Wembley and realized there was no pondering going on. Wembley was scrambling up onto a cabinet. Mal moved quickly toward Wembely and reached for a leg, ‘Hey everyone! Wembley is taking to the crow's nest.'

OOC: Mal might slow down Wembley's exit as to keep all in one room until we are all on the same page or Wembley will find success and Mal simply inform the others as to where Wembley went and will fallow, Darn I wanted a better look at that sword

Mal then tapped Dudley, ‘Hey! If the golem is what causes this room to reset, what else might it cause? What if there is a bigger golem or some other thing that resets this whole place? If we find that we might brake the whirlpool we are stuck in that keeps dragging us down.' Mal then slapped Dudley on the back, ‘I like the way you think. Your god is a smart on, having a man like you in his service.' Mal then moved on to catch up.

‘By the look of things the small one who lived here left some time ago. Perhaps who ever it was, was a wonder like us. Look to the papers see if there is a map.’ Mal strolled over to the bed and gingerly fluffed the pillow and then pulled the covers back. He was looking for anything that might be of interest and something that might give a clue as to whom lived here. Such as hair clothing or perhaps even a body part. When Mal is done with his looking over of the bed this also included looking under the bed he carefully made it. He then turned and looked at the other, ‘What? At the end of the day it is nice to come to a well made bad and slip into it. It helps was away all of…’ he motioned around with his hand, ‘this.’
