Ixion

Ixion makes a quick inspection of the room as he heads for the bed.
"This'll do."
The weary man slides his pack from his shoulders and drops it onto the mattress, then begins removing his rapier's scabbard from his waist. Moments later, with his weapon lying next to his backpack, Ixion turns his attention to the Housekeeper.
"This'll do nicely. No need to have them bring up the tub, not yet anyway. I'm much too hungry right now. I'll see what I feel like after getting a bite or two to eat. Thank you."

Following the Housekeeper out of the room, the man pauses to check the security of the door's lock.
"Ma'am," he calls over his shoulder, "I do value my privacy. While I understand you may like to perform some regular cleaning of the rooms, while I'm renting Number 3, here..." he taps the plaque on the door and turns, finally heading downstairs,
(Sleight of Hand to get a gold piece out of my pocket, using the tapping as a distraction)
"I don't ever want to find that those boys have gone into my room without my prior knowledge."
He continues, flashing a grin, "I know how curious young boys can get and there are some things that are best left alone. You understand."
(Sleight of Hand to produce the coin from "nowhere")
Holding the coin out for the old lady. "And sorry for the inconvenience, I'll try to compensate."

he was not the usual townsfolk

The tall thin man who entered was slightly odd he swaggered with a cocky and confident stroll not like the locals in here the old bearded men. He wanted to approach him when he came back down as, due to his weaponry he was not shy of a fight.

Ixion Po

Upstairs in the Broken Tankard

The housekeeper's eyes widen slightly at the sight of the gold. Now you have her attention.

"Yes, my lord. Absolutely. No, I understand completely. I'll have them lashed to the tether post outside if I have to. But you will not be disturbed, lord."

She nods emphatically and curtseys out of your way once the gold is in her hand.

Torigad

The bartender falls quiet, waiting for Torigad's reply. The musicians do not. They breaK into another song, a soothing melody that coalesces into an old fight song from East Rose back during the war with Six Towers.

Torigad

Yissu looks at you in surprise.

"M'lord, it would be suicide to go alone... there could be a hundred of them! Dirty little Kobold things... only, they aren't just kobolds, if you know what I mean." He winks at you in solemn truth.

A handful more people, young people this time, rush into the tavern and take the closest table to the stage. The bartender's nose wrinkles at them, and his expression takes on an air of mirthful frustration at the teens. His eyes glaze over for a moment as he watches them, and slowly continues, watching the children enjoy the musicians.

"Their scales are a bright blue. They come in the night and steal horses, cattle, sheep, goats, whatever they can get their hands on. Small folk been takin' to keeping their one or two animals in the house with 'em. They come from the... southwest... just outside of town.

"We haven't had any troops here for about twelve years. They just up and left one day. Something about stopping a rebellion in East Rose... Anyway, since then, they haven't seen fit to return, and we've had to fend for ourselves. Precious few here left able to hold a sword, most of the youth leave once their folks let 'em go. And all manner of creatures afoot out there."

A bad idea...

Torigad shuffled in his seat and glanced at the doorway, clearly edgy now he asked for another mead and asked to be shown to his room. He moved up the stairs to the room named 4, wow he thought that was his lucky number he edged up the stairs slowly his glass shaking a little in his hand the rowdy teens had mad ehim uneasy too he now, more than ever, wanted too talk to that tall skinny man. He would go back down later for food now was the time for reflection.

He walked into his room and lay on his bed for an hour. What a mess this town had turned into since he was once the young teen although he didn't remeber having much friends it was him and his father teaching him how to survive how handy it came in and then his traits of draconic ancestry blue/black, how strange he must have destiny these kobolds will be seeked out with his fellow comrades if any are found if not now one day they will be after this relaxation and reflection period Torigad wandered back downstairs hoping for the lightly skinned skinny tall man to be their.

A new day

The Sixteenth day of Elmoth, morning
Sodgrove, southern East Rose

The evening was far more late than anyone had suspected. Torigad and Ixion, both exhausted from their recent travels, soon found themselves fast asleep in their respective rooms. Dawn comes early, and both adventurers awaken shortly after, perhaps 7:45 AM.

The smell of cooking bacon and fresh bread is on the morning air, mixed in with the normal animal and mud smells of a village.

It is lightly raining.

Ixion

Ixion saunters into the mead hall and up to the bar, taking in his surroundings and starting mental notes on the people in the room... oblivious teenagers, old drunks, musicians that are either very accomplished bards or minor sorcerers employing more magic than skill, you never can tell with elves, and one very out of place dwarf.

If he were any more twitchy you'd think he'd had a bad fix.
He let his gaze linger on one of the barmaids a moment before addressing the bartender. "Well met. I need a glass of wine and something to eat, what do you have?"

Ixion turned around, leaning up against the bar and resting his elbows on the counter. He continued eying the barmaid for a moment before the dwarf's movement caught his attention. Maybe not a bad one, just too long since the last one, he thought as he watched dwarf hustle upstairs.

"Kebabs will be fine, thank you." Ixion said, shifting his focus back to the barkeep. "...On second thought, make it the pork ribs and have her deliver the wine." he added, indicating the maid he'd had his eye on.

The man pushed off the counter and half swaggered half danced over to a near-by table. Spinning just as he neared his destination, Ixion dropped into a chair, leaned back, and brought one foot to rest atop the table in one fluid motion.

One hand rested comfortably in his lap while the other began tapping in time with the music on the leg of his chair. Ixion crossed his foot over the one already propped on the table and waited patiently for his order.

Torigad

Torigad carried on walking up to his room although he did notice the peculiar man he had noticed the night before saunter off to a table, after using his charm to some effect on the pretty, young barmaid.

It was more a pretense going up to his room he grabbed his sturdy dwarven waraxe and lightbringer leaving his two other javelins and his backpack in the room, he felt safer with weaponry after pulling the door too firmly he proceeded to walk at a fast pace down the stairs, so fast he nearly tripped but feigned it to show in fact he was picking up a piece of litter.

Torigad saw the tall fellow enjoying a glass of wine and a Kebab at the table he was sat at before and bravely decided he would sit with him, after taking a seat at the table he asked "I presume it is ok to sit with you." trying to sound confident, "i have some matters i would like to discuss." Torigad slowly put one hand on the table and leant forward slightly

Ixion - EDIT

"Discuss... with me?" Ixion couldn't help but chuckle as he remebered how twitchy and aggitated the dwarf had seemed moments ago.
"Alright. A moments rest seems to have done you well. You appeared rather.... uncomfortable last I saw you. Although you seem quite serious now. Very, uh, Dwarf of you." Ixion tied, somewhat unsuccessfully to keep a straight face for his last comments. It's fairly easy to tell he's well past his first glass of wine.

The man idly nibbles at one of his remaining pork ribs while listening to the bearded one's proposition.

Torigad

His features were broad and hardened and showed a life of hardship and work. he clearly wasn't a good speaker as he mumbled to you and you could only just make out the words. His Beard and Hair made it almost impossible to see any features apart from his hardened brow and bushy eyebrows his forehead was wrinkled not through laughter but more by frowns and sadness.

His eyes were an auburn brown so much so when you looked into them you were hypnotic by there contact and you couldn't help but hold his gloomy stare.

The hand he pressed onto was a horrid callused hand that made you cringe it was not just ugly it was repulsive so many blisters and scars, not battle scars something different you can't quite put your finger on.

His hair was Brown and matched his eyes it was greasy an dmatted by days of sweat and work he obviously isn,t a lasy man as it looks like he is hard-working and is not afraid for his hands to get dirty.

The proposition

Torigad put on a very stern face "listen very carefully stranger, I want to get a band of explorers... or adventurers to go on an expedition into the outlying areas to not only help this town but the whole continent i want to help irradicate the evil that has destroyed this once beautiful continent whatyasay?" Torigad's face changed to a forgetful expression "oh, it will be very dangerous i want to travel through the stillness"

Ixion - EDIT

SODROVE

Ixion dropped his gaze from Torigad to the dwarf's hand and shifted in his seat to put a little more space between himself and the filthy creature.

"Perhaps you should take advantage of this establishments amenities. They can bring a bath up to your room." Ixion suggested, bringing his gaze back to the stout one's eyes, a look of disgust on Ixion's face.

While the thin man's face openly showed disgust, his gray-blue eyes were empty by comparison. His raven hair, as always, was cut just short enough so as not to need fussing with and stayed off his forehead. The shape and length(barely long enough to avoid being called stubble) in which he mantains his mustache, goatee, and partial beard makes his cheeks look even more hollow than they actually are.

Ixion's attire is dark, lots of black and dark brown. Black leather breeches and boots below a dark brown, billowy shirt. Between the laces at his neck you can just make out the silvery links of chainmail. If he were out in the wilds, the dark brown hooded cape draped about his shoulders looks like it would provide decent protection against both wind and rain.

"I thank you for making this brief. We've both been on the road for a long time, so it would seem, and that kind of constant harsh environment can, in turn, make those traveling within it equally harsh.
"Your proposal is... intriguing and we should talk more of it in the morning when we are rested and refreshed." Ixion placed special stress on the last word, hinting not too subtly that his position this joint venture would be strongly influenced by the dwarf's appearance and smell the following morning.

Snowlilly

A very pale female elf in leather armor who has obviously been traveling enters with her bow and pack. She requests a room from the housekeeper.
She follows the housekeeper up to her room and goes inside.
The elf tips the housekeeper, exchanges pleasantries, and then shuts the door behind her.
She changes out of her traveling gear into a baby blue dress that matches her eyes and hugs her small hourglass figure. She combs out her snow white hair ready to down some mead.
As she walks downstairs, she fondles her hidden dagger.
when she gets downstairs she walks up to a table that appears to have travelers at it and says "May I sit with you gentlemen?"
