A little deconstruction

During the hour it takes Seluumiel to cast Identify, Chiron is going to examine the hinges of the two propped-open doors. Unless something prevents him, by the time she's done casting he will have pulled both doors from their mounting and stacked them in the corner.

I'd like to see them try to swing shut after that.

Clarification

The womanly figure, is she in the doorway or farther back into the room?

I assume the door the acid splattered is the same one that just opened. Is that correct?

going for a suspense...

the same door the woman is coming out of is the same one that has been acid burned. The woman can't be identified yet because the room is bright with light and what you all see is a sliver of a siloette.

Just to clarify

Chiron and Lacey are outside the house and Seluumiel and Xavier are still in the house. I just want to make sure I don't have that turned around before I post.

sounds about right....

but a possible alternative is that in the hit, you both twisted in the impact and landed beside each other.

to nimu- yes it was more of an assumption on my part, you in one of your posts said "lets get the hell out of here" and with Satya taking the child out of the house I assumed you would follow. Sorry if i assume too much.

ROFLMFAO The situation between Lacey and Chiron bring such a hilarious mental picture to mind, I can't help but laugh (Lacey gets flattened and as pay back plants a big one on her assailant. A knight being kissed by a drowess.)

Poor Chiron

The paladin's discomfort is only adding to the humor.

Working on a post now. Should be up in an hour.

I love it I love it I love it!

The mental image of Lacey and Chiron is just glorious. Thank you for that.

Taimat - The assumption was just fine, I just wanted to make sure I was interpreting everything correctly (too much time in PD...). Thanks for clearing everything up in the post.

Curious?

Are you curious as to what happened to lacey during her absence?......

Meanwhile, Lacey stepped into one archway and exited leaving a similar archway behind her as she wondered into a similar room to the one she left. One difference stood out. In the middle of the room was a juvenile black dragon, and between the dragon and Lacey was a little boy of about 10 years of age, pale and passed out, most likely from fright. As the dragon, which is as tall as Lacey standing but twice as long from head to tail tip, turned to see who the intruder was, she caught a glimpse of a door similar to the one she entered earlier in the room before.
With the exception of the room's inhabitants , the room appeared to be identical to the one she left behind. The walls reflected and diffused the light from the archway radiating from behind her. "I'm still in the house!" thought Lacey. She began to get the impression from the way she found the dragon facing away from her, that the black dragon was going to attempt an attack on her commrades.

Lacey drops into a formal curtsey before the dragon, "Greetings O' Noble Wyrm."

The dragon senses a new presence within the room and turns to face it, with acidic drool dripping from her jaws and an evil glare in her eyes. "Treacherous witch! I know why you are here...I know why you are all here! You will not take my prize, halfbreed! None of you will! It would do you good to leave whilst you can through the way you came, its your choice! Save yourself, or die trying to be a hero!", the hiddeous specimen of a black dragon hissed venomously."

Lacey smiles at the dragon, and speaks softly. "Halfbreed? I am no halfbreed." At this, she removes her Hat of Disguise, and tucks it into her belt to reveal herself to the dragon. "Behold my true self... not so different from thee, O' noble Wyrm, if not so grand."

Lacey gestures down at the child on the floor. "And this... this mewling thing, this spawn of man...this is your prize? 'Tis hardly fitting for thee. For sooth, I am shocked that thou wouldst allow such a thing to besmirch the very room which thou grace."

She wrinkles her nose as she looks at the child, hoping the dragon can smell the urine on the child. "It has even soiled itself. Truly this is no prize fit for a being as grand as thou art."

The dragon's expression, if you can call it that, somewhat softened toward Lacey, now Ardulace. She no longer seemed bent on destroying her flatterer.
"You may not be a halfbreed, but you are not a dragon and therefore do not know the suculant taste of human to the plain everyday taste of cattle. Now, If you prize the child more than I, we both know you cannot beat me in a fight alone, so I propose a trade. But be warned, your first offer better be your best offer, for if it satiates me not, you may not make it out of here alive. So what will it be, Drow? Will you barter or run?"

Ardulace props her chin in one hand and ponders. "Thou speaketh truly, I am not a dragon as thou well know. Yet while thou might enjoy the taste of their flesh, perhaps thou hast not spent time amongst the humans as have I, and perhaps their ways are foreign to thee. Know this, O' Noble Wyrm, the humans will come for thee and though they are small and weak, they will come in great numbers. And even as a pack of jackals might bring down the mightiest lion, so they shall assail thee...." she pauses to lend emphasis to her words, "... if they learn of thy presence here."

She gestures to the walls around her "This house, through magics of which I know little has appeared in a human realm, and as a result this child stumbled into thy domain. Let me have the child, release it free and unharmed, the humans will be appeased. If thou art able, return this house to its proper place, and thou need not endure the slings and arrows of the humans pestering thee as a swarm of gnats."

Her voice begins to grow more passionate as she continues.
"Rest assured if thou fall to the temptation of a single succulent morsel, they will come. They will come in ever increasing numbers, for they breed like rabbits and swarm like insects, as my own people know, they will come, and come again and never stop. Thou may defeat me with ease, and perhaps when the humans send more to discover my fate, thou might slay them, but more will come and word will spread. Then they will come not to free a single child, but to slay thee and steal thy treasure. The greed of the humans is insatiable, their numbers legion, and they are too stupid to know fear."

She pauses a moment, her voice now soft and soothing. "Peace. Peace will be thine if thou grant me this child, this mere stripling."

"And if thou crave not peace, if thou truly seek more flesh to devour, grant me this child and I shall return whence I came, and spread word of thee and thy glory, and the humans shall come from far and near to gaze upon thee and thou might slay them and feast upon them as the wolf upon the sheep. But know this, O' Mighty One, that road is perilous indeed for amongst the humans dwell heroes, dim of mind but strong of body, who shall come to slay thee. While the wolf may grow fat and sleek dining upon the timid sheep,he must ever beware the shepherd."

"If this is what thou crave, so be it. Grant me this child and I shall go, to remain silent or trumpet thy glory as thou choose."

"Peace?.... Peace is not a word in MY master's plans. However, my being here was a mistake, I stumbled upon this house from my home realm through a portal my master ordered built."

The dragon approaches the child and picks it up and hands it to the drowess.
"Exit post haste by yonder door to your world whilst I will exit by this portal. Quickly before I change my mind."
The black dragon does move to the side to let Lacey pass and begins slowly lumbering for the portal.
"You do what thou willst, Dark Elf. Witherist I go, My master and his legacy are the wolves there, and you are the sheep, and there are no sheapards!"

As she began to open the door, Lacey hears the raspy but feminine voice of the dragon from behind saying, "Don't worry yourself with telling your associates your story. I can do my own herolding and you...you will PAY for your intrudence!"

With that the she-dragon launches a thin stream of acid at Lacey's back. The dragon's voice can be heard fading away as she enters into the portal saying, "Pray you never see me again!"

A door knob belonging to the door furthest to the right begins to twist and the door becomes ajar. Suddenly the figure of a woman carrying something becomes vaguely visible. An omnious white glow from the back of the figure gave only a glimpse of her dark silloette. A sudden splash of acid burns at the door and a familiar voice screams out in pain.

Grammar lessons

That post took an extra like 8 hours because of the elven language lessons I ended up giving myself when translating Seluumiel's sentence out of common.

Gah. I just need to have chiron learn elven.

EDIT --- Don't mind.

I don't mind altering the post to fit you not having cast the spell.

Before we go any further though, we should pause the game and figure out how combat and contingency stuff is going to work because I received word from the DM that the spell had been cast (when Lacey said "Stay thy blade.") and I went from there.

Personally, I feel there should be almost be more activity in the Q&A thread than in the game thread. This is our place to clarify OoC stuff from the game and the more dialogue there is, the less likely we are to accidentally do something in the game world.

That's my two copper anyway.

EDIT---
My game post has been altered and Lacey's command and its effect have been removed.
