Subject: spells

Magic users @ 2nd lvl can memorize 2 1st level spells. These spells must be in your spellbook to memorize them so you will have to look at your character sheet and see what spells you have in your book. To get new spells you will have to find scrolls and then put them in your book, find a spellcasters spellbook, or you might possible find some spells for sale in larger cities. have'nt had time yet to go over everyones character to give you all the stat raises and skills but hopefully will by tomorrow.

the mages will have to rest and study to memorize the new spell. I will allow a double memorization if that is what the casters want. i.e 2 magic missles. All the party will need to rest for 12hrs to get their new Hit Points and skills. still trying to find my player's manual for how many percent thieves skills go up. will get back when have additonal info.

please feel free to write about your character's feelings at this point. It would make a good diversion while i plot out the next phase of the adventure, plus it would give your guy a little more depth and it would also be interesting to read about how you see your PC through your eyes. also explain any actions you wish to initiate before you leave the battlefield. i.e. look for treasure, study new spells, that sort of thing. thanks. Subject: throw another on the barbi.......

The rancid sweet smell of charing flesh and the gruesome sounds of melting innards combined well with the horrific sight of the undead as they joined combat with the group. Hingutulli grasped his holy symbol and a bright aura embraced him as an otherworldly voice left his lips. "Begone foul creatures! You have no place among the living!" Suddenly 3 of the zombies(1 flamming 2 not) turn stumbling and flee the group back through the flames. The other 2 are ignited and all three are eventually destroyed by the flame.
The Rat and Trillion double team as arrow and stone meet burning undead flesh helping the skin to let loose and the muscles to slide from the bone as the once undead monster is turned to a putried pile of burning entrails.
Anvil brings longsword to bear as he arc's his blade in a mighty sweep exploding anothe firebrand zombie. Burning flesh blasts out, as the creature is laid to rest, covering anvil in blood slickend flame.
T'sal, seeing no need to wait, throws her small weight behind the swing of her staff as it connects with the head of the remaining zombie assaulting the party. Bone shards and brain matter cover Trillian and Rat in a shower of red as the foul thing is destroyed.
The last 2 zombies that have been resurected twice only manage to make it to the wall of flame before thier previous injuries and the burning elemnet take over and bring both down.
Silence.....
only the crackling of the flames can be heard.
Muffin and Sprinkles brighten up now that the unholy beings are dead for good.
The smell is suffocating but hope blooms as the sun starts to break the horizon. Slowly the landscape comes into view and the party feels a slight pang of loneliness as the absolute of their isolation comes into focus. Just the group of blood spattered adventures and the burning remains of nightmare. A new day has begun.
Everyone gains a level!!! welcome to level 2 guys. Just want to say thanks to all of you I'm really enjoying this.

P.S. your characters need a bath.

2. if anyone close enough to him is in trouble he will discharge the ring again
3. if wight gets close he will smash with staff
4. if the #'s get overwhelming that are approaching he will produce a wall of thorns to slow down as many as he can
5. if none of above are needed he will dicharge ring at nearest wight.

The appearance of the Arrowhawk lifted his spirits greatly. "You are with me!" he shouted into the air as the bird attacked the wretched undead creatures. Surveying the battle field he took stock of the situation. "Now my pretty trinket, it is time for you to go to work." with that he lifts his fist and prepares to unleash the massive force of the Ring of the Ram.

are these undead solid ie/ like a zombie or are they more ghostly in nature ie/ pass through walls? if they are solid us 2 with the staff of the woods can bring forth a wall of thorns to slow them down. what do y'all think about putting an arrow in any of the other people close to us that are close to death to keep them from becoming spawn?

This is going to be rough. personally i think we should all try to join up with the remaining clerics. That way us holy men could continually attempt to turn the wights while the rest attack the few that don't flee or maybe get to strike when their backs are turned. just a thought any other suggestions?

Cunning Fox will switch to his staff and summon a creature for defense, he will then try to stay close to othergroup members in case anyone needs healing and switch back to his bow if able to stay out of close combat if not he will retain his staff as his weapon.

Subject: the cost of life

Tears flowed freely for his eyes as Cunnig Fox again released an arrow to seek out life...... and take it. his soul hurt. Never before had he seen such a waste. Killing for the sport of others made him sick. But it was not for him to question, the great Thunderbird had brought him to this accused place for a reason. He had to believe that or else he would just give up.
Nothing in his previous life prepared him for this hellish existance he was now a prisoner to.Such strange and yet astounding creatures, he felt shamed for have to slay them, but kill he must and kill he would for he thirsted for the knowledge and possible favor he might gain from the Thunderbird if he did survive and make it back to his people.
As he prepared for the next wave he felt his staff and marveled at the beauty and the awsome power of this new world. so much to learn but so much death.
he raises his head try to seek out the unknown viewers of his morale struggles "AT WHAT COST...LIFE?" he screams in to the air. He then puts up his bow and takes the staff in hand. "Magic stick send me a creature." he says as he summons some help before the next wave.

to hit 1d20
damage depends on your weapon. due to the slow nature of the zombie the group will be able to change weapons before attacking.
saving throws are made on 1d20

Subject: Fire in the hole!

As the flames take hold of the stacks of wood and the oil smudges the night sky with it's heavy black smoke, the slow march of the twisted horde brings them into view. Arrows, stones, and bolts greet the walking dead as the remains of 11 dead orcs still in armour come upon the party. Some of the projectiles find there mark as 2 of the attrocities hit the ground and another 3 burst into flame but continue to approach.
Soon thereafter the come upon the small wall of fire. No hesitation can be seen in their blank expressions as they stumble forward through the flames. The fire spreads out and 4 more become walking candles but still they do not stop. The constant missle fire from the group drops 2 more of the flame kissed dead and 1 gives up the ghost as the flames melt it's flesh causing it's tendons to pop and it's intestines to sizzle as they plop down on the ground.
They are still coming and are now getting into close combat with the party, Some dripping melted flaming fat as the the intense heat and noxious smell of charing flesh assault the group. Battle must now be truly joined as the group braces itself and prepares for hand to hand combat with it's undead foe.
As the 6 remaining Zombies attack the group T'sal dilligently on the lookout spots another fiqure just beyond the flames. A strange hunched fiqure in black and purple robes wielding a small black rod has aroused the 2 previously slain zombies and they rise up again with arrows still protruding from their dead skin. It's only a few seconds of time as T'sal tries to comprehend what she has seen and the fiqure slips back into the darkness.

the party has the initiative i need to know who has what and whos doing what to go on from here i will also need everyone to roll to hit and damage #'s and also give me a saving throw # as well. I'll explain that in the next combat post.

fire is an excellent weapon against most undead, most anything really. remember Braveheart? having the arrow on fire would probably inflict 1 to 2 additional points of damage and may cause a creature to become engulfed in flame.

there is some firewood in the bunkhouse. it's cut small for the stove. If i was y'all i'd build a few small fires out of that say at 25' and maybe 2 at 50'? these are small say 10" split pieces of wood that are dry and should light quickly. anyone have greek fire? or maybe light them in a semi-circle around you?
