Subject: A Vow is Made
After the two are seated and comfortable Xour will order himself some strong coffee and whatever Brianna wants then the ranger settles in to listen to the fantastic tale that this warrior woman had to tell.
He listens intently as she talks about an evil so great as to be almost unconceivable. He listens as she tells him that she is not from his world and about a great battle fought against this evil and the destruction of what must have been a great artifact of magic and how it's destruction had brought her and her friend into his world and possibly even the great evil she had been battling at the time.
Xour had often heard that there where other worlds besides his own and had often wondered what these worlds might be like, and now he meets someone from one of these worlds and finds out it doesn't seem to different than his own. The same battle of the good against those of evil seems to be a constant.
He can see in this woman an obvious sadness for the friends she has lost in this battle against this dark one but he can also see a quite determination to make sure this evil is stamped out no matter which world it now resides in. As he listens to her talk he can almost feel the great sacrifices she has made in order to try and stop this evil from spreading and to Xour there could be no greater quest one could set themselves on. So even before her tale is complete he has made up his mind as to what he would do next, and when Brianna is finished with her tale Xour will speak his mind to her and let her know how he feels.
I must first tell you my lady that the sacrifices you have had to make in order to pursue this quest has almost left me speechless, I do not believe I have ever met one whose convictions where so strong and whose willingness to do what must be done in order to do what is right could not be shaken. There are many who start out strong but when the time comes for real sacrifice falter in their convictions.
Then looking across at her he reaches out and taking her hand in his he looks her in the eyes
So here and now I Xour make this vow to you, as long as there is life in these limbs, breath in this body, and strength in these arms I will stand at your side, I will watch your back, I shall accompany you to the ends of this world or any other to help put this evil to rest
Then while still looking at her he says in a more subdued manner That is if you will have me.
Xour then lets go of her hand and feeling just slightly uncomfortable at his release of emotion grabs his cup and finishes his coffee as he waits for a response from Brianna.

Subject: Does this adventure continue?
OOC: A slight back post here
BIC:
When it was brought to their attention that afternoon that rooms would be avaiable that evening Xour would search out the correct person an obtain a small single just to have a place to splash down when he needed to.
Drinking himself into a partial stupor trying to keep up with Highnar when he finally feels like he can take no more he bids his friend a good night with a slap on the back that he almost misses with and sends Xour slightly staggering so with a large smile on his face he slurs a good night to any still left. Then taking stock of himself he striaghtens up and with a deep breath strolls at least without staggering to the room he had got for himself. Once inside he flops down onto the bed and without any fuss drops off to sleep.
Waking in the morning with only a slight pounding in his temples he rolls over and pours the contents of his water oitcher over his head to help wake himself up. Then standing and shaking the water from his hair like a canine would he sits down on the edge of his bed.Digging into his pack he produces a bone comb with it it carfully combs out his locks
Once he feels ready he goes down to the dining area to fetch himself some breakfast and see if anyone else is around.
Looking around it seems that only Brianna was down and looking for some breakfast. So he strolls over to her and asks if she would like company. Well it's good to see you have also survived a night of drinking with our bottemless friend. I don't know how well you feel but I am looking for just a light breakfast of some strong coffee and some bread and cheese. Maybe we could grab a table together and talk a moment about what comes next in this quest.
Xour leaves it at that as he grabs a couple of chairs and he holds one out for Brianna to sit, and if she does he will swing the other one around so the back faces the table and he will sit with his arms crossed across the top of the chair back and his chin resting on his arms. Waiting for a waitress so they can order and he and Brianna can talk.

Subject: A New Crisis
So it seems that the strange creature has in some way become a part of their group whether they wanted it to or not. Thor was not totally comfortable with the strange being running along side of them but for now there seemed nothing he could do. The party breaks camp and heads out following the directions given to them by the ring which should be leading them to their destination.
After riding for awhile the party finds themselves riding across an open field no longer able to hide themselves in among the trees. Once they are out in the open Thor being an avid rider and being quite comfortable with his mount Lighting will at once start to ride with his one weapon out and in hand. That would be his war ax. He can ride easily with his weapon in hand. For he has trained to do so for as long as he has been training.(ooc: only if our DM allows this but I don't think it that far out that a warrior would learn to ride with one weapon or even two out . Let me know Thanxs.)
Bic:As the group rides through the open land they come to the top of one of the many dips and rises in the land to see in the distance a group of about a dozen riders. Since there is no place to hide the party continues to ride in the direction that they where watching to see what the other group does. As the two parties approach within hailing distance Their group pulls up, the other group starts to spread out as the approach which to Thor is not a good sign of a friendly encounter. The group stops about 100 yards at which point they can get at look at them. They appear to be human or at least semi-human They all appear wild, warped or disfigured in some strange fashion. Then one of them walks his horse a step or two out from the others. And attempts to speak to them in broken common.
“What do you here?” “This area is forbidden to lowlanders.”
but before anyone in the group could even start to answer him his eyes widen in surprise and he starts pointing towards the back of their group yelling out one word.
KRATUS
With that word the rest of the riders at once pull weapons and charge yelling and screaming strange unrecognizable battle cries
BIC:With two of the riders bearing down on him Thor takes defensive action spurring his horse and getting out of the way and both of his attackers miss wide. With them now pass him he swings into action. Being very adept at riding and fighting having good riding skills and having ridden and fought with his war horse Lighting for quite some time they knew each other rather well. As soon as the two attackers thunder past him he swings Lighting around so he is facing the two riders backs that just passed him then he quickly switches his war ax to his left hand and picking out the rider who is still closest to him and hopefully riding mainly straight away he pulls and hurls his throwing ax at the riders back and the horses rear hoping to either strike the rider true in the back or at least damage his horse with an ax in the A$$.
After hurling his throwing ax Thor prepares himself for a tough fight from the saddle of his horse. Making sure his feet where snug in their respective stir-ups and he had a good grip with his legs and knees he places the end of his bit and bridal rope between his teeth and then pulls his morning star so now with his war ax in his right hand and the morning star in his left he takes to charging after the two who had attacked him

Subject: A strange visitor
The traveling over the last five days has gone quite well it seems that the amulet given to Siliwen has kept the Shelnak from hunting us down and the days pass by rather quickly as we make our way to the grey mountains.
Then on the sixth night we are all awakened by the arrival of a stranger in our camp.As Thor awakes and grabs his weapon he hears Siliwen speak to the figure that has appeared.Although it doesn't answer her it appears that this alien looking creature may be the one Alacran had told us he would be sending only because it is wearing the same kind of amulet around it's neck that Siliwen is wearing.
Not wanting to act rashly but also not wanting to let his guard down and be taken by surprise Thor gets up and with his weapons in hand first makes a quick sweep of the perimater of their camp and if all seems clear he will move over by Siliwen and speak with her.
So what do you think even though it did not answer your question it looks like it's waiting for some kind of command, do you remember what exactly it was Alacran said this help would do for us?
With that he waits with his weapons out untill someone can either answer his question or this creature makes knowen why it is here.

Subject: A toast to Friends
After he makes his choice of items Xour will migrate towards the bar area where Highnar and Brianna are now drinking. Grabbing a stool near the two he grabs the bar tenders attention and at once orders a round for the three of them. Hey bar man could I get some drinks down here I need a pint of your best dwarven brew for myself and bring these two whatever it is they have been downing.
Then waiting for his brew to arrive he will raise his glass in a toast to his two friends. While we are here and have a moment of peace, which I must say Brianna seems to come few and far between since I joined with you, I would like to propose a toast of sorts, “To two new friends who have slightly corrupted this ranger by showing him there is more out there than hiding out in the woods, and that there can be some enlightenment to be found in the confusion and insanity that one calls city life.” He then puts the pint to his lips and in one fluid motion downs the contents of his pint. Putting down his glass he wipes his mouth with his left sleeve, and quickly orders up another round.

Subject: A Horrible Sight and a site for sore eyes.
As they race across the open fields that will take them to the forest they seek Thor just as the rest of them can't help but look back and what he sees doesn't help fill him with confidence, for if they had been there without warning the powerful forces he was now watching in combat with Alacran would have probably wiped them out rather quickly. He is not sure of this for he knows they would have given it their best but the Shelnak surely look rather awesome.he watched as great gouts of some red power are being flung at Alacran which he deftly knocks aside all the while he is concentrating on bringing awesome lighting bolts to strike at the heart of the Shelnak wedge.
As he watches over his shoulder and starts to feel like he is running away from his duty he hears Alacrans voice like he was there with him speaking to him, Do not turn from your path,” this foe is beyond your power. Flee and stay on your mission… never fear.. I will survive this as this Master is not so formidable… I will send you another ‘companion’ later whose purpose may not be clear but he will aid you I am sure … for I have been preparing him for this mission while waiting for your arrival…. Good luck my friends… keep heart and never doubt your ability.”
With that Thor turns back to the front and with a new determination spurs “Lighting” on.
When they do reach the woods they slow but keep up a steady pace wanting to put as much distance between them and their pursuers. After awhile however it becomes obvious that their mounts are tiring
and will need to be rested and soon. then as if their needs are granted they find a small area which is big enough for a small camp. So without a word as if they are reading each others minds they all stop and dismount, and as one there is a sigh of relief. Looking around at the others Thor can tell they are all tired and in need of some rest. I think we could all use some rest as well as our horses, but we also need to keep a watch. I hope that we may be able to find some water nearby also. Riddle maybe you and Billy could take a quick look around and see if you can locate any water, but I wouldn't stray to far. The two ladies could start to rest and I will keep watch over the area for now. then if we find water we can gather some for us and then water our mounts before we start out again.

Subject: On the Move Again.
As the group listens to Alacrans story about being a left over from the first party brought here to fights against this dark one and how they where able to be tracked because of the power they held, a lot of what had happened since they arrived at this place started to kind of make sense. At least the why them it kind of made sense, bring in people that the other side would least expect and hope that there being able to surprise, compensates for any other short comings they may have.
He wonders if them running into Anya first was just a piece of bad luck or if that whole thing had been orchestrated since it was known where they originally landed. Anyways once Alacran told them that they had been easy to track because of their power he knew at once that Alacran would not be able to travel with them, then the mage made the same known to the group.
At least he did have some items which would be helpful to the group. he gave them a liquid that would counteract the Nas'air poison, the amulet that would shield Siliwan from them following her because of the mark, and finally a magnificent ring that would help them by pointing the way to this stone they needed to destroy.
Then just as they were deciding they should leave at once before a new attack happened while they waited here, it seemed they had waited to long. Alacran gets up saying
“My presence here along with your absence to the Dark One’s minions will no doubt draw another attack here and…” He paused and turned his head towards the window. “It comes already.” “You must gather your things now,” “you have only a few minutes.. HURRY!!” Grasping his staff tightly he steps out of the Inn leaving the group standing or sitting stunned in the common room.
But not for long, Thor is glad he always practices the “Fighters Motto” Be Prepared  so ever since he had gone out to see his horse the first time he had his belongings in his pack and his pack with him, so he was ready and only needed to get to the stables and get his horse “Lighting”. He follows Alea as she heads for the back door since he had just come that way from the stables he knows that offers them the best cover back to the stables. When Riddle suggests that maybe they leave their horses behind he is about to voice an objection but Siliwen beats him to it. However he is not sure that tying brush behind the horses will cover their tracks since it looks like they will be riding through at first grassy field till they reach the woods then along side them he thinks pulling something behind the horse might actually make their trail wider and easier to follow it's not like they are riding through dirt or sand.
He doesn't really say anything one way or the other he just climbs on his trusty horse leans forward pats her on the neck and whispers into her ear we must ride fast but steady my friend there will be no trail so do your best and find us the easiest one and try to lead us to a stream or river. Thor has always talked to his horse in this manner, though he has no idea if she understands anything he says at all, but he has found that talking to her has always seemed to help so he does it.
So they are off headed at an angle to where they are supposed to head in an effort to throw off any who might try to follow. They head quickly across the field towards the closest woods then once there use the trees in an effort to shield themselves from being spotted they move as rapidly as the landscape will allow them to.

Subject: A Whole New Ball Game.
OOC: I ask for forgiveness for this post may be full of misspelled words and bad grammer but I must leave for work asap and will try to correct these things tonight but I wanted to get the post up.

BIC:As the talk around the table goes on more and more things come out and as they do more things become confusing, at least at first. Thor interjects his questions at the times he feels proper and watches Alacran each and every time he speaks, and he can not see any deception in the man at all.
When asked as to how Siliwan may have been marked Alacran gives to them how the Shelnak would have to do it, As to how you were marked,” Alacran begins, “it is a spell ability of the Shelnak or even of one of the Dark One’s agents and it would have to be done with close proximity.. A few feet at most.
When Alacran asked if the old woman Thor spoke of lived in a hut in the middle of a grove Thor saw no reason not to answer As a matter yes she did live under such conditions.
Thor listens closly to what followed first about the Shelnak “The Shelnak are tall thin humanoid type creatures with hairless bodies of dark oily looking skin. They have slits for a nose and a lipless v-shaped slit for a mouth. They draw upon a natural perverse and dark magic and alone they are not very dangerous, but in groups they can band together and channel their power through the strongest of them making them a very formidable adversary.” but then when Alacran exposes Anya as an agent of the very thing they have been sent to destroy it is a shock to all present. Anya, well at least I know where you received your mark. “She is an agent of the Dark One,” “she may have seemed nice and even helpful but she is no healer though she has such powers to aid in her deceptions. No doubt she marked Siliwen and then set the Shelnak upon you.”
As the group tries to take in this new news that the only one they thought was helping them was acctually an agent for this Dark One Alacran tried to show them he is trying to help them he looks at everyone in the group with concern clearly written on his face. After a moment of silence Alacran continues You may not wish to believe it but this Anya woman is not to be trusted,” “anything she had done for you is to earn your trust so that she could mark you and lure you into a trap.”
Alacran then finally gives up his final secret that will bring the party into his trust, “I know why you are here, “I know of the agent that arranged for you to be selected and brought here. I also know that you were told to trust no one, unless….” At this point Alacran ,he holds out his hand and shows then the back of it, there they can see faintly in the sunlight the same glowing symbol that each of them has upon their hands.
When he does that at once Thor remembers what he had heard durning his being transferred or teleported whatever it was he clearly remembers this “Upon the back of your right hand you will bear a mark,” tbis mark will be bore only by those of your group. Trust no one who does not bear this mark.”
He at once turns to Alacran and the others in the group. First I must say Alacran if you knew this why did you not just show us in the first place why the trust games? That said I must belive that the power that brought us here would be able to mark us so that the evil powers he wants us to fight here would not be able to duplicate it or the very idea of marking us would make no sense. Thus with Alacran being markes as we are I would suggest that at least for now if he agrees that we should vacate this place as fast as we can now that Siliwan's mark is blocked. I also would hope that at least to start Alacran would accompany us and hopefully be able to start us on the right path since whatever Anya has told us is probally leading us into a trap. With that he waits for the others as well as Alacran to respond to his idea of him leaving with them right away.

Subject: A mental showdown, questions,questions,questions
As they sit around the table and the party continues their talk with Alacran Thor can't help but smile to himself when Billy speaks his mind on the whole subject. If there is one thing he has learned about the barbarian he knows Billy will not mince words the big guy always speaks his mind.So when he tells Alacran how he feelsI assume you brought the healer and from the look of the gem that exchanged hands she does not work cheaply. I aapreciate the sacrifice and gesture. However I believe you are a mage not a healer, is that correct?""As such, you have not earned my trust but at least I will say I no longer distrust you." Thor knows he is speaking for at least one other party member, who right now thinks it is better to keep his true feelings about the mage to himself untill he can at least prove or disprove his uneasy feelings.
Right now however Thor is interested in the conversation between Siliwan and Alacran and one question she has asked in particular. I also would wish to know how I was marked so and how I or any of us could prevent being marked this was in the future.
Upon Siliwan asking this Thor will himself at once speak up.
Yes, yes Siliwan, that is a very good question one I hope our new mage friend can answer for us, for I am also very interested in knowing the answer to that . We do know from our conversation with the old woman, he will deliberitaly avoid using her name, that these Shelnak he says has marked you are magic users of some type, when she told us of the fiends we would encounter on our journy, I remember she said this about the Shelnak ( “The worse are the Shelnak… they are tall thin creatures who are very powerful in natural magic. They fight in small groups and channel their magic into one of their group and make him very powerful.. beware this group and if you encounter them remember to try and disrupt the group.. scatter it and you can break their power.”)
[everything that follows here is only what Thor is remembering he does not voice any of this just yet.
After he mentioned what they had been told he thinks to himself about what happened after they left the city Although we where never told what these creatures look like, the only mage that he can think of that they have run into outside of Alacran here was in the woods while fighting the wolves just before they arrived here, maybe that was one of those Shelnak because it was after that battle that Siliwan seemed to truely have her first attack with that vision of her mentor, he remember's Billy's description of what he saw that night appeared to be naked with dark black oily skin, there didn’t appear to be any hair on it anywhere, it’s head had a ridge that ran down through the top from front to back, and it’s face had two eyes, two slits where it’s nose should be and a lipless v-shaped mouth. So is that what a Shelnak looks like and could that have been when they marked her?]
So as far as we know we have not met any of these Shelnak do you have any idea how she could have been marked could they do this from a distance or would they have to be close at hand? Also could you tell us what these Shelnak look like? Would we be able to recognize one if we encountered it? and last could any of us be marked by them?
Thor knows he asks a lot of questions at once but he would like to hear what Alacran knows while the other things he is thinking are fresh in his mind. He feels the answers to these questions are important to keep this party safe, and he means to do that at all costs.

Subject: Dwarven Stubborness.
As Thor stands with the group at the back of the inn they watch Alea watch things unfold inside the store room. When finally three figures emerge two supporting a third man between them and this man looked to be the once dead Inn keeper. When Billy moves forward into the inn Thor stays right on his heels to make sure he is present if this is some kind of trick or trap.However when Billy entered and advanced towards Alea with the others right behind him they hear Alea address Billy “Be at peace, the Barkeep was healed by a Priestess of Corellon Larethian.”
Well the idea that a healer was present and had brought the bar owner back was a relief to the dwarf for that meant no dark magic was afoot and if Alea could recognize and the healer was of the same god as her there was no reason to disbelieve what they had seen. This put Thor at least somewhat at ease, for the dwarf was seldom at ease.
He watches when Alacran asks them to please stay where they are and to give him a moment and he and the cleric go through some elaborate departure ritual Thor often wondered if these types of things where always necessary or if they just like putting on big displays. Anyways after an exchange of some items and the vocalization of some elven the Cleric goes on her way at that point Alacran walks over to them Well… would you like to go and set down and talk? or are you still not willing to trust me?” Siliwen responds Yes, I would like to sit down and talk with you. As for trusting you, that is something that is earned and I feel now that we can trust you for what you did for the innkeeper.”
As some of the others agree Thor just shakes his head and follows the group into the common room where the seat themselves around the largest table. Once seated it is Siliwen who picks up the conversation with Alacran. “ I will not ask for forgiveness for my lack of trust earlier. I am sure you are wise enough to understand my unwillingness to trust in those circumstances
she continues Now, I would now like to accept your help in removing that ark from me that you say draws these evils to us.”
Thor watches Alacrans face and body as this conversation between Siliwen and himself goes on. Not that he is any genius in deciphering facial or body language but he likes to watch for even the slightest little thing that may give a persons real feelings away, a slight smile at an inopportune time, or a poker face when one is not needed hiding ones real feelings, Thor has played some intense poker games in the past.
He just can't help himself. Even though it seems like every thing has come out looking and smelling like roses, as the saying goes, or at least Alacran has come out that way for it seems that he has now won the trust of the rest of his party, but for some reason Thor just can't shake the uneasy feeling that the party has been duped by some elaborate set-up. Maybe it's just his Dwarven stubbornness showing through he does not know. What he does know is that he shall continue to be wary and be on the lookout for anything that in the least bit looks to be out of line out of the ordinary
he shall keep himself on high alert and hopefully without drawing to much attention to himself he will try to stay on the periphery of the group, kind of on the outside looking in. Right now however he will stay where he is and listen to all that the others have to ask and all that Alacran has to answer to try to catch any inconsistencies in what he is saying to the group.

Subject: Still Pickin
So as it goes the items are being picked up I believe in the order that Dragonmistress posted from what he has watched be taken it looks like only the gold and ruby ring was taken by Logan before my pick comes around I think as well as the ring of evasion, by Brianna, so as far as I can tell the Amulet of Natural Armor +2 is still out as well as the Brass Mug set with Dark Green Jade so if they make it to me I will take them.

Subject: Strange going on's.
Going out to see his horse Thor is meet by the stable boy and taken to Lighting. The horse looks real good and is in good spirts, Thor spends a couple of minuites rubing and talking to his horse. Then as he decedies to head back towards the inn he gets to the stable door just in time to see what looked like that mage they had just encountered inside along with another robed figure sneaking around the inn and towards the back door. Thor found this to be very suspusious for the man just made a big deal about leaving. As he is making up his mind what to do he then sees Alea followed by Billy move around to the side of the inn where the two had just went around they stop and look and then continue on.
Thor decedies to go over to where they are and find out what is going on so he runs up to the side of the inn moves to the cornor and himself peeks around to see what is happening. It looks like Alea is going to go in the back door so Thor quickly moves up to where she and Billy are standing and quitly makes his presence known Billy do you know what is going on here?

Subject: Funny Dwarf and some New items.
After the spectical of Highnar and the stone horse Xour goes back inside to finish picking out what he is interested in.
ooc: not sure where my turn is for choosing so I will once again just post what I want and if there are any objections please post them Thanxs.
bic: He picks up the one Amulet that he was told was of Natural protection and would add to his magical protections while in battle and help keep him from being hit and hurt durning battles. The next thing he is after is the ring that someone called a ring of Evasion,
(ooc:Evasion
This ring allows the wearer to avoid damage as if he or she had the evasion ability. Whenever the wearer makes a Reflex saving throw to determine whether he or she takes half damage from an attack, a successful save results in no damage)
bic: He will pick up this ring and place it on the middle finger of his left hand. Then finally for a little show the once very drab somewhat boring woodsman reaches into the hoarde of shiny babules and takes out a brass mug set with dark green jade stones from which he will now drink his ale and he then grabs a large gold ring set with an even larger red ruby. Very gaudy this ring he will place on his right hand for now. Being happy with his acusistions he will move off and try to find Highnar at the bar where he will order himself a ale to be placed in his new mug he must break it in.

Subject: loot still needs explaining to dense woodsman.
OK still in confusion about this armor thing "I'M SORRY but when you said that Quote Natural Armor is the only thing that layers with a Ring of Protection or pluses on Magic Armor. did that also mean that the Amulet of Natural Armor +2 are considred natural armor and thus would stack with my ring of protection +2.
Please let me know so I can get on with all this thanxs You

PS: the addition of the +2 amulet would raise my AC to 21 how nice.

Subject: Thor's Distrust and remembers Something.
Starting with a short back post, Riddles post “Trustworthy I Think Not”
When Riddle comes in from outside Thor is interested to hear from him what he has found if anything and as the others sit at the table with this Alacran, he will move over to where Riddle and Billy are conferring, when he hears that there are no extra footprints and that the area seems to be silenced he also starts to have his doubts about this newcomer and what his real motives are.
Moving back to the main table where they are all sitting he watches as Riddle takes a seat right next to the mage, Thor will seat himself more across the table where he can keep a watch on Alacran's face as he listens to the tale and as speaks back to them trying to watch for any signs that he is lying to them.
Post for actions after Alacran does his little enchantment and brings forth the s symbol on Siliwan.
After Alacran does his little show on Siliwan Thor can no longer sit in silence he must speak his mind.
Finishing off his glass of ale he slams the mug down on the table and looking right at Alacran speaks, I know that we are all grateful for your help in diffusing the situation we found ourselfs' in when you entered, however how are we to know if it was you who put us in the very situation just so you could show up and be our savior, what better way to try and gain our trust. Now I am not saying that is what happened but you ask a lot from a group who have met few who want to help them. Also I must agree with the others as far as this mark goes how do we know it was there and you did not just put it there, we have not run into any of these Shelak so when did they mark her?
Turning to Siliwan Thor speaks again Since it is you that must truly make this decision and put your trust in this man I can tell you that I will stand with you no matter what your decision is we have been joined together and together we shall stay.
After speaking he watches as the others make known their feelings and Siliwan makes her decision however at one point when she asks Alacran questions about the Shelak Thor can't help but interject for he remembers what the old woman had told them about the Shelak Siliwan if you recall back to our conversation with the old woman Anya.” she warned us about the Shelak before we set off, if I remember he words where “The worse are the Shelnak… they are tall thin creatures who are very powerful in natural magic. They fight in small groups and channel their magic into one of their group and make him very powerful.. beware this group and if you encounter them remember to try and disrupt the group.. scatter it and you can break their power.” So we know they are magic users of some type but it would seem they usually travel in groups using one of their kind to channel there powers.”
Once Alacran leaves Thor finishes his meal and another ale leaning back in his chair he wishes there was some way he could help in this matter bur as usual when it comes to magic and mages there is little insight he can offer ,if there was only someway they could speak with the old woman Anya.” again she would know about this Alacran and if he could be trusted.But he knows of no way they could contact her or in any way get back to her. She would have the answer he is sure of that.
Before he decedies to prepare for their departure he speaks with Siliwan once more.
i am truly sorry that we could not be more helpful in this matter but the words of the old woman keep ringing in my ears that we must trust in ourselves and in each other, and that is what I will continue to do.
with that Thor will go back to his room to gather all his stuff and then go down to the stables to check in on his horse Lighting he rubs the stallion on hid neck while he talks to his horse as he always does when he is in a quandary and not sure what to do, talking to Lighting always helps him.

Subject: Sorry all but I am back.
OOC: Once again I find I must apoligize for my absence. My entire system crashed and i have been without for almost two weeks the withdrawel has been intense. however with the help of some friends I have gotten a new system and my internet back so hopefully this won't happen again anytime soon.I Thank you all for being patient and I must say that our DM did handle Thor for me pretty well as you will see in my following post. Which will be up around 8am tuesday.Once again thanks for keeping me in the game.

Subject: Murder in the room common.
As things in the common room start to move faster than Thor would like and the crowd there keeps growing and getting more vocal, with at least one person trying ti incite the room full of people
One man, a warrior by the looks of him walks over to the doorway, he turns back to the room and remarks, “The door is still barred from the inside.” Everyone in the room can see that the windows shutters are still drawn and barred from the inside.
“She killed him,” someone whispers from near the stairway.
“We should hang her,” Someone else remarks.
Thor now standing in the middle of the room with Riddle and Siliwen listens to the crowd and then responds to them , all the while trying to get Riddle and Billy to get Siliwen away from the body and hopefully back upstairs at least for now.
You are quite correct sir the door is still barred as are the shutters so that means that the killer probally did not leave by either of those ways and may then still be here and could be anyone here in this room or still upstairs. From feeling the body it is apparent this man has been dead for awhile for he is cold, and was not just killed by this little woman. So I suggest that everyone goes back to their rooms and we let Karl here handle this in the proper manner.
Turning to Billy Billy see if you can get Karl and the Innkeepers wife to go back into the kitchen and then see if you can find out from Karl what their proceedures are for something like this, who is in charge of cases like this. Riddle you and Alea try to get Siliwen back upstairs calmed down and cleaned up , and I will do what i can to resolve this mystrey. Then pulling both Riddle, and Billy close to him before they set about their jobs he whispers quitly to them
try to get this area cleared out so I can see about possably setting up an escape if for some extream reason we need to.

Subject: A Killer on the Loose?
So after they partake of a good hot meal and they decide that staying together is a good idea as is a watch even if they are in an inn Thor feels much better about the rest of the night hopefully passing by uneventfully. They ask about rooms and are shown two nice rooms at the end of the upstairs hall. Theses two rooms seem perfect since the windows can be barred from the inside and by setting a chair out in the hall one can easily watch both doors to see if anyone comes or goes. So they take the rooms and get ready for the night. with Siliwen and Alea in one room and Thor, Billy, and Riddle in the second there should be no problem and since a watch of two hours each covers 8 hours it is decided that Siliwen need not watch and could sleep all night to get her strength back.
OOC: Now since I am posting last and late again it seems this probably won't make any difference, and I also want to say something and I don't know if any of you will believe me that what I am about to say here is not in reaction to what the DM has posted about Alea , but would have been a concern as soon as we got our rooms and set up who was sleeping where, and then who was keeping watch and when. It becomes very obvious that when Alea takes her watch that Siliwen will be left alone in her room. Now since the attacks on Siliwen where coming in both the physical and either mental or illusionary forms that there should be someone with her at all times, because even with the window barred from inside and the outside door being watched , and we already at least think the last attack by the wolves was the work of a wizard anything could happen in that room with no one else to watch.So Thor would have suggested that either Riddle stay with Siliwen while Alea watches or he would suggest he take the final watch and let Alea stay with Siliwen. However that is probably a mute point now. and once again I would like the group to know this is not a reaction to the post but is what I would have suggested even before I saw the DM's post. Sorry I will try harder to stay on top of my posts.
BIC: When he is awakened in the morning by the screams of a woman Thor's first reaction and thoughts go to Siliwen and Alea in the room across the hall. Grabbing his weapons and dashing out of his room and directly across to the other room he busts in only to see that there is no one in the room. Quickly rushing back out as he hears another scream this time he can tell it is coming fro down stairs he heads in that direction.
It seems that the others had beat him to that as Alea, and Riddle are already moving down stairs when Thor reaches the stairs and starts downs when he hears a second scream from the common area as he searches for the source he is stopped in his tracks at first by the scean that meets his eyes. The woman who is screaming is standing in the doorway between the common room and the kitchen and he recognizes her as the barkeepers wife following her gaze he sees both the barkeep who is lying on his back with a large triangle piece of metal protruding from his chest, what is more upsetting to Thor is to see Siliwen kneeling over the dead mans body her hands covered in what looks to be his blood, and she looks to Thor to be in a daze or a state of shock.
Riddle is already in the common room and at Siliwen side but with the wife yelling She killed my husband! and a crowd already starting to come from the rooms upstairs they need to act fast. Thor looks around for Alea and pulls her close to him, You need to go down there and get to that mans wife and take her back into the kitchen and try to calm her down and see if you can talk to her and find out what she saw if anything at all. Myself, Riddle,and Billy will do what we can out here to get the rest of these people out of here, get Siliwen away from the body and back to the room where one of us can speak with her, and also take care of the barkeeps body, since we seem to be a long way from any real city or town hopefully we will have time before any type of officials show up here. So lets get on the move.
Now Thor moves into the center of the room where Riddle and Siliwen are and he waits for just a moment till he sees Alea reach the wife and start to speak with her then to Riddle Riddle I have Alea trying to speak to the wife and get her to move back into the kitchen, it would be a good idea if you can get Siliwen up away from the body and back upstairs to their room, try to find out if she can tell you what happened if she knows and get her cleaned up as fast as possible, myself and Billy will try to clear out the rest of these people and move the body at least out of view here. Riddle, Billy what do you two think we should do ,do you think I am doing the wrong or the right thing. Thor waits for an answer

Sitting down with the rest of the group for morning meal Xour has the waitress bring him a couple of slabs of thick fried ham and a pint of ale. then looking over the magic haul from yesterday and from the eailer drow encounter he looks for anything he feels may benifit him.
OOC:I have a question here about stacking magic for armor class I seem to have forgot and I don't know much about 3 and 3.5ed can a ring of protection be worn along with an amulet of natural armor. If yes and no one wants the +2 amulet Xour will use it with his +2 ring if not he will siggest that he takes the +3 amulet and puts his +2 ring in for someone else to use for the +3 amulet will increase his AC to 20.If he can stack the ring and +2 amulet he would go to 21. Please let me know, Thanxs. PS also since this is the first treasure that has been distributed since I joined this game how do you handle the coins of gold, Platinum, silver and such do you divide it up equally between all characters or is it handled some other way.
Bic:So he asks about the two Amulets and what anyone thinks and then he also lays his eyes on the Ring of Evasion and ask about it. Then outside of the magical items he lays he eyes on both the Brass Mug set with Dark Green Jade 600
Gold and Ruby Ring 4000 he would like the brass mug to actually drink from with a little flair and the ring would look good on his finger so he looks and waits to see what others want and to see if they agree to what he wants.

Subject: A New Day Dawns.
OOC: First I would like to apologize to the group for being absent from posting for so long, but it has really been out of my hands my company has cut my work hours in half and I had to drop my high speed Internet connection and just finally got a phone one back up and running, anyways I am back and will be present.Thanks for being patient with me for I would hate to lose out on any of the games I play here at the RDINN.
BIC: After the long night they had with the wolf attacks and the strange going on surrounding Siliwen and her vision Thor had not been able to really settle down and relax he kept himself on high alert for anything that even slightly looked out of the ordinary. To him it seemed that Siliwen their mage was being specifically targeted by someone who wanted her out of the way. Thor made a pledge to himself and the party that he would do all in his power to see that did not happen.
The morning dawns bright and sunny as if trying to wipe away the nights horror. The team struck out as early as they could but stuck to the south road they passed several wagons and single riders along the way all would at least acknowledge their passing but at the same time they could tell all viewed them with suspicion. Thor slowly came to accept that fact that they would probably continue to be viewed that way even if they where trying to help.
As they traveled To the West they could see the uplands in the distance rising into the sky; it appeared as if a great upheaval had rent the ground and thrust part of it skyward several hundred feet into the air. A great black storm cloud covered all of the upland they could see from their location and no matter how far they traveled the storm remained stationary over the land.
They traveled all day, stopping only once shortly after the sun was straight up to rest the horses and eat something themselves. All the while they all felt a eerie feeling from the direction of the West, as if someone or something was watching them.
As the road turned to head more to the south the darking storm that seemed to hover in the west eventually disappeared from view but it's effect on Thors feelings did not disappear with it, the feeling of dispariar and of coming danger would not leave the dwarf for a long time to come. This said however when the lights and the Inn came into view and the thoughts of a hot meal some good ale and a comfy bed filled his head the dwarf did for a moment at least have a warm comfy feeling. As they ride up a stable hand at once appears “Ho travelers!” “you be staying the night I imagine.” It was more a statement than a question . Thor at once dismounts He will rub the war horse along his neck and speak softly into the stallions ear as he always does whenever he is going to leave “Lighting” with anyone else. “Welcome to the Leeside Way… Me and my boy will tend your horses for the night,” Thor will relinquish his horse to the speaker and will add an extra silver to the coin he hands over to the stable man requesting that they brush his horse “Lighting” down very thoroughly Here my good man and a little extra for I would like if one could give my horse here,his name is Lighting, a good brushing, and if I can tell he has been well taken care of there is more for you and your stablemen. So thanks for your efforts. Leaving his horse in the hands of the stablemen he wanders into the Inn proper.
As they enter the ‘Leeside Way’ as the stable man called it, they see a comfortable common room with about 6 tables and a long bar. The smell of cooking food fills the air as they look about at the current occupants. There is a bartender serving drinks behind the bar, a single waiter-servant man walks between the tables serving drinks and food to the half dozen patrons.
As soon as they enter it's as if the air was suddenly sucked out of the room for the room becomes deathly silent as all eyes turn to the newcomers, he does not know about the others, but this constant, mistrust , that they keep encountering is having an effect on Thor the room remains silent until the barkeep speaks up.
“Welcome travelers.. Come in and make yourself at home, “ Take any table you wish,” “Karl will be by in a moment to take your orders.” This puts the bar back on track and all conversations as such return to normal, at least almost Thor can still tell that some of the patrons remain uncomfortable and they continue to steal quick glances over towards the party who seat themselves at one of the larger vacant tables. After they are all seated Karl does come over. He is obviously not comfortable with the party however he does his job without a smile. “Can I get you something to drink,” “Tonight we have lamb, potatoes, fresh vegetables and bread if you be hungry.”
Each party member orders what they want, Thor orders the lamb, potatoes, fresh vegetables and bread and and asks Karl to keep his mug of ale full at all times. Then once they all have food and drink and are somewhat left to themselves they listen at first to what Siliwen has to say.
"This enemy we face I think is trying to get to me through my feelings concerning my companion Jpriel's death. Tonight there are two things I would like to try. One is meditation so that my mind is under my control and the other, Alea, you would need to do which is cast sanctuary or perhaps a blessing. I would also prefer to sleep with someone in the room with me. I am not sure why I have been targeted if I could figure that out perhaps I could do something to turn this around."
Listing as she talks Thor has to agree with her and he lets the group know,
I am in total agreement with what Siliwen is saying, I think we all could tell during the battle with the wolfs that they where sent to get at Siliwen for they kept ignoring us until we started killing them, and then the mental attack with the vision or whatever it was most certainly was meant to hurt or destroy her, we need to be very carfull and I think no one of us should from this point forward be left by themselves. Why Siliwen has been the first one targeted out of all of us for individual attack we can only guess at, although the fact that she is a mage may have something to do it, but that is as I say only a guess and could really have no bearing on it at all, at this point we don't really have enough clues. We just need to be extra cautious and the idea of Billy's to share rooms and set watch's even though we are in an inn is the prudent thing to do. Those that need rest to replenish their strength and knowledge should get first rest to be sure they get what they need so i suggest myself, Billy, and then Riddle take the first three watches. As far as how we sleep and who is in which room I care not but I think we only need two rooms.
Once Thor has had his say into recent events and how he thinks they should proceed he will finish his meal drink three pints of ale and once they have their rooms will retire to them to look them over( He wants to see what type of defense's they could set up for the night depending on which floor they are on if there are any windows in the rooms or in the halls that lead to the rooms. What type of access does someone have to the sleeping area where they are is there one or two was into where the sleeping rooms are. Based on what he sees he first picks what he thinks is the best place to watch both rooms from, he also suggests that they have a password to use before anyone opens the doors to anyone who may be knocking on them, and if there are any windows present that can be opened from outside he will ask both Riddle and Siliwen if either has anyways to prevent or at least warn if the windows are tampered with. With all that done he settles in for first watch.

Quickly following Billy back to where the others where he listened as there was talk of trying to bandage the hurt wolf and maybe heal it. "Personaly if I were injured so and there was little hope for becomming whole again i would rather join my god than be left crippled here.
Then he addresses Riddles statement perhaps we should begin moving away from here what ever it was that led the attack knows we are here i think it would be wise to put as much distence as possible between us and this place, your thoughts."
Yes I think it might be a good idea although it looks to be awhile before sunrise yet I see no reason for us to stay in this place any longer.
Having said his peice Thor goes to his horse and calms em down by speaking softly and stroking it's neck reassuring the creature that all is well even if he doesn't feel it is.

Subject: Another Surprise Mage pie.
Moving as quick as a dwarf could Thor was lucky to retrieve his weapons and still have time to catch the next wolf as it tried to get past him, his war ax catching it in the face and his morning star finishing it off by crushing its skull, blood was flying everywhere as the dwarf tried to get a fix on his next target.
Things seemed to slow down as the wolves stopped outside their reach and instead started to circle looking for away to breech their defensive line and get at their mage. It had become obvious that she was the primary target, and it was also obvious that these wolves where being controlled by an outside force.
Siliwen standing her ground and in a great act of courage manages to put two wolves that where charging her to sleep just before they got to her that left just one wolf to deal with at the moment, and this wolf was near Riddle and he was keeping it at bay.
Then Thor heard Billy, who was next to him in their line and who could see much farther into the brush than Thor could, suddenly yell out Blasted, sneaky mage!!
and take off running into the brush that was in front of them.
Thor could not see what he was yelling about but if there was a mage in that direction he was not going to let Billy blindly charge into a battle with him alone. Watching to see where Billy was heading into the brush, Thor makes a break in the same general direction but he angles off slightly so he can approach whatever or whoever Billy is charging, from Billy's right. Trying his best to make haste and to keep Billy in sight off to his left but at the same time trying to use his short stature to his advantage by keeping low and the bushes and brush will help conceal him.
As he watches Billy run strait at whatever he saw he hoped that would keep whoever focused on Billy, and Thor hoped he could find who or whatever was Billy's target By keeping the big man in sight so he could find the target without being noticed.

Subject: Wolves Aplenty.
Thor manages to get a good grip on the wolfs fur and in one quick motion he heaves the wolf up and over his body, the only problem from this move was as the wolf was thrown he did not let go so his teeth did even more damage to Thor's shoulder but in the heat of battle the dwarf takes it in stride and as soon as the wolf is free of him and crashing into the trees thors takes that moment to quickly retrieve his dropped weapons.
He doesn't think he is going to be fast enough as another group of wolves are already charging but to his surprise the wolves seem to be bent on getting to those who are behind him and Billy's defensive line like they have been preprogramed for a specific target. If he has the time he will grab up his weapons and automatically attack the wolf nearest to him always leading with his war ax, if not he will just grab his weapons and either stand in defense if the wolves are not past him yet and wait to attack as they approach, or if they are past him he will turn and go after them attacking when he is close enough.

Subject: Hand to Paw Combat.
OOC: Sorry works been keeping us on overtime the last two weeks has slowed my posting slightly.
BIC; Thor turns around to try to help Billy with the wolf that has sunk it's teeth into his shoulder, but before he can do anything to help the problem is solved by Billy who breaks the wolves back in his bear hug. Thor however by turning his back opened himself up to attack and before he can turn back around a large wolf thunders into him staggering him slightly but sinking it's large fangs into his shoulder. Now he is in the same prediciment Billy was in only this wolf is on his back and out of his reach.
With his weapons in his hands Thor has no good way to attack the wolf that has clamped it's teeth into his shoulder but on his backside and swinging an ax at ones own head does not seem like a good idea. So the Dwarf falls back on the days when his Uncle used to out the young Dwarf into the wrestling ring. Dropping his weapons at his sides Thor reaches back and getting as good of a grip as he may in any way that he can either by wrapping his arms across the animals head or just grabbing two good handfulls of fur, once that is acomplished Thor will attempt to, by using the stregnth in his arms and upper body swing, or flip the beast up and over his shoulder using an old wrestling move he knows. If it works and the wolf lets go of him he will try to toss it as far from himself as he can so maybe he can scoop up at least his war ax. If not and the wolfs does not let go and the two kind of end up in a heap togeather or the wolf stays attached but in front now Thor will attempt to put the wolf into a choke hold by wrapping his left arm around it's neck and then gripping his left clenched fist with his right hand he will then with all he has in him pull his arm tight across the wolfs neck.
