Subject: The Unfolding Battle.
As everything seems to so far be proceeding nicely Xour sees no reason to yet leave his pearch, that is as long as his prey is still in range.Keeping track of the two large Orcs that he has been firing upon Xour will continue to target these same two.They seem to be larger and more powerfull than the rest and he thinks these two may be in charge, just a educated guess on his part.
Xour will stay with the same targets and same tactics (taking the full round for attacking and using his rapid shot feat. please see ooc; below) as long as they are in range, if they are not he picks out two Orcs who are not entangled and may be a menance to any who are in meele on the field.
Staying with the same tactic's he has been using the ranger clears his head and as he prepares to fire, he visulizes what he wants the outcome to be which is always a good hit upon his target, targeting the Orc he hit in the thigh first he notchs "beauty" with the arrow aims down the shaft visualizes and then releases, as he watches the first arrow fly towards it's target he automatically prepares for his next shot, reaching back he pulls the arrow from his quiver notch's it and then targets his next victim.Sighting down the arrows shaft he brings the second Orc the one with his arrow sticking out of it's chest into view and once again goes through his ritual.Sight target, visualize, then fire.

BIC:Being totally in his element now, fully focused on his enemies and feeling at one with his bow "Beauty" Xour wants nothing more than to push his advantage.His senses seem as heightened as they have ever been durning battle, and Even though there is caos all around with Orc's and Goblins yelling and screaming his own comrades yelling their battle cries to their gods the clash of metal on metal as swords cross in battle the battle hardened elven ranger can look around the field and pick and choose where he wants to focus and can some how instintivly hear and know what is happening there at that exact moment almost as if that was the only battle going on upon the field.
So it is with his senses fully tuned to the battle raging around him Xour scans the field and picks his next target for this attack.If he sees any one of his comrades in a tough situation this will be the target for his next shot, if not he will finish with either of the two Orcs he started with, and if they are down or out of range and no one seems in dire need he will just pick the biggest, ugliest, meanest looking Orc he can see to try and sink this next arrow into.He pulls the arrow free of his quiver, notch's it sights down the shaft, visualizes the hit, then releases the arrow following it's flight to it's end.
The elven ranger will now once again take stock of the battle field and in rapid fashion make his choice for his next move.

Subject: A Re-evalueation!
In his tree perch Xour watches as the Orcs and Goblins rush into their trap, and when they see Lorae they rush blindly forward this causes a majority of them to become entangled in the entangles that she set out. So with many foes trapped Xour picks out his targets and fires away.
When one of his arrows actually flies wide of it's target he reevaluates and deceides he is being to nonchlant in his targeting and tells himself he will buckle down and be more carefull when targeting.
Clearing his mind of all outside thoughts, and focusing on the Orcs and Goblins that are not trapped considering them to be the most dangerous to his comrades. He scans the battlefield and seeing that it looks like all the goblins are entangled he looks for three Orcs that are free and pose a threat to one of the fighters on the ground. Once he picks out his three targets ( he is using his rapid shot feat and full round action to fire three arrows)
Starting with the Orc that is farthest away from his location in the tree he reaches for an arrow notchs it and sights down the arrow to his target adjusting his aim for the distance to the target and any drop that the ground might induce into the arrows flight. Clearing his mind of all but what he is doing right now, he uses the tecnique of visulizing what he wants to happen he sees the arrow leaving the bow and it's flight to the target and striking the target, and when he visulizes the target being hit is when he releases the arrow he has notched. Finding his next target he goes through the same routine hoping that this will help in keeping him focused and improve his kill rate. Not that he has any real problem, but he is of the belife that there is always room for improvement.
The bow is and has always been Xour's weapon of choice. He has sought out and trained with some of the best bowsmen known in his world. He has lived, and breathed archery since he was a young elf, and the longbow he carries now the one he has named “Beauty” was made by some of the best fletchers he could locate, and its grip and form was designed for his hands and his height. He has probally fired a million arrows from this bow just in practice and always is seeking new advice and tecnique.
After his second arrow is released he targets the third Orc which shouls be the one closet to his pearch, and once again he goes through the visulization technique and watchs as the arrow leaves his bow and flies to it's target. Once he has finished his firing he again scans the battlefield to deceide what he is going to do next.

Subject: Enemy's from the West
Xour spends his time, as he follows Lorae and the party towards where they will make their next stand against the enemy, observeing and listening to both those he has travled with and the two newcomers that had accompined Lorae back to them. He always found it to be enlighting to be a good observer and listener, for many times one could find out much more about a new companion by their actions, and by what they did not say then by questions asked directly. People often had preconcived answers to questions that where often asked so these answers where often of no value. So it was of no surprise to him when the one let it be known that he was a wielder of the arcane arts, he had been quite sure he had been holding back just alittle not that it truly mattered much.
As they entered an open glad area the troop stops to plan their next moves. Pretty sure that the group passed earlier would be coming this way to hunt them down they where looking for a good place for an ambush. Then both Flame and Daug appeared returning to their respective masters. When Daug reaches he turns around at growls at the forest to the west. It was clear enough to Xuor. Enemies come. Daugs hackles rise on her neck and she bares her teeth. He at once relays the information he has gleaned from his animal friend Seems friends that our enemy is closing and will be coming from the west.
Since he is talking he doesn't hear clearly what Flame was saying so ( OOC: Listen Roll 15+7=22 and spot roll 15+10=25) Knowing from Daug from what direction they are coming he will start watching out in that direction. He knows from the conversation that had been on going about their ambush what was pretty much going to happen. Logan had earlier stated
It may also prove benificial if we team up in twos this time around while have our two archers attack from oppisite sides. So having watched as Vatta had taken up a good spot from which to fire into the glad he quickly picks out a spot that will put those entering the glad pretty much in the middle of both archers deadly fire. Making sure he has everything he needs from his horse he makes his way over to the tree he will work from, then knowing his horse will fend very well for herself ( could not find anywhere if horse was male or female so if it's ok my horse will be female and named Laurianna. If not ok just let me know Thanxs.) keep herself safe but will be within calling distance if needed he rubs her neck gently and nuzzles her nose with his, speaking softly to the animal he sends her off to wait. Continueing to watch to the west he will climb and pull himself up into the tree he picked and get himself situated in as good a position as possable to fire his bow. Now he waits.

Subject: The need for speed and a new plan
When he first breaks through the underbrush and sees the shape Logan is in he is quite surprised, the Orc leader lies dead but it is obvious that Logan paid a high price for his victory.Brianna goes right to work on Logan so Xour will draw his bow and keep watch around for any foes.
It is at this point that he first hears then sees Flame the little dragonete that belongs to Lorae.Brianna at once tells Flame that Logan needs healing and to bring Lorae to them quickly.Lorae shows up very fast with two new riders following her.She at once goes over to work on Logan and when she is finisher has one of the new riders also help heal him.
Xour watches the two new arrivals and listens as Lorae makes introductions all around He nods politely when he and Daug are mentioned but nothing more.He needs to see a little more of the new arrivals before he lets them into his life other than to fight at their side.Since Lorae brought them he knows he can be fairly sure they are there to help and are good people but he has always been the loner type and it always take time for anyone to get through his exterior shell.
When Brianna brings their horses over he thanks her and taking the reins mounts his warhorse at once.Leaning over the neck of his horse he gently strokes it neck and whispers in the horses ear as he always does being reasurring and making sure the horse is feeling calm and connected to him.Now it seems it's time to prepare for their next encounter with the Orcs.As they are speaking Lorae tells them that on their way here they saw some Orcs and Goblins, As we rode here we passed a band of Goblins and Orcs preparing to move out. They may come after us."
To which our Dwarven friend Highnar at once gets excited saying,me axes are yet hungry for the flesh and blood of Orc’s.
Xour listens to the banter but what they need right now is a plan and some information on the movement of the group that Lorae saw.Turning to Lorae Xour speaks,So we may have Goblins and Orcs togeather, nice group, can you say how far back it was you passed this group?could you tell if they turned to follow your group?If they are headed this way we need to know how soon they will arrive and if not then what our next move should be.As he waits for Lorae to answer his first two questions he deceides to send Daug on a quick recon mission.Sending him back along the route Lorae had come to see if anything was coming towards them and once spoted to return to him at once .

Subject: Empty Field-Raging Battle
After leaving the tree he had been firing from Xour scans the battlefield to find where it seems he would be needed next. Out in the field itself where the first four Orcs had been advancing from. It seems that Brianna and Highnar have that area all under control as they make sure each downed Orc is dead.
Seeing that he is not needed in the field at all he turns his attention back to where the Orc leader had crashed into the underbrush and as he does he hears a loud raging roar which he knows came from the Orc, he must have run into Logan and the sounds of a mighty battle echo through the fields. From the sounds of the battle it is very hard to tell who was getting the upper hand, so with the sounds ringing out he proceeds to make his way towards where the battle is being fought.It seems that both Brianna and Highnar have the same idea. So the three move across the field to where Logan and the Orc leader are doing battle.

Subject: leaving the tree
Watching as the first two arrows he fires both hit their mark and the orc now stands with an arrow in his shoulder and one in his neck, but as yet still stands. however Xour holds his last shot and will in this return it to his quiver sling his bow up and over his arm and then as quickly and nimbly as possible drop from the tree onto the ground.
Once out of the tree he will look to see where both his friends are Brianna and Highnar and if either is close enough to finish off orc two he will head towards the orc leader who took cover in the underbrush, if no one is near orc two he will then first head towards it in order to finish that orc off before chashing after the other. He will move to get within point blank range of orc two.

Subject: Cutting the numbers.
Watching intently the battle going on around him Xour's arrows fly true and straight both striking his target with deadly accuracy. In his mind he thanks both his gods and his own ability's for the chance to rid this world of these his dreaded foes the Orcs.
As he prepares for his next attacks he finds he has a decision to make. Because between his friends and himself a couple of the beasts have dropped dead. One of them continues to live because he had clumsily tripped over his dead comrade. The leader of this band seeing his comrades falling under the onslaught of their ambush decides to break off his run towards Xour's position and veer towards the nearest cover which puts him out of his range. Only the Orc who had tripped would he be able target.
With both Brianna and Highnar now in close combat with the Orc's and Logan yet to reveal his position Xour decides to stay put at least for one more attack. So once again using “Beauty” the
Elven ranger pulls his first arrow notch's it and sights down it's length at the remaining Orc in the field
Once happy with his aim he gently releases the bow string that at once propels the deadly missile towards it's target. Watching as his arrow flies towards it's target he automatically reaches back pulls the next arrow from it's home in his quiver notch's it, sights down it's length, and once comfortable with his aim, again gently releases the bow string to hurtle his second missile at his target.
OOC: Dragon Mistress please see my question in the original recruitment thread about full round actions.Thanxs
BIC: Never being one to waste ammo or use it if not needed after he pulls the third arrow from his quiver he goes through his usual ritual of notching it and sighting down the arrow at his target, this time however he will hold back releasing the missile for the split second it takes for the other arrows to either hit their mark or fly off harmlessly.If either one of the first two miss he will release the third, but if both hit their mark he will not fire the third and will prepare to leave the tree.

Subject: Orc Killing fields
Once in his chosen tree Xour squirms himself into a good firing position, as he does the sounds of battle are already echoing around him in the forest. He hears the Orcs in their wild dash to catch him as well as the sound of bow strings singing in the breeze to which he will now add his own music. Finally feeling secure in the tree he takes quick stock of what has gone before he was ready, and to his surprise he sees the lead Orc with three arrows stuck in him still on his feet and closing on their position. Feeling that this Orc must go down soon he continues with his original plan and targets the next two closest ones with his attacks.
With beauty in his hand (that will be his name for his bow) he can feel himself slipping into that state of mind where he feels like he and his bow become one the bow is just an extension of his arm. Pulling the first arrow it is notched and he is aiming all in one fluid motion his mind and body working so well together that he doesn't really have to think his actions are almost automatic and so fluid that he can pull an arrow nocth it aim and fire before his heart beats even once and now with his dreaded enemy the Orcs closing on him and his party he preforms this action 4 times targeting the second and third closest Orc each twice and before he can even breath once four arrows are in the air and on their way to their targets .
OOC: I think I get four shots with my bow and the feats that I have please let me know if I have the feats wrong. Thanxs.
BIC:He watches intently for whatever impact his attack has as he prepares for his next shots.

Subject: The first shots are fired.
Xour Makes it to the tree he planned to climb and up into it by sheer determination and maybe a little luck, had he stepped on any of the rabbits that got underfoot he may be already in hand to hand combat with the Orcs, but he smiles to himself, he good fortune has held once again..However now is not the time to consider his fortune good or bad there are more pressing matters. The Orcs are closer than he wanted and before he is even in position to start shooting he can hear the twang of Brianna's bow as she unloads a volly of arrows into the oncoming Orcs.
Wiggling and twisting himself into position the ranger draws his bow notches his first of several arrows
takes aim at the closest Orc and lets it fly.he will shoot until his turn is over concentrating on the two closest Orcs first one than the other.Moving back along their line if any of them drop.
OOC: I don't normally like to use terms or phrases in my post like “until his turn is over” or things that make it seem like a game rather than a story, but I just have not had quite enough time to fully study the character I have taken over and was not sure when posting how many shots he had coming at 8th level a 24 dex and as the orc as second favored enemny.Sorry I will do better I promise.

Subject: Speedy Orcs and Rabbit's too
Once he gets the orcs on his tail Xuor finds they are a little faster than he thought when they are after Elf meat.He is doing all he can to stay far enough in front of them to be able to get into his tree.Then just as he is about to reach the clearing he nearly steps on a bunch of rabbits who are leaving their burrow right where he is placing his foot.It takes all of his skill to keep his momemtum up and not lose his balance as he nearly crushes a rabbit.
Bursting into the c shaped clearing at the bottom left he makes his final sprint putting everything he has into this last forced run in order to reach the copse of trees in the center of the clearing.He knows that the orcs are following so he doesn't waste time by looking back to see, he just finds the tree he planned on climbing and heads stright for it.Then using his climbing ability he will attempt to scrambles up and get into position to fire his bow.

Subject: The plan in action
OOC:Just a quick hello to the other players here and to let you all know that I am taking the roll of Xuor.So shall we get down to business and kill some Orcs.
BIC:
With their plan for an ambush now set Xuor sets out to lure the stinking creatures to their deaths.He knows all he has to do is get upwind of their party and they will come a running.Circleing around the orcs keeping himself at first downwind untill he is sure he is in the right position and far enough advanced so he can reach the tree he is planning to climb.Then when he feels everything is right he will move into the upwind position so they will know he is there and come a running.
Keeping all his senses tuned towards the orcs he bids his time till he is sure they have caught his scent, then turning he makes a beeline back to his hiding spot in the tree, making sure he now stays upwind so they can easiely follow lurning the filthy beasts to their deaths.Once he reaches his position he quickly scurries up the tree and positions himself so he has maximan firing range.With his longbow in hand and the first arrow nothced he waits for the orcs to make their appearance.
