Rhetti Hall

It was visible as soon as the trio walked a few hundred feet on main street. It was a monolithic building, standing int he center of Dom-Rhett spaceport. It was right in the middle of the territory of the two guilds, standing like some kind of massive palace. By looking for Rhetti Hall, one could tell depending on which side of the building they could see on which side of guild territory they were on. With ornate pillars and steps leading to a set of great, silver double-doors, the hall was definitely the only facility in sight that seemed to command respect...
Kavtan had seen it before, when he was old enough to roam the city by himself he had found himself intrigued by Rhetti Hall, it was magnificent with it's doors and pillars and those steps leading to the doors. The symbol of power and wealth gone slightly mad, admittedly it was for the arts so he couldn't argue with it but it was wealth gone mad.

They were greeted by a protocol droid, D-1JO, he was unfamiliar with this type of droid, he would have to ask to have a look at it later, but one did not request to dismantle one's host's droid over a posh shin dig. They were led through the building into a hall, there were a lot of doors, closed doors, doors that might hide something, doors that merited investigation. But investigation at a later date.

They was greeted by Namor, or the two Jedi were. He had used ridiculuos amounts of gel in his hair and his robes were ugly, neon blue, with tassels, he almost laughed, he very well might have let a snicker go as Namor addressed him then.
"And you, good sir," (he pointed as Kavtan) "Your name seems to have slipped my mind. Excellent job today." All he could do was smile slightly and mutter something about just doing his job, it was very possibly incredible but he didn't mind too much as he hadn't been paying much interest to what Namor was saying before that.

They entered the dinning room, this was going to be interesting

Ooh, fancy

Ninkanna glances around her entire range of vision within the Hall. The architecture is astounding, but... it feels so empty to her, almost cold in a sense, not unlike the direct droid who is leading them. The place almost seems like a library or archive, with the doors along the side to lead to rooms filled with datapads and memory files.

"Welcome, welcome,"
Ninkanna quickly turns to the source, having not really been paying attention to what is in front of her.

"I'm sorry, JO is supposed to be programed for ettiquette, but I swear that whoever programmed must have been completely inept at that subject..."
"Oh, that's alright, I imagine it'd be among the more difficult things for a droid to comprehend." Ninkanna says, thinking about her starfighter's astromech droid and its own little quirks.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be blathering" he continued. "Please come with me, let me show you to the dining room. I want to give our Jedi friends a warm welcome."
"Thank you." Ninkanna replies, giving a respectful bow.

She follows Namor into the dining room, hoping she wouldn't be asked to do too much that's out of her league.

The Halls of Avarice...

As they walked up the main thoroughfare towards the Rhetti Hall, Si-Di took a good look at everything around her. She saw the plight of the workers and the common folks, this only made the opulence of Rhetti Hall even more appalling to her sight. To think that the Administrator live here, in luxury, over looking the spaceport with streets filled with people who could never afford such luxuries if they saved all their lives. She managed to pull back her revulsion and keep it from her countenance as they entered the Hall and were greeted by a protocol droid.

"Greetings," it said, "I am D-1JO. I am instructed to escort you to Administrator Namor. Please come with me."
Si-Di only nodded to the droid and followed it inside; the spacious interior did little to ease her feelings of someone living above the normal commoners as if looking down up them and saying “I am better then them.”

"Welcome, welcome," he said. "I'm sorry, JO is supposed to be programed for ettiquette, but I swear that whoever programmed must have been completely inept at that subject..."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be blathering" he continued. "Please come with me, let me show you to the dining room. I want to give our Jedi friends a warm welcome. And you, good sir," (he pointed as Kavtan) "Your name seems to have slipped my mind. Excellent job today."

Si-Di turned from the spacious halls and expensive decorations and bowed slightly to Administrator Namor as he entered. His elegant manner of dress did not please her either, but she kept any of her revulsions from showing in her countenance.

“Thank you Administrator,” she said as she followed him into the dining room where she was sure to be treated to a meal that would feed 2 or 3 times the number of people that would actually be dining here this evening.

“I must say Administrator,” Si-Di said as they walked in to the room, “you do seem to have a very ‘lucrative’ position here. Rhetti Hall is quite… dazzling to behold.” It almost took the force for her to restrain her displeasure from leaking out into her words. He slowly took a deep breath and engaged in a brief Jedi calming technique to maintain her presence.

The Predicament of Lysander 'Rok' Orda

Resting up in an alleyway wasn't exactly a relaxing experience, considering the fumes one experienced almsot constantly on the streets of Dom-Rhett, though the sunset did give Lysander a reprieve from the desert heat. The dry heat of the desert-like world meant that it didn't remain humid at night. That didn't make the smell or the attack on Lysander's sinuses any less potent, however. He was lucky to have the scarf, however lady-like it might have been.

As Lysander regrouped and reflected on the day, planning his next move, he heard something stir at the other end of the alley. It could have been anything from a bum to a grat mouse forraging for food. But before Lysander could investigate, the source of the mysterious sound revealed itself.

"For a con-man wanting to lay low, Mr. Orda," the raspy voice said, "You certainly draw a lot of attention to yourself."

"Did you think an underground scoundrel like you wouldn't be noticed?" A voice behind Lysander said. Soon, the two beings on both sides stepped into the light, becoming visible to the human con-man. The man in front of Lysander was human, a ragged-scruffy looking type, with a blaster pointed right at Lysander's head. If he were to look behind him, Lysander would see that the assailant there was a Bothan, with a large beard, an even larger grin, and (largest of all) a blaster rifle.

"We need you to come with us," the raspy voice of the human thug before Lysander commanded. "And if you're thinking of any funny stuff, realize that this isn't an option. You are coming with us. Someone very important wants to ask you a few questions."

"And don't tell us you don't know nothin'," the Bothan spat. "We'll find that out fer ourselves. We got ways. You give us no trouble, you might just come outta this alive..."

As the night engulfed Dom-Rhett spaceport, the criminal underbelly flourished. And while the Jedi and their Duros mechanic ally dined and discussed the politics of Dathu, Lysander Orda found himself in a rather sticky predicament...

(Will post for the lot of you later. Meanwhile, the fate of Lysander Orda, Grugg, will remain unknown for the next few weeks...conveniently coinciding with Grugg's vacation! )

There is no hungriness, there is Dinner time!

Welcome, welcome," Namor said. "I'm sorry, JO is supposed to be programed for ettiquette, but I swear that whoever programmed must have been completely inept at that subject..."

"Oh, that's alright, I imagine it'd be among the more difficult things for a droid to comprehend." Ninkanna said.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be blathering" he continued. "Please come with me, let me show you to the dining room. I want to give our Jedi friends a warm welcome. And you, good sir," (he pointed at Kavtan) "Your name seems to have slipped my mind. Excellent job today."

"Thank you." Ninkanna replied, giving a respectful bow.

“Thank you Administrator,” Si-Di said as she followed him into the dining room. All Kavtan could do was smile slightly and mutter something about just doing his job, it was very possibly incredible but he didn't mind too much as he hadn't been paying much interest to what Namor was saying before that.

“I must say Administrator,” Si-Di said as they walked in to the room, “you do seem to have a very ‘lucrative’ position here. Rhetti Hall is quite… dazzling to behold.”

"Yes, yes," the Administrator replied, smiling. He removed the tasseled robe he was wearing and hung it on the his chair at the head of the table; underneath it, he was wearing equally intricate (and expensive looking) attire. As the three picked their places at the table, Namor pressed a button at his end of the table and two protocol droids entered from an adjacent room, one carrying a silver tray with four drinks - it was a light blue substance - and the other carrying Huttese Cigars. The droids circled around the table, one clockwise, the other counterclockwise, offering each to the guests.

"The Administrative position is indeed a lucrative job, but a hard one," he said. "I'm not in any political position to keep the guilds at bay, but when I provide them both with clean water and power, they seem to be happy. Of course, they're often at each other's throats...please, eat. Dinner conversation without dinner just wouldn't do..."

On the table was some kind of stuffed fowl, some sauteed vegetables and a tray of mixed fruits. There were roasted Varg legs and various deserts also. The entire affair was very extravagant - Namor was apparently trying to impress.

As the droids served the guests while they chose what to fill their plates with, Namor, smiling the entire time, began to speak once more.

"I haven't met any Jedi before," he said. "I've lived in the outer rim my entire life. Born on Tattooine - I cut my teeth working for the Hutts. I've worked on all sorts of Hutt worlds. But I soon found that the real business opportunities were out here...in the wilderness. It has its risks, though.

"This guild dispute for instance. There's only one major continent on Dathu, and a few smaller ones. And a river runs through the entire land mass, from north to south. An agreement drawn up between the guilds decades ago dictated that the Mining Guild would have everything east of the river and the Union would have everything west. Though Dathu is just a few miles west, in Union territory, the agreement itself only refers to the mines - sometimes agreements are drawn up where a guild is allowed to mine in another's territory, for a price. However, the right to ownership of that mine is determined by that treaty. Unfortunately, after many years, the river's position has begun to shift. Differing sea levels, plate movements, climate change, on and on and on...

"Now, the river has shifted several miles to the east. Of course, the Union is demanding that the original parameters of the treaty be held to - that everything west of the river is their's. Several underground mines and mineral deposits on the border would be transferred to their control. On the other hand, the Guild claims that, while the treaty did outline the river as the guide for the border, navigational coordinates were also included in the treaty. They claim that a strict interpretation would demand that those coordinates be held to. Of course, the Union disagrees...

"The Union issued the Guild an ultimatum - to get off their land or pay the price. The Guild stubbornly refused, and there was violence at the mine sites; shortly thereafter, there was violence at every city where there are both Guild and Union establishments. Then, finally war. Production virtually halted. Now, in an uneasy peace, they're both looking for some kind of lasting agreement on the issue. They both want the violence to cease, but they're both too stubborn and greedy to give up their mines..."

The droids had finished dolling out their goodies, and they had retreated back into the adjoining room - a kitchen of some sort. As Namor finished speaking the room was filled with a sort of quiet - the high ceilings and relative lack of furnishment (except for the table and chairs) created quite the echo. Namor puffed quietly on his Huttese Cigar.

(Room for interaction, here...)

The door opened once more, and the protocol droid known as JO walked into the room. "JO," Namor said (pronouncing it 'Joe'), a quizzical look on his face, "I didn't send for you..."

"No, sir," the droid said, "But we've received a communique from Coruscant. It is a message from a group identifying itself as the 'Jedi Council'. They're requesting to speak with the two Jedi Knights you were scheduled to meet with. Are the said individuals here?"

"Yes, JO, they're right there," Namor said dismissively. He stood up. "I assume you'll want some privacy." He pointed to a door on the opposite side of the room from the kitchen. "There's a transmitter in the drawing room. I'll patch it through to there on my console."

*Yawn* Sorry, Political Discussions Make Anna Sleeeeepy

Being mostly vegetarian, Ninkanna settles on munching on a couple of fruits she recognizes, as well as a bowl of the sauteed vegetables. She accepts the drink, and sniffs it first, before taking a tentative sip. However, she politely declines the cigar.

As Namor continues to explain, however, Ninkanna's ears droop lower and lower, she eats at a slower and slower pace, and she looks as though she is about to fall asleep while sitting up by the end of it. She gives a little yawn, covered by a paw-like hand. Admittedly, most of what was said that was key to understanding was kind of beyond her; she knew little about the subtlties and the ways of politics. I'm so glad I'm not the one that has to deal with this... Ninkanna thinks to herself, All this over a lost sheet of paper...
"I'm sorry." Ninkanna says aloud, realizing her yawn must've seemed a bit rude, "I really don't understand politics all that much."

After a moment, just realizing Namor would be like Kavtan with his inexperience with Jedi, Ninkanna elaborates, "There are two main types of Jedi. There are the ones who are diplomats, who settle things like this, such as Si-Di, and ones who are guardians, trained to defend, such as me."

That said, Ninkanna falls silent, letting the others discuss, not really intent on saying anything more regarding the politics.

FOOD

Kavtan didn't recognize any of the food, it all looked 'nice' but none of it familler so he pick some pieces of things that look like they might be in the same family as the foods he was used to. He liked what he picked and so he experimented with other foods, he must have looked greedy but in truth he was inquisitive.

Namor started talking about the dispute, in his mind they were both too profit oriented and stupid. They had put their trust in a document that wasn't properly drawn up, surly they must have known the river would move as time passed, it was very basic geography.
"It was stupid for The Guild and The Union to put their trust in that document, they must of known that a river can move even then, it's basic geography. They should have known the deal would benefit one of them or cause conflict."
He stopped just then and put his fork down and wiped his mouth.
"Is it possible there was foul play from the start, from when the document was drawn up. Was it possible to predict how a river might move then?"

Dinner interrupted.

Si-DI listened to the Administrator clammor on about his duties and ate very little of the extravagent meal. She came to realize that he had no real power to help in this situation, at least none that she could see at the time. He might be useful in talking to people and getting in where she couldnt alone, but she would wait and see.

This treaty he mentioned between the guilds interested her and she listened intently now to what Namor was saying. She nodded and when he was done and puffing on his Expensive Cigar, her logical mind ran through the options.

"I will need to see this treaty so that I may go over it," She said finally, "it might help me to resolve the situation. I need to know all the facts if I am to help in the negotiations."

Si-Di nodded to Ninkanna's words acknowledging the roles each of them held in this mission. She knew Nin was not really assigned to this mission but Nin's Master had told her to help Si-Di if she could. She was sure Nin was a better warrior than she was, for while she could handle a lightsaber quite well she was not a Guardian, her knowledge tended more towards diplomacy.
Was it possible to predict how a river might move then?" Kavtan asked
Si-Di nodded to his flurry of statements, "We will have to see this treaty in order to understand why the Guilds accepted it," she stated, "maybe there is something there that we do not yet know."

Si-Di stood and gestured for Ninkanna to follow her, "Thank you Administator Namor." She lead the Jedi Guardian into the drawing room and closed the door.

"I know the Council is probably expecting to speak with my Master and I," she began, "but since you are now part of this mission I would like if you would attend." Turning to the transmitter panel she accepted the communique.

"This is Si-Di!" She stated knowing the Council would know who she was and further introduction is not necessary, "with me is Ninkanna, Padawan to Master Arkana."

(Sorry for the short post.. short on time.. just trying to keep things moving along. )
