Hello.

I'm sure some people are wondering who this is - honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if some older members had forgotten me. After re-familiarizing myself with the forums(the last time I logged in was like... a year ago? Maybe? As a nostalgia trip-), I figure my last message was at the latest 14 years ago. I would've been around 11 at the time I first signed up, perhaps far too young to join a forum like this(or to be unsupervised on the internet, though I guess my father was there...). There's a lot to talk about, some of which I'm not sure I'm really comfortable saying right now to people who are practically strangers to me, but... I guess I'll get to the point. 

As some older members might recall, my father was Tiamat5774. Looking over the forum I'd find his last messages were around 10 years ago, I think? 

The fact that 2016 was almost 10 years ago can be wild to think about, honestly. 

I tried looking for his RPG Maker XP game "Diabolical Genesis" on here but only found the campaign he ran - perhaps I was mistaken that he posted it here, though I swore I heard him talking about some members playtesting it for him. 

Around the same time... like, shortly after, a lot of things would happen. He went to prison, my mother cut ties with him, I lost contact with him, mom and I moved to Louisiana from Florida for a number of reasons I won't get into here...

After my brother passed away from heat stroke, mom decided to talk to him again to let him know. It turns out, he was having his own health issues. He was going blind, he was on kidney dialysis, he was living with his cousin then eventually his own father(who I never got to know, I was surprised he was still alive when my grandparents on my mom's side were gone), his condition got worse, and finally on the morning of the 6th of September, 2025, my father passed away. 

Though he hadn't been active on this forum in a long time, and this forum is at a low point activity wise(as are many forums in my experience), when I last really knew him, he considered many people on here good friends.

I just... woke up in the middle of the night, remembered this forum, and had the urge to let y'all know. 

I mused on potentially sticking around? Like I said before, when I first joined the forum I was far too young. I'm assuming he was trying to get me interested in one of his hobbies, but by virtue of being an annoying kid I earned my crappy Karma and I guess I just wasn't interested in it at the time. Even when I got the chance to play DND 5e in High School, I was easily distracted and bailed on my first session. I only really have gotten into TTRPGs in the last 5 or so years when a friend from a Sonic RP forum I was on invited me to his group. Since then, I've mostly taken an interest to more indie and modern TTRPGs, much of which were hacks of Apocalypse World, though DND 5E is often seen as a "default" for our groups sometimes. 

I saw there was a Discord server that I was interested in joining on impulse, but the links had long been broken and the server would seem to have been dead for some time before then. Similarly, no offense - I'm clearly not the first person to have said this - this forum is dead if not dying. Almost all sections have last posts back in 2023, except for one campaign. Even the forum games! 

I probably would've wanted a name change anyway.

So it might be very well possible that this will be one of the last posts to this forum I make.
