Subject: Back Post Ziklag

I will Allow Any Character who decides to put on their Eye Patch in Full View of the approaching Skeleton Pirates, to Back Post that they Cover One of Their Eyes or strap it Over Their Forehead, as long as the Skeleton Pirates can see the Eye Patch when they confront your character!

If it is tied to a Wrist or Arm, the Skeleton Pirate would still have to see it when approaching, for the Eye Patch to do any good in this situation!

If It Does!

I am Not Saying if the Eye Patches will help in this situation, but I am saying that if you think it might help, then it would be Good Advice to put it on where it can be seen!

The Dexterity is not included in the List I posted, because if you are attacked from behind, the Dexterity is not added to the Armor Class!

Dexterity is also not included in a Surprise Attack, so I did not list it above!

Although he only gets 1 Swing because of his +0 Dexterity, he is carrying a +1 War Hammer blessed by his Dwarven Deity Toft, so as long as he hits one of these particular Skeletons and does not miss, the Skeleton Pirate Dies!

Also, he has a Dwarven Spell that Reveals Gold, so when you all dispatch the Skeletons and get up to the Happy Water sound, he can cast that spell and tell you if any Gold is in the area!

Regarding Movement Rates
Yes, the Skeleton Pirates are moving at a 30 feet per round rate!

PC Characters have been moving slowly, examining the rubble, looking for treasure, NOT moving at your best normal rate of speed.

So your Inexperience as Level One(1) is considering running for help ???

These Skeleton Pirates are Enchanted in Some Ways!

You Will Sadly Discover Skeleton Movement Rate is Normal, while PC Movement Rate is Reduced and They Will Overtake You Before You Even See the Place Where Dagger and the Others were in a Defensive Position!

Let Alone Get Off the Rubble!

Also, the Gnome has a regular rate of 20 feet, which he may or may not be able to keep up, so are you going to leave him behind or will you all band together and fight now to help each other ???

The Answer to what has happened to this city and these Skeleton Pirates (at least partially) will be found not too far away to the north direction!

Like I said before, I am NOT trying to Kill Your Characters, but it is Possible, depending upon Decisions and the Roll of the Dice!

You get to choose what Attribute Points you are losing to add to that Weapon (like 2 from Intelligence or 3 from Wisdom or 4 from Charisma or whatever combination!)

Still Not Settled on the Dexterity thing!

My Friend says 4 Swings Tops!

I will get some Sleep and think on it some more!

30 feet per round, just like Humans and Elfs and Half Elfs!

Subject: As You Can See

This is a Crude Map, but it lets you know what you are up against now!

It is the PC Seekers turn to move and attack, before I roll Initiative again for each round, so what I am looking for in the QnA is what your character will be doing, where attacking, who to buddy up with for some added protection etc.

For this particular Combat, I will go ahead and roll up all the action and have the outcome all settled in the next UpDate!

Subject: Sent Map to Archangel

Hey Gang

Skeleton Pirates Map has been sent to Archangel, so when he posts it in the QnA you need to remember 2 things:

1. Every Character is on piles of rubble, there are No Corridors, No Streets etc

2. Aside from the crude hyroglyphs, I was tired and did not realize that I failed to make the Map wide enough to allow for 2 spaces between Crow/Amur and the Skeleton Pirates marching from the West direction!

So, for all intents and purposes, the Skeleton Pirates got the Initiative for Turn 1 Round 1 and now it is the Player Characters turn to attack, so you need to mow them down as best as you can!

Melee Weapons are the Wise Choice Here!

Hey Ody

Quarterstaff will do Full Damage as Blunt Weapon; whereas, the Arrows do half damage!

Damage is dealt by the dice roll for the QS and then Strength Bonus is added to the Damage!

Subject: Further Example or Explanation

Let us say that the Seekers approach a town or a village and you guys think you will do some interacting with Humans, but all of a sudden you discover it is a Village full of Lizard Folk who pour out of the town to Kill you!

So you got 50 (like Skeleton Pirates!) or 100 Lizard Folk chasing you with Spears!

You Gonna Need Those Extra Swings or 4 Range Shots per Round to Even Survive Long Enough to Get Out of Dodge!

Another Reason for you guys to find some Treasure stashed on this island and get back to the Toothless Dragon Tavern to settle up with Mad Dog Muldoon, Level Up to Level Two(2) and Buy More Equipment and Supplies for Your Next Place You Choose to Explore!

Subject: Actually Jozan

What I am debating is how many Swings that I will allow for the Ambi in Melee!

Tentatively, I am adding the Bonus on Dexterity, so an Ambi gets 2 Swings, plus another Swing per Bonus on Player Characters, which I did for Range Weapons, but adjusted it to 4 Arrows, Bolts, Sling Stones Maximum!

That would give an Ambi with an 18 Dex (+4) a total of 2 Swings for being Ambi and another 4 for Bonus = 6 Total.

That is if I do not limit it to say 5 total swings, am still debating what I will do!

A non-ambi character with a Dex of say 13 gets (+1) so that character gets one swing and then another swing for the +1 Dex Bonus!

Obviously, you guys will be encountering large groups from time to time, or a tougher creature that would be too high for your level, so these Extra Swings give you time to try to save yourselves!

Like I said before, I am Not Trying to Kill Any Characters!

But It May Happen!

I will be getting back with you on what exact bonus you would get. Right now, if you are Ambi and use only one sword you will get 2 Swings, plus Bonus for Strength.

Actually, I am buying a book today so I have a Hard Copy of a book that I already have, but I find it much easier and more enjoyable to flip pages, rather than scroll down through online downloads that I already own!

Subject: Skeletons

Skeletons are mindless, but are aware of living things!

I am going to step in here and decide that Ziklag's Illusionist should know that an Obscuring Mist will have no effect on Skeletons, perhaps he heard an Illusionist or Wizard talk about this when he was with his uncle ???

No sense wasting Spells, was going to let Ziklag learn the hard way, but his Daggers would be more effective than his Spells at this point, plus I do not want to get any of you Killed during your first encounter!

When you see the Map, you will notice that the Skeletons from the South are in 2 rows of 10 each, so it is actually now 2 waves of 10 Skeletons from the South and the ones on the East and West (East missing 5 Turned Skeletons) are positioned to be able to move in during the next round to form a line across the North.

I am using a deck of Fumble Cards for a roll of 1 (Bad News for Either a Character or a Foe!) and I am also using a Critical Hit deck for rolls of 20.

Mylos got a 20 which caused a ricochet effect, which is why he hit 2 Skeletons with that Bolt, albeit at Half Damage for a Piercing Weapon!

Subject: Sword

Actually, you would rather use your Sword and keep your Dirk sheathed, as you will get 2 Swings as an Ambi; whereas, an Ambi gets Primary and Off Hand Swing with 2 Weapons, but against Skeletons the Slashing (Swords) and Piercing (Arrows & Bolts) get one half damage!

In Melee, your Strength Bonus is added to your Weapon, so a Sword that does 1d8 will do either 1,2,3 or 4 against a Skeleton (Unless You Totally Miss!) plus Strength Bonus.

Not Telling You How Many Hit Points the Skeletons have, but it is possible to eliminate a Skeleton with one slice of your Sword, even at half + Strength Bonus!

Subject: Wait for Map

Should have one up tonight and actually you guys have some edge in Melee, especially the Ambi characters!

Ambidextrous Characters (15 Dex or Higher) are allowed to fight with 2 weapons without an offhand penalty!

Even though you guys are level One(1) your characters will get more swings per round than the Skeletons get, but I have to finalize in my thinking what I am allowing for my Home Brew Rules on that (have already decided that an Ambi shooting arrows, bolts or sling stones will be able to launch up to 4 max per round).

You all were running in a Surprise Situation, so Mylos and Tohmas only got one shot off to begin!

When all the smoke clears from combat I will roll a d20 to see how many arrows or bolts are salvageable! Otherwise, they are broken, bent or lost (so use your Arrows etc wisely when the time comes!)

Subject: Crude Map with Minor Mistake

Okay Gang

I have scratched out a Crude Hyroglyph Map with a Minor Mistake, so if this works you will have to figure there are 2 Spaces between the Skeleton Pirates from the West and Crow & Amur, instead of 1 Space!

What I did was update the moves of the Skeleton Pirates as they had the Initiative Move, so you all will have to decide how you are going to Form into a Circle the Wagons type of Retreat (to protect your Illusionist as Ody suggested) or Attack, depending upon what you each choose to do!

Archangel I will need to know what Resolution to have this Crude Map Scanned into a JPEG, as I will get this done sometime on Monday during my Busy Schedule for the Day!

Hope This Works Out and Helps!

No Map and No Scanner for a Crude One!

Bought Graph Paper today and left it in my Daughter's car who is studying at ORU this week, so do not know when I can get the Graph Paper back, but will keep that in mind Archangel, because I can go to a copy place and get the Graph scanned and put on a Flash Drive for a Small Fee, but am not paying money at the present time to do so!

Besides, the Battle will be finalized before I can get all that done!
