SATURDAY

AFC

New England over Denver (No brainer. Tebow is going to need God’s help on this one; check out the link above and you will see what I mean. )

NFC

New Orleans over San Fran (Think this could be a close one, but not that close. I think the Saints are just too powerful for 49ers defense. )

SUNDAY

AFC

Baltimore over Houston (I almost went against you on this one; I think the Texans will put on a good show but I think it will be close and when it is close I have to go with the Home team.)

NFC

New York Giants over Green Bay (Yep, here is where I have to go against you. I know but I think this matchup will be the closest of the weekend. Green Bay only beat the Giants by a field goal last time and the G-men had some key players out. Everyone is healthy now, the Giants are riding a wave of confidence from the last few weeks. The Packers have been inconsistent at times and I think this might be one of those times. I figure a high scoring game on both sides but think in the end the Giants min by less than 7pts)

So here is your chance to catch up if I am wrong; or will I take a commanding 2-0 lead? Hmmm? Time will tell.

Ok modified my post; let me know if anything is wrong and needs to be changed or if something interrupts his actions.

If something seems wrong with the Hover Bay entrance he will of course pause there and investigate carefully ready for trouble.

Ken had just left the bridge only moments ago and was headed towards the ladder going down to the deck with his quarters when he paused when he thought he heard or felt something; just then Tess’s voice yelled over the comm.

"Brace for Impact!!"

The deck under him heaved and even though he had braced himself against the bulkhead when Tess had warmed them he was still tossed to the deck when the hit came. The power went out and Ken quickly scrambled to his feet in the dark and felt until he found the wall.

“We’re under attack! Ready to repel boarders!” He yelled to echo through the hallway, “Where the hell are the emergency lights?” He yelled as he moved carefully along the hallway towards the location of the ladder down.

He had assumed that the Arrowhead had somehow attacked them, could it be armed? Possible but unlikely, but something had hit them. Maybe they had company, another ship standing by in case their trap to lure them to the moon didn’t work. In any case, the next step of an attack would be to board the ship and well this was his area of expertise.

Feeling with hands and feet he still almost tumbled down the ladder when he found it. Once oriented he slide down the ladder to the next deck which seemed to come up sooner than he remembered when you couldn’t really see it. He knew the layout of the ship and found the starboard side of the passage and moved along that wall counting the doors. He found the passage next to his quarters and continued past till he reached his quarters.

Opening his door he grabbed his AR/S-2a Assault rifle where he had left next to the door way. He already had his pistols in their usual place strapped to his body; he never went anywhere without them.

(This rifle doesn’t have a flashlight attachment does it? Just hoping. Ok, thinking the emergency lights should come on about this time. Considering it would take several minutes for him to move down one deck and to his room and grab his rifle. If not, I will edit again to compensate)

Properly armed, and able to see some, He went over to the Hover bay and checked it out; this was one of the possible access points of the ship. If he saw nothing suspicious, he hurried back to the stairwell and yelled so anyone on the other decks should be able to hear him in the suddenly silent ship.

‘I’m headed to the main airlock, someone watch the Hover Bay in case they latch on there.”

That said he slid down the stairs again, his rifle slung across this chest. Hitting the deck he moved towards the cargo area and then heard movement in the Infirmary.
“Steph,” he peeked in on her, if she was mobile he continued, “You ok? If so, get up the ladder or get down and out of sight. We might have company soon.”

Ken took up a defensible position behind the wine cases which he was sure they wouldn’t want to damage if this was their true target in attacking.

Making sure the Assault rifle and shotgun below were properly charged he stood ready behind cover his gun trained on the airlock. His ears were listening for any signs of the noise that should come from anyone latching on anywhere to the hull.

I would think that ships in the future, such as this, would be at least equipped as ships of our time. Most have emergency lighting, just like most office buildings today, that are battery operated to last until things like emergency generators could be fired up. The lights would have internal batteries that should last at least long enough to get the power back.

Am I wrong here? Is there no lighting what so ever?

Subject: A good plan

Talon had remained silent as Crow and Bjarki had gone back and forth for a few moments about using the other groups as fodder for the Cruniak; when it seemed resolved he spoke up and added his own thoughts.

“I don’t see us as using these people who willingly go into danger in search of the same rewards that we seek; they take their chances just as we shall. If they manage to kill some of the Cruniak then so much the better. We just might have to rescue some of them in the end.”

He thought about the ‘plan’ suggested by Crow; it seemed a good decision to wait until tomorrow since they had just arrived and were relaxing for a little bit with a couple of drinks and hopefully a good nights sleep. In truth, Talon couldn’t wait to get back on the trail; he felt uncomfortable in cities and towns. Everything seemed so closed in here; he preferred the wide open spaces and would relish the hunt that was to come.

“It’s your lucky day Cowboy. Not only have we rescued your sorry bu**, but you’ve got the best Medic this side of the hallway to patch it up.”

Max chuckled at that and winced when it caused him some pain.

“Yeah,” he said as he heard people starting to move his way through the doorway, “What a rescue. You draw them into a clever ambush where they had you trapped in a narrow hallway. Good move!”

As he watched the members of the team come through the door he smiled at them from where he slumped against the wall.

“Lets just agree that we both helped save each other shall we?” He said with a grin and then he saw Sgt Romo.

“Hey there buddy,” His smile broadened, “I should have known you were too stubborn to die. About time you guys got here. I was tired of wearing them down by letting them beat on my ribs and face.”

As the worst of his wounds were being tended he told of how he had been knocked down on the plane when the first shots had hit; he must have been thought dead by the rest evacuating the plane and he managed to get up and jump out just seconds before the plane went down. His chute had opened late and well, it had been easy for the Germans to find him really.

“If you don’t mind,” he said holding up his lugers watching them loot the bodies of the dead germans, “I would like to have something with a little more kick then these.” He raised an eyebrow hoping for one of the machine guns and maybe a couple of mags.

Once he was tended to he rose to his feet and checked his weapons; he fell into line and waited for orders on what they were going to do.

“Ah, no one has found my satchel have they?” He asked sounding hopeful, “damn Krauts took it and I think we could sure use it.”

After listening to Greta talk he frowned and furrowed his brow, “Ah, where exactly are we going and what is going on here? You guys kill everyone topside? I saw a lot of soldiers here and frankly I don’t see this small group getting this far into this place.”

I dont think too many will complain about more money if it is possible; though I dont think they will turn down the current offer either.

If you are going to ask for more, might I suggest that you make a counter offer of the 1000 plus a set amount per Cruniak head, or better yet ear.

Hey my character might not care about money but I wouldnt mind having them have it.

Lets see how it plays out.

“Perhaps, yet I think the reward should equal the danger and mayhap we should think on discussing with the Mayor a bit more in regards to that. However there is still one at this table who has yet to say yay or nay.” Glancing to the lone female at the table Crow addressed her.

“So Bas what say you, should we tentatively accept this quest while we discuss with the Mayor a larger reward??".......

“I think you have been too long among the Human kind when money is so important to you,” Talon said with a nod to Crow’s suggestion to ask for a greater reward, “But if you want to ask for more I will not gainsay thee.”

He then turns to look towards the last member of their companions who has yet to speak her mind on the subject.

Subject: Let's go hunting!

Tâlyonaas Faelandaerl sat quietly sipping a Sylvarin al he was the mostly silent one of the group. He hardly smiled, and while friendly he took everything seriously. He was uncomfortable in crowded places; much preferring the quiet openness of the forest, therefore he was even more silent then usual.

Talon, as he was called by those unable to pronounce his full name, shifted in his seat, adjusted the bow that rested across his back, and looked about the room as if he were always on the lookout for danger.

He looked at his new friends; most of them would never have had a chance to become his friends if not for what they had gone through recently. He couldn’t have seen himself befriending any of them except for the Syls if not for them being thrown together in danger and being forced to count on one another to survive.

Survive they had, out of 30 other guardsmen, only they had made it through the pass with the Merchants. During that time he had learned to depend and trust his new companions; they all had different opinions and talents but he had learned that it could be a good thing. Talon was still lost in thought regarding their recent trials when a man burst into the tavern exclaiming to all.

Hey! The Mayor just posted a 1000 Fuscat reward to any person or persons who can go after the Cruniak, wipe out their lair and bring back the head of their leader! Woooie! That’s a lot of money! If I was an younger man, i’d be sharpening my sword right now. Hey, give me a Bulleye! Now in my days I was...”

The Syl raised an eyebrow, that was a lot of money, and though he didn’t require money for his endeavours it never hurt to have some on hand but that wouldn’t be the thing that would interest him. He was more interested in the chance to deal with the Cruniak once more.

,"Well Crow? I'm in if you are. No need resting on our laurels."

Talon turned to look at Wan, the Kelden mage of the group; he had never encountered the Kelden before and thought them one of the strangest races of Audalis but he had learned that Wan could be a valuable asset and fighter.

“I say patience my friend, let us first see who else takes up this offer before we decide to commit. That is not that much money to risk our lives alone and I would like to know who we would be traveling alongside and trusting our lives to before we say aye.”

He heard Crow’s answer and glanced at the Syl Rogue; the man had a good head on his shoulders and was one of the better archers, other than himself, that Talon had known. Wan and he were very close, inseparable really, and they fought well together in a fashion that spoke of a long familiarity and friendship.

Talon was pondering the thought of this mission when the sound of a tankard slamming to the table interrupted him.

"I Be Gamard the Grim!

"We fought these devils and barely made it here alive!

"But I be a Knight of The Holy Avengers ... and I will help track down this vermin ... exterminate these devils ... and return with the head of their leader ... in the company of those brave enough to company to hell and back ... with a Cleric of Solanis!

"So I say to One and All ... Cruniak Beware!"

It was Gamard, the Khord Cleric pronouncing his willingness to go on this mission; the corner of Talon’s mouth lifted slightly in what on him would be considered a smile. The Khord was a very energetic and enthusiastic person; he had shown almost a hatred of the Cruniak when they had been battling them. It seemed that he wanted to finish the job that they had begun earlier and the Syl wasn’t sure that he wasn’t right about his belief.

Aye, brother. It would be a shame tae gang our sep'rate ways now that we're all just gettin' cozy wi' each other."

Looking up at his other new-found friends, he goes on:

"This little warm-up we just finished would be an awful waste o' time if we didn't get in a real work-out after. And as for the cruniak, well, we only just met 'em a few days back. It'd be rude tae part company wi' 'em sae soon. They might get tae missin' us, an' then, well, I just wouldn't be able tae sleep wi' that hangin' o'er me heed."

Bjaki, the other Khord and a hell of a warrior, spoke up echoing his brother Khord’s words of accepting the mission. He didn’t doubt that the two Khords would agree to take this assignment; they seemed to support one another and any idea to join in a fight.

Talon took another sip of his ale before he would speak; his face showed neither excitement or disappointment but rather a appearance of acceptance of the inevitable.

“Aye,” he said nodding his head, “it would be a shame to not finish a job that we started.” He reached up and ran a finger along a fresh scar that ran along his right jaw line from just under his pointed ear down to almost his chin, “Besides there is a debt to be paid to the Cruniak and their kin.”

He had received that scar during one of the last battles and though Gamard’s magic had healed the damage it had left a scar which had given the Syl a wish for payback every time he saw his reflection.

“What say you now Crow?” He said to the Syl who had cautioned his friend Wan to wait and see who else might join the mission, “Are we suitable companions once more to battle the Cruniak menace?” He raised a brow, and though he didn’t smile, the tone of his voice would show he was poking a little fun at his new friend.

Hmmm, you stated we arent sitting at the same table Tann; but if so how can we have that celebatory farwell drink if we are not together?

I would think that since we have sort of become friends we would be together discussing if we were going to continue or go our own ways.

But I will go with whatever the general thought on the subject. Working on a post now should have something up later.

Subject: Leadership

Well, I have been silent up till now on the whole thing of Leadership; Here is my opinion:

Leadership can be a good thing in that the game moves along as the leader coordinates everything and instructs people in what they should do.

On the other hand, I think having a leader takes away from the individuality of the game. No one person knows how to best play all the characters so why should one person have all the say in things. Sure people will have different opinions on what should be done, but taht is what makes the game fun. Personally if people want to do different things then let them. If half the party wants to go this way and half that way then they should be able to chose for themselves. Of course if it is a mistake the DM will let them know by destroying half or all of the party to teach them a lesson.

Live is learning and the only way you learn is from your mistakes. So my vote is we go without a leader; and if later we think we need a leader then it should be decided In-Game with what the characters show and not here in OOC before the game has even started.

My 2 cents!

Subject: In case you were wondering

I have been playing several different characters from pure Heavy Warrior, to Lowly thief/assassin to full mage. Also pursuing different paths along the way. They are all fun and I havent played half of what is availalbe in this game.

The best I have done is with my heavy armor straight shielf and sword warrior. I pursued the dragon problem, which is the main quest (theme) of the game. I was able to complete the quest and rid Skyrim of the main problem, not going to throw out any spoilers by saying anything, and I did it all by level 23. It wasnt easy but I thought I did quite good.

Now on to other things as there are so many things and paths to explore I think you could play this game forever.

To all those that want this game and dont have it yet; Get It! You wont regret it!
