Subject: Daleel snaps out of it

Daleel dropped out of his daze. his plan hadn't worked out as he wanted. It did not involved getting squished by a full grown human. It was enough to put any self respecting halfling into a daze. At least in his mind.
He noticed everyone had gathered around the cellar door. Wondering what everyone was looking at he worked his way to the edge and looked down. People...slaves? They had to be. He noticed the symbol they were looking for on each persons arm. Well this isn't going to sit well with the others. "Well, this is interesting."

Daleel was worried about what was going to happen next. He wasn't for slavery himself, and it seemed as if some of the others were of the same opinion. This was a job though. They had to complete it. There would be consequences if they didn't. Wouldn't there? Perhaps they had this all wrong, maybe their employer was trying to save these people and couldn't do it himself. Not likely, but it was a thought. Well something had to be done.

"I don't suppose we have much time left to get the package out of here. Should some of us go down and see what we are dealing with?"

(OOC: so I am assuming these are slaves and our stolen "package". I guess one or two of us should go in the hole and talk to them to see what is going on and asses the best way to get them out of here.)

Subject: taking the reins

Airion was confused when he came back into the fighting. He swore that the toosl were left in the cell. When did the orc kin pick them up? He snapped out of his thoughts to see the fight over.
He started looking around at the scene. The orc kin was standing holding out two daggers and the fallen guards swords, Kyara was getting back to her feet along with Heironymus. Where was Ele? He saw her laying on the floor and heard her groan.
Then he heard more guards coming. It sounded like about four or five coming from another room. They had to get positioned for a defense and quickly. There wasn't much time.
He quickly moved over toward the orc kin and took both daggers and the swords. "These would have been helpful before this started. It may have prevented my partner from being harmed." He spoke a bit louder so the others could hear. "We have more guards coming, I'd say at least four, and not much time."

Arion turned toward Heironymus and handed him one of the swords, "Please attend to Ele. Try to get her stable and help us defend ourselves once she is." He slid one of the daggers into his boot and then turned toward Kyara. He held out the sword and the dagger. "Take your pick, I'll use what you leave me."

After Kyara chose her weapon he surveyed the room. He noticed the door that the guards would be coming in opened into the room. There was also a table and four chairs in the room. Arion threw the table onto it's side and positioned it between the door and Heironymus and Ele to give them some extra protection. "Orc kin! Help me break three of these chairs. We'll use the pieces to try to trip them as they enter the room." Arion was moving quickly but not as fast as his mind was. He couldn't keep up with his own thoughts.

After the three chairs were broken and positioned between the overturned table and the door, he placed the fourth chair along the wall just at the edge of what he hoped was the door's opening arc. He turned toward Kyara and the orc kin. "I want you two to position yourselves in front of the table. Draw them as far into the room as possible. I'm going to hide here behind the door and get the jump on them from behind."

(OOC: The weapon I have will depend on what Kyara chooses. The plan is to use the broken chairs to either trip up the incoming guards or make them go around them to get to the others. Hopefully, I have placed the chair right and they don't squish me entering the room.I guess now we just have to see what happens.)

first do I know which door the new guards are coming in?
If so does the door they are coming in open into the room or out of it?
Are there any tables or chairs in the room we are in currently?

Topic: M.V. Solstice Characters
Subject: Characters on leave

Weapons Spec. PrincessAli
Name: Angel Katarus (real name unknown)
Age: 20-23 (actual age unknown)
Race: Bappi (A humanoid, Bappis are set apart because of their animalistic and angelic qualities. Bappis have long wings that are directly connected to their spine between their shoulders blades, and are roughly seven feet from tip to tip when spread out. They can only use these wings to hover and glide, not fly; when not in use, the wings hang to the ankles. In addition, Bappis have claws instead of nails, and cannines a bit longer than humans do. Other than that, they have a humanoid appearance, and no other special skills.)
Qualifications: Angel spent several years with a merc ship doing odd missions for money, in which time she discovered her love for things that kill. She became extremely talented with any type of weapon that uses a scope, and is good dealing with rockets and quick-fire guns. However, she's pretty good with anything, and depsite her appearance, is someone you don't want to be your enemy. She quit the merc ship after the crew began fighting over the cuts of money they were getting and has done alot of odd work repairing others weapons and training newbies.
References: Captain Lee Fong (Old Merc Captain); Russel Hedrick, Caleb Neil, Shayla Betsun (All old students)
Personality: She's fairly quiet, but quick to smile and offer her hand, even if she has no idea what they're doing. Angel seems very naive and innocent, but when she's angry or trying to protect her friends, she's a cold-blooded killer with no emotion. When she's in her killer mode, she's beyond reasoning, and it's best to let her cool off on her own.
Physical description: At first glance, Angel is the typical stereotype of, well, an angel. She's tall and thin, with silver-white hair to her hips. She usually has her hair braided or pushed out of her face with a band; her eyes are the same blue as freezing water. Angel is also very pale, her skin almost as white as her hair, with a grey tint.
Angel's wings are the only colorful part of her. Their 6 1/2 feet from tip to tip when extended, and covered with shiny, healthy feathers (She grooms her wings twice a day with a special brush and soap). The top layer of feathers is deep indigo, the middle is a peachy cream, and the bottom a downy crimson. They largely reseble a tropical birds' wings; she's very protective of them, and will backhand anyone who touches them without permission.
Angel also has tattoos. On both arms (From her wrists to her elbows), are black, vine-like curved lines. She has no recollection of how she obtained these, or what they mean.
Backstory-
"I remember her being the scrawny teenager with the cold eyes and the face of an angel. But when we put a wepaon in that girl's hands, we realized what an asset she was." -Lee Fong, Ex-captain

Angel's memories start from when she was "16": an unnamed, unknown teenage girl with an innocent face and no memories. Her first memory is waiting for Captain Lee Fong to approve her for duty; her second is the first time she killed someone, defending one of her crewmates on Happy Star, her old merc ship. Angel trained with weapons for a long time on the ship; it made her the person she is today. Since no one really knew who she was, she was dubbed Angel Katarus by her crewmates. "Angel" for her appearance, "Katarus" because of a famous weapons trainer, who also happened to be a woman.
Three years on board the merc ship, and relationships became strained. The other crewmates accused Fong of keeping a bigger cut of the money they made for himself; the crew slowly broke apart and Angel was left on her own. Alone, without any money, and still confused of how society worked, she started repairing others' weapons using her knowledge of the different kinds, and teaching those who wanted to learn to fight

Witch Accalia
Name: Rowan
Age: 19
Race: Half Elf
Qualifications: Ryvan`s School of Magikal combat,2 years. Primary training school - Healing Magik, secondary training schools - Psionics and Technomancy. This will be her first job on a ship. Has some cooking experience.
References: Hazel who used to go to school with her, and Master Zane, the former Head Master
Personality: Shy around people she first meets, but after she gets to know them she`s perfectly fine...
Physical description: Blonde, hair cut like a boys, wears a dark cloak with a deep cowl that she hides in, pale, slight of build, wears a blue tank top and shorts under the cloak, and wears combat boots.

Subject: Recruitment is re-open

Hey folks! I hate to say this because I was hoping my current players would get back to me, but I have re-opened recruitment for my game.

I am in need of three players. I'm going to need a weapons specialist, a witch/warlock, and a pilot. There is also a possibility of a fourth player to fill the scout role, but is not necessary. There are more details if you read this thread from the beginning. You can also check out the Q&A, and the current character sheets.

Also you can check out the game so far. It has started and right now is waiting for the captain to introduce himself. However, I would like to have the full crew there for that.

So if anyone is interested check out the threads. Any questions you have just ask me. Thanks!

Subject: Daleel

Daleel looked down and saw the slice through his armor. There wasn't much he could do about it now. The plan didn't work as well as it should have, but he had learned to expect such.

When he looked back up he noticed only one gaurd left. One guard that was making a lot of ruckus. He also noticed one of the dwarves making a move to smash the leg of the table. If it worked the remaining gaurd would fall right into the rest of the team. Daleel decided being there when he fell would be fun. He held out his sword and dashed forward.

(OOC:So I figure that what Daleel is trying to do is get there before/as the table leg breaks and deliver an upward slash as the remaining guard falls to the floor and into the middle of Daleel's comrads)

Airion let the shackles and chain slip from his wrist. Kyara began to use it like a whip. He could see Heironymus moving to try to get behind the guard not engaged with the orc kin. Quickly he looked around for the spare set of shackles that the orc kin was carrying. He could not find them anywhere. That would make things more difficult, they could have at least been a defensive tool. It seemed as if it was a three on one battle against the one guard, but the orc kin stood alone. Their would be rescuer at least had a weapon though. Against trained guards none of them would last for long. They needed their equipment.

Without a second thought, Airion rushed back into the cell area and grabbed the theives' tools the orc kin had earlier. Now he just had to get to the chests containing their equipment.

(OOC:Airion plans to get the theives' tools, try to sneak throught the fighting to the chests containing the equipment and try to open them.)

Talo was holding a clip board and standing near a few shut down droids. "Looks like everything is in ...Oh no. Not again. Every time. Now where do that psycho hunk of tin get off to now?" He headed off to find a foreman. Halfway across the cargo bay he stopped to inspect the inventory sheet again. He had to make sure it wasn't checked out this time. He didn't want to be embarrassed like that time he was working on that asteroid trawler. He'd never live that down. He was about to start moving again when someone spoke to him.

"Excuse me, uh, I'm one of the field medics for the
Solstice and I was wondering where I was supposed to go. Can you help me?"

Talo kind of stared at the guy for a minute. "Well, I'm kind of in a hurry. I have to find a missing droid." Talo took a quick scan around the bay. "That door over there leads to the forward part of the ship. Med bay is up on the right." Talo turned slightly and started to walk away. "You can't get through that door without being cleared by security though"

Talo walked away from the medic looking in between and behind crates as he headed toward the foreman.

The forward door Castien tried to get into and the one the strange woman went through is the door being refered too. It and the door above it on the catwalks are the only two doors leading into the rest of the ship. Any other doors in the cargo bay lead to small storage areas.

Subject: the captain is summoned...

The workers and droids around the ship are busy as bees. Some are loading supplies, others are finishing last minute work. The final touches are being completed and the ship would soon be ready for it's first flight.

Out of the drone of the workers, a loud Bong was heard followed by a computerized female voice. "Captain Taggart, there is a visitor in your command room."

A few moments later a rather well dressed gentleman could be seen striding purposefully across the catwalks in the cargo bay heading toward the forward end of the ship. A rather unimposing man dressed in a low cost business suit carrying a clipboard and papers was following him. "Captain, we aren't done with the walkdown. Where are you going?" Behind him followed a stout dwarf with a long gray braided beard. He was dressed in a construction uniform and had the look of a seasoned worker.

The captain was easily outpacing both of the others. He quickly disappeared through the bulkhead door. The paperpusher looked frustrated and tried his best to keep up with the him. The dwarf was calm and kept his pace while glancing at a filiment screen.

So...it has been two weeks since I started the game thread. So far I have had two people post out of the five who are players. I also just found out one of my players has been banned. Sad to say it is the pilot so ship won't be able to take off until I find a new player.

I kind of expected a lessened amount of posting since school has started back up. I was hoping to have a few more posts than what I have gotten though. If you are too busy and can't post please at least let me know.

I am going to post a thread to recruit a new pilot. If I don't get any responses before next sunday (Sep. 20th) I am going to post for other players as well.

If you are currently listed as a player and find you do not have time to play at this time I will allow you to jump into the game at a later point when you do have time. I really like the characters that have been created and would like to se what you can do with them.

All this is assuming the game will still be running. Thanks!

Subject: Daleel tries to be sneaky

After the entire group was in the door Daleel moved up behind them. He knew this onslaught wouldn't be easy but they had to get it done quickly.

He listened as the dwarf handed out orders. Of course they wouldn't work. There was no way to get between the wall and the crates currently blocking them from sight, and they were stacked too high to climb over them. This would have to be a full frontal assault.

Daleel edged toward the end of the crates. His stealth was good, but not out in the open. He peeked to make sure the guard across the warehouse had his back turned and started moving around the crates. He was hoping that the other two had their backs turned as he came around the corner into the area they were in. If so he might at least get one of them and Argent and Echo could take out the other quickly. Then it would be luck that the archer and other dwarf could take out the one final one across the warehouse quickly.

(OOC: As Daleel comes around the corner he is using stealth and trying to be as sneaky as he can in an open area...if the two guards there have their backs turned he will sneak attack one and leave the other one to his two companions. If they are facing him and he is caught, he'll rush in to attack one of the guards.)

"Be ready for any treachery." Ele had whispered in his ear.

"I am ready, but I hope I am wrong." Airion replied.

He was beginning to get frustrated. They had no answers, no equipment, and no assurance of trust. He was hoping that getting to their equipment was in this orc blood's plan. Now they were just standing there. What was this so called rescuer waiting for?

"Not to be rude but you may want to grab your theives tools before we walk out of here. I will need them to retrieve our equipment."

Airion would have grabbed them himself if he wasn't shackled to Kyara.

A small personal craft landed at the base of the dock. A woman climbed out and made her way toward the cargo bay.

As she made her way past the new arrivals toward the forward bulkhead, everyone got a look at her. This was no ordinary woman. She wore a deep purple halter dress. The dress itself could barely be called such. What cloth did exist was sheer and revealing. It was a halter style with a very low back and a very high slit. It was form fitting to her voluptuous and toned body and left little to the imagination. She wore no shoes. Her skin was a pale blue and covered in white markings. Her head had purple striped horns and four purple striped tendrils hanging down.

As she passed the others some stopped what they were doing and watched others tried to look away feeling embarassed.

The mechanic caught sight of her as she arrived at the door he was just working to oopen. She made a pass with an access key similar to what all the other crew had received.

As if she knew Castien was watching her, she turned her head and smiled at him. The light glinting off of her purple eyes. She stepped through the doorway and it closed tight behind her.

Daleel unlocked the door and slowly opened it. As the door opened and he appeared to the rest of the group, he had one finger pressed to his lips to indicate silence. In a very low whisper he brought the others up to speed.
"Three guards, one just got up and is moving across the warehouse, may see us very soon. Crates line perimeter. Did not see what we came for, but didn't look very well. Far right corner there is a cellar door. Sorry I took so long, didn't want to be seen."

After he finished speaking, he moved out of the way so the others could make their way into the warehouse. He also drew his sword for the up coming fight.

"Slaves, not slaves, who cares. Right now we don't know jack. Lets wait until we have our hands on the cargo to see what we have."

Daleel was near the door they needed to go in readying his lockpick set. Things felt off. The area was too open. Something was bound to go wrong. He thought back to the window vents. Earlier he wasn't able to get in them for fear of making too much noise and getting caught. But now he had helpers who could give him a boost.

"There may be another way in. If I can get a boost onto the office roof and then up to a window I can get inside. Then I can make my way down and unlock the door so the rest of you may enter."

He didn't completely like the idea, especially not knowing what was inside the warehouse, but it was better than having the guard alerted.

"I'll try to be quick about getting to the door and getting it unlocked. Now who cares to give me a boost?"

Airion was not happy with the current situation. He was lost. He had no idea what the plan was. Well, other than other than shut up and cooperate. His questions weren't answered. He didn't know his rescuer. His rescuer seemed to know the guards. He had no weapons. Worst of all he had no assurances of his safety.

Airion spoke very quickly and quietly. "I for one am not pleased. It seems I need to cooperate in order to survive. I can't trust someone I don't even know their name. You will answer all our questions once we are in a secure place."

Airion slid in step behind the others, wishing he at least had a dagger.

Subject: Arrival

You arrive at the gates to Ralthion Shipyard. The most prestigious shipyard in the known universe. You make your way to the security checkpoint and scan your key card as you pass through. The atmopshere is so chaotic you wonder how things can get done around here. There are people, droids, cranes, cargo haulers, and other equipment rushing around everywhere. You notice a tram station and decide to take the safe way to the dock you need to get to. The tram arrives and you hop on telling the driver you need to get to dock 18E. "Next to last stop. Gonna take about 45 minutes. Enjoy the ride."

The seat is comfortable and you spend the ride gazing out the window at some of the other ships being built. Most of the ships are fairly small to medium size. You can see the skyhook that takes equipment to the orbital array to build the large class ships like the supercarriers. It all seems so interesting. As you pass by ships you can identify some of the classes, but then it hits you....you don't even know the class of the ship you will be on. Now the anticipation mounts and you hope it isn't something small like an outrunner. Gradually the commotion around you slows. The last few docks have been empty and there aren't many workers or equipment around. "Next stop Dock 18E, The Solstice"

As the tram comes to a stop you can see the ship stretching the lenght of the dock. You think it is a bit odd that it is the only ship out here. The last stop past this is the skyhook. You step out of the tram, thank the driver, driver and turn around to get as better view of the ship. Your jaw drops as you realize the ship before you is a Scion class multi-platform frigate. This thing was only suppose to exist as a model. They hadn't even laid a keel for a prototype yet.

The ship itself is a gunmetal gray with highlights of emerald green and cobalt. Clean, crisp edges give it an almost stealth like appearance. You can see several droids working on the hull in several places, sparks flying from the welders they are using. Some humans are looking over some drawings near the mid part of the ship. The most prominent feature of the ship is displayed here. A turret defense cannon rises from the mid section of the ship to point skyward. Wasn't there supposed to be one on the underside as well? Come to think of it this ship wasn't sitting on the ground like the ships you had seen on the way here. It seemed to be down below the dock. As you approach the edge of the dock to look down you realize the ship is floating in water. Isn't this a starship, not a sea going vessel. The questions are quickly piling up.

Looking over you notice a gangway leading to the open dual cargo bay of the ship........

Subject: Acceptance

Your interview with Captain Taggart went well. In your mind it did at least. He said if you were accepted you would receive notification and documents by courier, after all the interviews were concluded. Several days passed before a courier had you sign for a small package. The package was a manilla office envelope, the kind with the bubble wrap on the inside. The only thing on the outside of the package was your name written in calligraphy on the front. Inside the package there were several items. Upon dumping it out you discover a key card with a smart chip and a thumb print scanner. A small glass and metal tube on a lanyard. A typed up contract detailing your duties and expectations. A small filament transmitter screen. Finally, you find a hand written letter.

I am happy to inform you that your interview went well, and you have been accepted to join the crew of the Solstice. Captain Taggart has a few last minute details to work out before the ship is ready to leave on its first mission. However, I need to verify all the crew has accepted their commission before then. You have three days to fully read your contract and respond via the filament screen enclosed. Responding and accepting or declining your commission will move you on the the next step in the process. Thank you for your time and may your journeys aboard the Solstice be fruitful.

The bottom of the letter is signed simply with a capital letter D.

As you read through your contract it outlines many of the points the captain had gone over with you in your interview. However the contract goes into much more excruciating detail. After reading over it twice to make sure you didn't miss anything you pick up the filament screen and turn it on. The screen flickers as a loading icon comes into view.

As the loading icon clears a message appears Before we begin ensure that the access chip and key card are close by for activation purposes. You grab the last of the items that were in the package and press the next button in the lower corner of the screen.

Do you accept or decline the offer for commission aboard the Solstice? Please place your thumb over one of the choices below At the bottom of the screen you see the two boxes and place your thumb over the one labeled accept.

Thumb scan and acceptance confirmed. Solstice access key activated. This key allows access to teh ship, is a homing locator, and a distress beacon. Please keep the access key on your person when entering the ship to avoid being challenged by the onboard security protocalls. You notice the glass and metal tube now has a light glowing from inside it. You place the lanyard over your head and press the next button on the screen.

Please place thumb on keycard reader to verify identity.... You place your thumb on the reader of the keycard and the screen continues. Identity confirmed. Account with Centauron Prime Credit established. 5,000 credits deposited. The screen begins to scroll as more information is delivered. This initial advance is for whatever you wish to use it for but we hope you get some essential supplies. The key card holds your credit balance, medical history, contract information, and all the credentials you need as a member of the crew. This can be accessed at any computer for review.
