Kiirnon Talren
Red Dragon Inn
Monday night

Kiirnon had entered the Red Dragon Inn earlier this evening and was quite at ease. The welcome he received was kind and inviting. He wasn't run out of the establishment, even after he removed his hood and scarf, revealing his Drow heritage. The food was good and the drinks even better. The bar keep provided him with directions to the Red Wyrm School and a free drink on the house. After finishing his meal he enjoyed the music and entertainment for a bit. He couldn't help but notice the women in the establishment. Many were exotic, some a bit more normal, but all were beautiful. He knew he would have to come back here if he got the chance.

Kiirnon had already secured the room quickly after entering, as was his normal paranoid fashion. Then he took of his boots, travelling gear, and shirt. The candle light reflected off his skin revealing the shadowy areas of tattoos on his arms, chest, and back. He did a few stretches to get rid of the weariness from the road and practiced a few moves with his rapier. He stopped when he began to start feeling tired. He now sat at the small desk in the room he was in, jotting down his thoughts in the small journal he had kept in his pack. He recounted the journey here, and the difficulties he had. He wrote about missing his family, and what he might expect at the school. As he was writing he drifted off to sleep...

~*~

Kiirnon found himself on the outskirts of town. A samll child standing at the base of a large tree. He knew that today he was going to make it to the top. He reached up and grabbed one of the lower branches, and hauled himself up. The next brach was just out of reach and he had to overstretch to snag it. He came up just short and fell to the ground. He climbed back up and tried again, this time throwing himself at the branch and barely hanging on. He slowly worked himself up to the point where the braches would support his weight if he stood on them. This was higher than he had ever made it. His heart was racing as he continued to climb. He reached a point where he had to jump to the next sturdy branch. He steadied himself and leapt, landing on a cliff ledge.

The wind was wildly blowing Kiirnon's hair around. He stood facing into the wind and quickly, using a leather thong, tied his hair back into a small ponytail. He then steeled himself as he continued climbing the cliff face. It was a tough climb but he reveled in the excitment of it. He thought he could feel the pulse of the earth beneath him. When he reached the top, he pulled himself over and lay there staring at the sky. A young man enjoying the best nature could offer. When he was ready, he got to his feet and walked toward the center of the plateau he now stood on. At first glance the horizon was empty, but as he walked a building came into focus. When he reached the building he could see it wasn't small, but not very big either. He opened the door and was astonished. The place was huge on the inside. It looked like the grand entry hall of a Dwarven stornghold, but it was completely empty save for a statue on the far wall. As he walked toward the statue, he kept up his guard in case this was a trap. When he got close enough to the statue he realized that it wasn't a statue, but an Elven woman chained to the wall. She was beautiful and was wearing a dress of the finest material he had ever seen. She appeared to be asleep but he could not wake her. He immediately went to work on the locks holding her in place. As he defeated each lock he slowly lowered her to lay on the ground. He suddenly felt tired and layed down beside the woman he had just rescued.

Kiirnon woke up from his sleep, in his bed, next to the beautiful woman he had seen in his dream. He knew her, could trace the curves of her body in his mind. She smelled of spring always, and had a voice that sang to his soul. Of course he knew her, she was his wife, but he thought the dream strange because that is not how he met her. He snuck out of bed and got ready for the day. Today he and his friends would have things to do. After he was done getting ready he soflty kissed his wife on the forehead and walked out the door. When he got to the town square a few of the others were already waiting for him. The steely eyed monk, with the burning inner fire, was leaning against a statue. He gave Kiirnon a head nod as he approached. The she wolf sat nearby, and he wondered where her master could be. The others had not arrived yet, but he thought he could see one of the halflings aproaching from the other side of the square.

Kiirnon started to speak to the monk as a darkness enveloped the town and everything went quiet except the chirping of birds....

~*~

Kiirnon opened his eyes to find himself back in the room at the inn. He thought to himself that he had such a vivid dream. So much of it seemed familiar, but then again the only thing he knew was real was the tree from when he was young. He got up and quickly got dressed and began packing his things away. When he went to close his journal, he noticed a perfect sketch of the woman from his dreams. Below it were scrawled the words, "Tomorrow starts a new day, and a step closer to finding my place to fit in." He closed the book and threw it in his pack with a smile on his face. He headed down to the dining room of the inn for a bite to eat before leaving for the school. As he left, he pulled up his scarf and hood setting out along the road to the school as the sun broke the horizon.

I so absolutely adore all the delightful reality television shows that are out there. I love watching people sing and dance for money. The best part is at the end of the show when someone has to get voted off and you hope it's not someone you like.

Bleagh...stupid reality TV.

Topic: Mivara's Delirium
Subject: Spring into action

(OOC: This fits in right after the watcher leans agains the tree and before Seloust wakes up)

Kel is still feigning sleep when he hears the voice in his head warning him of danger. He has been observing and listening to what is going on in the camp. The minotaur was invited in and Mivara was speaking to him before she suddenly stopped and focused on something else. Her attention was drawn to the other side of the clearing in the woods. A form of something was out there and approaching quickly. It was almost mist like and Kel, as well as the others he assumed, could feel it's presence. It was evil. There was no doubt about that.

With a subtle movement Kel shifted his weight as he lay on the ground. Every muscle in his body colied and released as he sprang up to his feet and landed in a crouch facing toward the approaching threat. In a flourish of movement Kel twisted his torso to the left, kicked his left leg out and spun to the right on his right foot. His right hand went up to his shoulder and grabbed a throwing dagger. The leg he had kicked out swept wide and maintained his balance through the spin. As he came full circle he extended his arm and flicked his wrist using the full momentum of his spin to let the dagger fly. It flew true toward the mist form approaching the camp. Before the dagger closed half the distance to the creature Kel had drawn his swords and was in a crouched fighting stance, shadow seeping from his eyes.

The dagger closed the full distance to the creature and passed right through it to bury itself in a tree, with a resounding thud. The force of the throw would have killed and knocked any normal being off their feet.

Kel looked around at the others. Mivara and Jason were ready to fight. The Watcher was leaning against a tree with a knowing grin on his face. bah, he knows something about this The others were behind him and out of his sight. Kel's body was ready and on edge as the creature steadily approached closer. "Well, I was hoping that would have been more successful. Looks like it's going to ba an all out fight now." he said speaking to the entire group. He cocked his head toward Mivara, "Mivara, do you know what that thing is?"

Topic: Mivara's Delirium Q&A
Subject: ok ...starting to get confused

Well, first of all let me say welcome back to Mr. Conquest. I do agree with him things were moving a bit slowly, but it gave some of our characters a bit of time to interact and get a feel for each other. I think now we can move on to some action. However, not all roleplay has to be just about the action. Sometimes it is about interaction as well. We must keep that in mind.

Secondly, it was severly stupid to injure Seloust, especially when we have an unknown creature approaching us. The Minotaur could have easily stopped him as he needed to and the situation could have been calmed down by the other characters present. After all he was invited into the camp. I just think it could have been handled differently. Sometimes we need to think before our characters act. Besides Seloust was doing what any one else could have...attacking a "monster" he saw, and Jason probably would have attacked it too had he not been awake when it entered the camp.

Thirdly, what goes on in the Q/A can't be used in the posting. It isn't information our characters would know....therefore Jason has no clue that the creature that is approaching us is in a group, no clue there is a demon, and no clue that it is a shadow creature. I think it is great that KingTwilliam wants to move the story along, but it is Mivara's story. She needs to introduce the creatures we fight and the situations we get in. After that then we can take action as necessary.

I think there may be a lot of going ons behind the scenes with PM and such. That is normal stuff happens behind the scenes. However, I still hold that this is Mivara's game. If someone PM's her and gets permission to post an attacking creature or a situation we get into, then at least let us now OOC or in the Q/A. It would be helpful and would alleviate some confusion and frustrations.

That is my bit for now. Thanks for listening.

Kel laid down nearby to Rethia. He knew Jason was acting strange, but the kid kind of unnerved him anyway. However he could feel a strange presence coming from the woods. He needed some sleep though. When and if, it became a threat he would know. He drifted off and had fitful dreams about his past.
Kel was startled by a shout. Something too near and present to be his dreams. He lay there still, his eyes peered open just enough to see, and assesed the situation. Mivara was near the edge of the woods calmly speaking. Someone, no more like something, else had arrived at their camp. Jason had blades drawn and looked frantic. Kel maintained that he was still asleep, although at this point he was wide awake and on alert. His hands slipped down to the daggers resting on his hips. He was going to be ready in case things took a turn for the worst, because he could swear he just saw a Minotaur walk into the camp.

Kel glares at the Watcher as the man walks back toward the fire.

Turning back toward Rethia he reaches in the pockets of his cloak and pulls out a few herbs, a greenish looking paste, and a small bowl. "You know you fought well out there. I was glad to have you by my side. I am sorry you got hurt."

He proceeds to pinch off some of the herbs and put them in the bowl. He uses the butt of a dagger to grind them into a powder, to which he adds the greenish paste and a splash of water and begins mixing it together. "You don't have to stand watch you know. The Watcher doesn't sleep. Another strange custom of theirs. His senses are pretty well attuned too. He will let me know if there is any danger." After the concotion is mixed he offers the small bowl to Rethia. "This will take away some of your pain and help you to sleep for a few hours. It is the best I can do."

Before she can protest he says one last thing to her. "Sometimes a measure of trust must be shown to those we shall call our companions. Sleep well Huntress."

With that he makes an area to sleep a few feet away from her and lies down.

Subject: definately afternoon

the sun was rising when we exited the tunnel. I'd say after everyone's stories and discussion, Rethia and I went hunting about mid morning. Our hunt didn't last too long. So considering events it would probably be mid afternoon getting close to evening. this is also really the first meal any of us has had since the night before at least. I figure we should rest a bit longer. We need to gather our wits and come up with a plan. Mivara may know the area the best and where we should go to next. As far as Mr. Conquest's character Seloust, we should come u p with an idea for what happened to him. I don't think the *poof* he disappeared thing will work. Perhaps he went back to the inn, or went deeper into the forest to try to find clues about his past. This way if he comes back he can jump back into the story after catching up.

It seems as though we have hit a bit of a stand still. I think that is a bit because of the lack of posting last week. So far I do like how this is going though and I hope we can all keep it up.

Kel emerged from the woods looking quite refreshed, despite dragging a large load on what seemd to be a makeshift litter. He looks up at the sky noticing the sun beginning it's afternoon descent. thank the gods there are no dragons Scanning the campsite he noticed Jason sleeping, Mivara is just returning from the woods with her sword in hand, the Watcher is crouched at the edge of the clearing examining something and jotting in his book. The elf is nowhere to be found. He drags his load over to the camp fire and lays it down. After a quick stretch of his muscles, he makes an announcement.

"Well everyone lunch has arrived. I tell ya she put up a hell of a fight and went down hard. In the end though, her heart just wasn't in it."

He reached down and started undoing the wrapping on the load. "I hope everyone is in the mood for some rhino steaks. Rethia and I seasoned them before we wrapped them. She should be along shortly, she had to see to her companion." With that he made a smaller campfire and laid some large stones in the center. Keeping the flames low and heating the stones he used them to cook the steaks.

After he had cooked the steaks, he ate his share and then found a spot to settle in to rest. He looked at Mivara. "So, what happened to the elf? I was hoping to learn his name when I returned. Seems the only one he introduced himself to was you."

Kel sprints through the trees on alert for prey. He knows Rethia is close behind with her tiger. Suddenly the tiger is in front of him. He drops to a roll and springs back up in the opposite direction. He's sprintnig back toward Rethia with the tiger close behind. “Now do you like my way of hunting?” Rethia asks. Kel opens his mouth to respond when he hears a loud crash behind him. He skids to a stop a few yards from Rethia, turning his head to take in the scene as a rhino hits the tiger.

A cloud passes over the sun, casting deeper shadows over the forest. Kel fades from sight and reappears behind Rethia with a whisper in her ear before he is gone again. "I like your hunting style, my dear, but if you are hunting me you'll have to do better than that."

Kel reappears a few feet away, his swords drawn. The huntress notices him and turns her head. “Looks like dinner to me care to help me kill it before it kills my tiger.” Kel watches as she rushes in with her axes. I knew this was going to be fun. "Yes, lets save your friend."

Kel rushes in toward the rear of the rhino and slashes at the soft tissue of it's legs as he passes behind it. His blades bit deep on both rear legs and he hopes it was enough to sever the muscle there and hinder the rhino's movement. He skids to a stop, slowing his momentum as he turns to see the results.

Kel steps back a bit at the mention of the Watcher's book. "That book is his record. All he knows and sees is in there. However, Watcher's are observers and musn't interfere. He has sworn a sacred oath. If he shows anyone that book, fate would hang in the balance, and his oath would be broken." Kel paces back and forth a bit then continues. "This is for all of you, I know it may be tempting to want to see the Watcher's book. It is not a wise idea, and would most likely lead to your death."

He sits down cross legged near the fire Mivara makes. Rethia summons an amazing tiger. Jason tells his story. It is strange but Kel has noticed Jason's temperature dropping during the telling of everyone's tales.

After Jason's story is over and the elven man goes over toward Mivara, Kel stands and stretches. He walks over toward Mivara leans close to the man's ear and whispers, "When Rethia and I return, I would like to know your name as I am sure the rest of us would as well." Turning away he walks back toward Rethia with an almost feral smile as his eyes begin to turn black. "Yes, I believe we shall hunt now." With that he dances a bit around Rethia and her animal companion then dashes into the woods. this is going to be fun

Kel turns away from Mivara as the Watcher shows his open palms to her. "I do beleive, what this fellow is trying to say is that he is just here to observe and record." He reaches into his robes and pulls out a flask, taking a deep swig. "You see I've dealt with Watchers before. A strange group they are, lots of customs and such, and most of them don't talk."

He walks a bit, milling around the group. "So I guess it is time for my story. Well, there isn't much to say really. I work at a weapons shop and provide security for a local tavern in my city. I have a shaded past that I am not always proud of but, I welcome the knowledge and wisdom I gained from it. As for why I am here, I heard a child's voice in a dream telling me my assistance was needed and calling me by a name I have not heard for what seems like ages. I came to figure out what the situation was and I'm still here because I haven't found the answer and duty binds me."

He walks over to Rethia and stops before her, a slight grin spread across his lips as he bows slightly before her. "Huntress, would you join me in hunting down some food. We need to rest and eat before we continue on"
