Topic: Mivara's Delirium
Subject: the escape is good but for how long...

Kel watches as the others start heading toward the basement. He slowly backs toward the basement door, while keeping his eyes toward the sky. Blending into the shadows and nearly disappearing he waits. All the others are below but Jason. Kel hears someone pounding on the walls below and then hears the distinct sound of stone grinding against stone. Perhaps there is a passage down there. Then he swears he hears Mivara say something about more dragons. Now how exactly would she know that? Jason spins about still searching. All of a sudden he dashes toward a wall and grabs a sword lying there. I don't remeber seeing that before. After grabbing the sword Jason runs down into the basement. Kel takes one last look up, steps out of the shadows, and heads down himself.

The basement is empty and a tunnel is open in the back wall. Kel welcomes the darkness as he steps into the tunnel and draws his swords. He doesn't expect trouble, but he isn't taking any chances. He takes his time reveling in the dark as he slowly makes his way toward the group. He stays back a bit from the main group. If anything happens to follow them down this tunnel, it will have to make it past him first.

Finally he can see Mivara start to ascend and the others follow closely behind. When he gets to the ladder he quickly climbs up and comes out into a clearing with the others standing around. It seems now everyone is looking toward Mivara for answers.

"Mivara, you have gotten us away from the immediate threat. For that I at least thank you" He pauses a moment looking at each of the others. He stares at the Watcher a bit longer before addressing the group. "We are past the immediate danger. However, I think we need to know a bit about each other before we can continue with anything. Why are we each here, what are our skills, and how we can best work together?"

He stops talking and walks up to Mivara, taking her a bit aside from the rest of the group. He is speaking to her but low enough so the others can't hear.

Kel is slightly calmed by a voice in his head. He now knows his allies are formidable. He has a strange feeling that fate is rearing it's ugly hand though. we still need a plan and soon

Subject: out of the frying pan, into the fire

(Ooc: I'm trying to make this a bit more simple for me. Everything I say will be in blue, things i hear or other people say will be in green, and any personal thoughts of mine will be in black. I'm hoping this will make things a bit easier. Just let me know if anyone is bothered by it. I'll also make my Ooc's bold)

Kel uprights a barstool at the back of the inn and sits down. A robed half-elf, holding a large black sword, appears from the basement introducing herself as Mivara Silvershadow. she seems kind of interesting and bedable too, just like the Huntress.

Before he can speak the ground begins to shake and everyone looks up to see a large red dragon. "Oh great, just what we need!" especially with people whose skills I don't know, and don't know if I can trust.

The watcher puts away his book and stands, slowly backing toward a corner. "What have I gotten myself into?" I should have stayed home with Riniel.

He can feel the fear creeping in, as someone runs in the door side stepping the Huntress, and babling about who he is. Then the newcomer starts searching the walls. "Jason, I assume you are looking for a weapon since you seem not to have one other than that dagger. I'm not sure you will find one here with the condition of this place."

Kel looks aroung the room as he jumps off the stool and lands nimbly on his toes. He reaches under his cloak and pulls out his swords. "Well, does anyone have any suggestions. This will be a terrible fight if we have to engage that monster."

He looks toward the watcher, but speaks to the whole group. "I can get one of you out of here maybe two, but I fear that may be all the time I have. My honor prevents me from doing that, so I vote to fight but we need a plan, now."

Subject: whew that could have gone worse

Kel held his ground behind the woman. He was tense, yet excited, ready for a fight. His senses were heightened ready for anything. He drew in everything, including the scent of the huntress. She was tempting, but he had to focus on the situation. He heard shouting from behind him, but passed it off. He could handle that situation in a moment. Glancing over her shoulder he noticed the Monk's open robe and the tattoo exposed there. A sigh of recognition escaped his lips, as the huntress lowered her weapon and spoke to him.

He gave a slight nod to the Watcher and stepped back, while sheathing his stilettos. "Huntress, forgive my initial appraisal of the situation. I thought the threat to this man's life was justified in my reaction."

Turning to the now sitting Watcher he performed a precise ritual bow. "Watcher, Forgive my rudeness at my initial greeting. I hope you have travelled well."

Kel stood back up, stretched a bit, and turned back toward the huntress. "You are well met Rethia. I am Kel'varesh Sul'tarin. I would have welcomed the challenge in fighting you. It would have been......arousing." A sultry smile crossed his face. "I myself was summoned here. By whom or for what reason, I know not. Invading the privacy of what you call home was not my intention."

A sound outside the inn caught his attention. Turning toward it he could make out someone lying on the ground. He walked to the door, and said with a calm voice, "Whoever is out there, come in and join the party so I don't have to come get you."

Kel began walking back toward the bar, keeping an eye on the observing watcher. As he passed the huntress, he asked her a simple question. "Shall we now deal with your belligerent guest near the basement?"

Topic: Mivara's Delirium
Subject: Moving Shadows

Kel'varesh was laying in bed with Riniel, his favorite serving girl from the Dripping Dagger, nuzzled against his chest, when the vision came to him. Everything was so vivid. His feelings were pervaded with senses of danger, loss, agony, sadness and curiosity. He was standing in an inn, but it looked abandoned and dilapidated. Things were coming quickly, and he took in as much info as he could. The door leading to what seemed like a basement, and the log lying near it. The three sets of footprints in the settled dust. The bar along the far wall. Recently moved chairs in the corner. There was faint red moonlight filtering through the broken windows casting shadows throughout the room, and a heavy mist permeating everything. As his vision was beginning to fade, he saw a woman near the door with a blade at a monk's throat, and the voice of a young girl "Your assistance is required Bol Eilaer, come quickly."

As Kel came out of his trance, Riniel squirmed and shifted positions. She was beautiful and he loved watching her, but loved bedding her even more. The vision was nagging him though. No one had called him by that name in ages. At least well before the ritual took place, and how would some child from a place he had never been know that name. He knew he had to answer this summons. He slowly shifted Riniel's position a bit more to crawl out of the bed. She would understand when she woke up and found him gone. She would take care of his home and assets while he was gone, as she had before. This wasn't the first time he had left her like this and their arrangement was beneficial for both of them. He walked into his closet and put on his breeches and shirt. He walked to the corner and triggered a hidden catch opening the door to a secret stairwell leading down beneath his home. In the hidden chamber he surveyed the room thinking of the things he would need.

He stepped into the chamber, took a few steps toward a large armoire and opened it. Taking out his armor he began to don it making sure it was ready for combat if need be. He pulled back his ash blonde hair, and braided it's full length. As he pulled on his dark crimson gloves he felt their energy meld with his. He pulled on his boots, and started walking clockwise around the chamber picking up weapons he thought he would need from tables and racks. As he went, he meticulously placed them on his body where he needed them. His tonfa swords in their custom sheath he put on his back last. Then after slipping into his cloak, he walked through a hidden tunnel and emerged in an alley a block away from his home.

Kel knew where he wanted to be. He walked through the city to the dock district. There were plenty of lights there to create shadows, and just the thing he needed. He stopped briefly at the entrance to the Dripping Dagger and gave a nod to Razael, the owner. When he arrived at the docks he found a storehouse with just the right amount of shadow. As he walked toward the shadows, his amethyst eyes began to turn as dark as the shadows themselves, slowly spreading across his face, darkening his hair, and fully enveloping his body until he was the shadow he had been walking into.

He emerged from the shadows, a stiletto in each hand, near the bar at the back of the dilapidated inn. He could now tell it seemed to be deep in a forest. The same senses he felt in the vision reached him now. He melted into and out of the shadows, not making a sound. He was quickly making his way toward the woman and her prey. He noticed she was like him, in racial features at least. It would at least make her a worthy opponent should things not go well. Then he was behind her and in an instant had his blades poised for killing strikes. His left hand holding a blade at her kidney, and his right holding the other at the base of her skull. He leaned forward and in a playful, somewhat sensuous manner whispered in her ear "Sweet huntress, if you value your life, stay your blade and release the monk."

Subject: Making beautiful music

"You had my thoughts exactly Steelight"

*reaches into his pack and pulls out two items. One a long and slender case, made of cherry wood and extensively etched with runes. The other, a box about the size of his palm made of teak wood with delicate knotwork carved into it, with a top of mesh metal.*

"I don't believe I have played for an audience in quite a while."

*undoing the latch on the thin box, he opens the lid exposing a beautiful ebony wood flute. He places it to his lips and blows softly as his fingers glide over the key holes adding a haunting backtone to the oriental melody Steelight plays.*

*a chittering sound is heard from the unopened box*

"Ah, I was hoping she would wake up to bless us with her music"

*he undoes the clasp on the small box and opens it. after a moment a small strange creature, looking like a scorpion with small dragon wings crawls out of the box, carefully clambers up his arm and comes to rest on his shoulder*

"She found me one night while I was playing. She seems to love the sound of my music and has stayed with me since. I've named her Seraphina. It believe it fits her."

*As he begins playing again, the creature spreads it wings slowly pumping them with the beat of the music. She begins to rub her claws together as a sound akin to a viola emits from her body, blending perfectly with the flute playing.*

"So I think we should play something a bit upbeat. I'm in a playful mood, and I don't think it is a good night for a brawl. Shall we get started?"

*listens closely as Ion describes the drink, then smiles and drains the glass*

Oooh..now that tingles. Delicious drink. I love it. What do I owe ya? *stands reaching into my bag and pulls out a small coin pouch and hands it to Ion* I suppose this may be enough to cover it and a decent tip. If not let me know. Speaking of, the next round for everyone at this table is on me. Meri tells me you dance for tips, personally I think I'd prefer to see her dance but, would love to see what ya do.

Well met Eol. You must be the one Meri warned me about. I don't taste bad do I? Your greeting reminds me of home. My family pet will not let anyone in the door 'til she has given you a proper licking. Strange that I'm the only one in the family she doesn't just stop at the face with. So... Well, have a seat and join us for a round.

*tenses a bit at the closeness of this stranger. Brushes the loose strands of hair away from my face and notice how attractive she is. Inhales deeply as she introduces herself. Muscles relax, as the thought runs through my mind of how delicious she smells*

*smiles, slightly biting lower lip* Hello Meri. A pleasure to meet you. Thank you for the tip about the guy in the nutty hat. I'll be on the lookout. I apologize for being a bit tense. I'm not usually good around people. Thanks for making me feel welcome. Is that your role, well I mean umm...a hostess of sorts. Oh and you have me curious, what exactly is the Grugg?

*relaxes completely and notices someone in a rather strange hat approaching*

Subject: Good day all! Sorry I am late!

*slowly pulls back hood as I step in from the rain, and look around for an empty table*

First I would like to say hello to everyone here at the Inn. I am sorry for my lateness. Even at the behest of Steelight to introduce myself, it slipped my mind.

I am not a very big gamer. I played a bit when I was younger and got out of it because of life and lack of friends to play with. I want to get back into it though. I think this is a good start. Hopefully, I'm right.

I have an open imagination and love a good story. I'm a bit shy, but open up around friends and people I feel comfortable with. There isn't much that offends me.

*finds an empty table in the corner and takes a seat*

Well, I suppose that'll do for now. Feel free to stop by my table and chat anytime.

So, I know I am not playing the game, and probably shouldn't post here, but I felt like doing it anyway. Steelight can tell me to stop if he wants. I have the great privelage of observing this game and seeing Realms of Twilight progress before my eyes. I am impressed. I like the characters each of you have and eagerly await each of their actions. I anxiously await each new post to find out where the story is going. Well, I suppose that is all for now. Good luck everyone!

I love this legend. It is well written and I can tell had a lot of thought put into it. It has drawn me in and has me begging for more. I am very interested in finding out more about the land and creatures inhabiting it. Looking forward to the book release.
