Hey! I just wanted to let those who care that I am on vacation right now. I am going to visit family this weekend and a few days next week. I may or may not have internet access. I'll be back to my normal posting and such when I return. Thanks!

Daleel was still a bit nervous around this new crew. He wasn't sure what to expect from any of them but he was ready to figure it out. He was happy to know he could communicate in more than one language with at least half the others. He was a bit worried about the last member though, he seemed a bit clumsy.

Daleel still sat in his chair while the job was being discussed. He spoke up quietly "I'll see what I can find out about the brand. Is there anything else I should try to get information on?"

Needing to confirm his suspicions he blurted out another quick question, directed to the man leaning against the wall. "I have heard of you. Umm...you're Echo right?"

I'm working with the ship's captain to finish up the outfitting of the ship. He will be contacting each of you that has shown interest for a short interview. you know so he can get to know ya and feel comfy about you.

Since I don't want magic to be too powerful and out of control, I have been working on a few "ground rules" to run by. I have almost completed this and will post it soon. This will mainly concern the witch and possibly the captain.

I am still waiting for a weapons specialist and a medic....so if you know anyone who might be interested send them here to check it out.

Again I think this will be a lot of fun and I hope to get it started soon. Thanks!

Subject: fashionably late

Daleel had received his orders when he returned from his previous mission. It seemed in a few days he was to meet with a few other guild members and awiat their next mission. He had a few days to relax and took care of some personal things while he had the down time.

Daleel was approaching the meeting room in the guild house when he heard voices already. Damn I'm late. Well as long as I'm not the last, I guess that is ok. Hopefully I'm not the last. Daleel prefered working with people he was familiar with, but that wasn't always the case. He approached the room quietly and stopped just at the door frame. Pulling his mirror out of his belt pouch he carefully used it to peek around the corner into the room. He saw two dwarves just sitting down and a human already seated. well at least they aren't all going to be tall He also noticed someone leaning against the wall but couldn't tell much more from where he was.

Daleel stepped back from the door a bit and placed his mirror back in the pouch. He took in a deep breath, exhaled and stepped around the corner.

The halfling stepped into the room just after the dwarves had sat down. He wore a long blue scarf around his neck and several layers of clothing all accented in blue. His hair was a curly sandy blonde and well kempt. His light gray eyes reflected the light in the room and he seemed a bit nervous. At first glace it looked as though he carried no weapons, but with closer inspection you could see the bottom af a scabbard poking out from his clothing.

"Hi ya! Umm, I'm not late am I? Oh I hate being late." Daleel went on nervously. He made his way around the room looking for a place to sit. He got a good look at the man standing agains tthe wall now. From descriptions he had heard this man looked like the one they called Echo. He wasn't sure though. He tried to place the others, but didn't recognize any of them. well, so much for working with someone I know

Daleel took a spot close to the dwarves and human, but not too close. "Does anyone know why we are here?" He waited a moment for a response and then his manners caught up with him. "I'm sorry" he stammered "I'm Daleel, everyone calls me Skit. Nice to be working with you."

See the joy of the way I want to run my game is creativity.
All races from fantasy, sci-fi, and even made up are acceptable as long as they can be justified.

Elves, gnomes, dwarves, orc, humans, klingon, vulcan, ferengi, wookie, ewok, vampire, lycanthropes, etc...you name it i'll consider it.

keep in mind though this will be set in space and different creatures may react differently on different worlds.

So about this magic beginning.... origin of all magic or a particular character learning magic, what are you trying to go for?

as I said in your introduction thread here ...we are a great family. We can help you and be there for you when you need help or someone to talk to.

I had confidence issues when I was younger. The best advice I can give is that no matter what anyone else thinks of you always be yourself. What really matters is that you are happy with you. Don't try to be what others want you to be.

I used to try to be what everyone else wanted. To get them to like me and be my friends. When I realized it made me feel bad I stopped. I started becoming me again and I found people liked that more and I ended up with a lot more friends. Those friends cared about me and ultimately helped me gain confidence.

Mixmoff sounds like you have some good background. If you would like to try the mechanic/tech you got it.

I am neither anti-noob nor anti-veteran. I hope to have a good mix of both for the game.

I myself am fairly new to play by post and just getting back into roleplaying in general.

Accalia, with free form the rules are usually very general. It isn't as strict as a rules based game which in turn allows for a high level of creativity. There are going some rules however as I don't want the adventure to be too easy. The biggest rule is no GOD characters. In other words no charcter who could kill an army in one spell or take out the villian on his/her own.

The witch position is not yet taken so you could play that and my co-DM is helping me hash out some of the magic "rules". We will have more on that soon.

What I meant by well versed is basically at least know what you are talking about and have some history in the field. Don't have your character come in to be the medic and never have been trained in the feild, or don't claim to be the weapons specialist if you have only ever handled on gun. Make sense?

Well if the hits keep coming like this I may actually be able to get this game going soon. If anyone else has any questions please post here or PM me directly. thanks!

Have confidence in yourself.

I have drawings and sketches I made when I was younger. Character profiles, short poems, and stories too. All of this is in a binder and I keep it there and add to it when I can. It is a story I have been working on for years. If I can ever blend it all together i think it will make a great series of books. Some day I will get it done.

Don't give up on something creative it is the best way to express yourself. And never ever think that you aren't good enough.

The druid sitting at the table alone had gotten up and moved closer when the gnome said they were all there to meet with him. He listened to the story the gnome told. He was intrigued. He listened to the counterpoint the red headed one put up. why must it also be about compensation He knew he had been called here for a reason. It seemed that this cause was just. He knew he may lose his life but he thought it woudl be worth it.

"It may seem like insurmountable odds but I am willing to face them. I am known as Dûrion and I shall join in on this quest."

Dûrion reached down tot he table and gently picked up the _______ stone in front of him. It was beautiful and eminated power. He opened up his one of his belt pouches and palced the stone inside. "Unless there is more to discuss at this moment, I need to get some rest."

Dûrion excused himself from the table and started heading slowly toward the door intending to return to the clearing where his companion was waiting.

OOC: not know which of the two druid stones Dûrion is to receive I left the color blank for now.

Hey! LARP is great as long as it stays in the game and seperate from RL.
I one knew a group who played VTM and got so into it they thought that their RL was the GM. So much so that they all got together one night and filed their teeth to points with metal files. that didn't go over so well. Anyway!

So all in all are you nerdy for that no, but who is to classify people. I think we are all a little off and I think that is good. It makes us unique.

Anyway! Welcome to the Inn! I'm fairly new here myself. I have found that this is a great group of people and a great family. There are a lot of great games here too. I lurk alot and really enjoy reading some of the games going on. (Trilogy War, Rocinate, CWWLLO, NS of Itanlok, just to name a few) Well, Have a good time here and really enjoy yourself. Happy adverturing!

Airion's heart was in his chest when he was talking to the guards at hte gate. He wasn't usually the one to be talking to anyone. Usually that was someone else's forte. Luckily the ladies joined in and they made safe passage into the city.

His insticts kicked in shortly after entering the city. Even without Ele's suggestion he was already mapping out their paths in his head. He wasn't sure they were very welcome here and wanted to make sure he could get himself and at least Ele out of here if necessary.

Heironymus addressed the group. "The merchants guild seems like the logical choice as that is where we were hired. Certainly people there would know him. Plus, (Assuming here) the guild is logically in the merchants quarter, so it should take us in the right direction anyway. I would suggest we go to the guild and start asking around, although I wouldn't mention the nature of the message to anyone but the recipient. I begin to wonder if even he is not what he seemed at first."

It worried Airion a bit that this cleric was weary of the merchant now, but then again they had no clue who to trust. "I agree, if you originally recieved your job from the merchant guild then it would be a great place to start. Hopefully this won't take us very long. I'm a bit worried about being here."

Airion looked around and noticed that he and Ele seemed to be getting many different looks from the citizen in the city. Not all of them good. Turning back toward Kyara and Heironymus, "Well, let's get going. I suppose you two should lead the way."

Kiirnon wasn't sure what to do now. He had upset this poor little girl by saying he wasn't her mother. Darkon tried to help calm her down and that wasn't working either. The combat instructor left and went to talk with the headmaster. This was not going well at all. everyone at the Red Dragon was starting to notice them and the situation.

With darkon kneeling next to him, Kiirnon turned toward hima, but spoke low enough so the girl shouldn't be able to hear. "Darkon, I have an idea but I may need some help if she resists me. Just help out if you can."

Kiirnon remebered how his little sister used to throw tantrums. He would always pick her up and cradle her while her carried her to the ice cream shop.

With that thought in his head he looked at the little girl remebering now to look directly into her eyes. He took her hand in his "I have a surprise for you. Will yo ulet me take you to where it is?"

OOC: This next part is assuming she allows me to scoop her up and carry her to the bar. I'm trying to get the game going again. If anyone has a better idea let me know and I will change this post.

Kiirnon picks small girl up and cradles her to his chest and carries her to the bar. He gently sets her down on one of the bar stools and gets the attention of the bar maid. "Two of your finest ice cream sundaes please, with extra cherries on top."

I have come up with a concept for a game I want to run. I think it will be fun and interesting.

The concept combines a lot of different aspects. Most of the game will be Science Fiction with a melding of Fantasy. I like the concept of magic and technology working together. However, I will have to impose some limits. Magic won't be as strong as it probably is in true fantasy.

The basis of the game will be based on a mercenary crew manning a star ship and doing jobs for a "contractor". This contractor has bought the ship, outfitted it, and commissioned a captain. Once the ship has a crew and is christened, it will belong to the captain. The captain and crew can pursue their own endeavors from smuggling, escorting, bounty hunting, or patrolling. The options are numerous. However the "contractor" fully expects that when he has a job for the captain, it will be top priority.

In a manner of speaking, initially the world is wide open. I will be creating galaxies, planets, space stations, and other ships, NPC's, and technologies. This is also going to allow the PC's to initially be very open to all possibilities. In so much as you can be anything you want. I am opening this to most know races throughout sci-fi and fantasy genres. I'll even allow you to create your own race as long as you describe it to me and it is balanced. I will not allow GOD characters. The same will go for weapons and technology.

In all I think this will be able to dip into lots of realms, because it can associate with many of them. The two that pop into my head first and foremost are Serenity and Star Wars.

This will be a free form since there is no set rule base for this game. I know what your thinking...most free forms don't do very well. I hope to change that thinking. This will be my first time running a game, but I have some help from another member of the Inn so we can keep it on track and I can learn.

Basic rules:
No GOD characters
Any race, weapon, magic,or technology as long as it is reasonable.
Decent well thought posts, at least a paragraph.
Consistent posting.
If you have an issue and can't make a post, let me know.

More in depth details will be posted after the wanted advertisement...

"I'll need to get into my pack to get them." Airion states as he slowly removes his pack and sets it on the ground. Carefully removing the letter for the merchant, he shows it to the guards.

"I am afraid I can not show you anymore than the envelope. The package is warded and can only be opened by the merchant whose name is written there."

Airion holds the letter in his palms face up with the merchant's name where they can see it. "I am sorry I cannot provide anymore information, but I am just a messenger. I was told the contents are not my business."

Airion is impressed by the carvings of the walls of the city. They are very different from what he is used to seeing. He travels along the wall toward the gate along with the rest of the group, keeping his eyes fixed on the carvings. Upon nearing the gates Airion hears someone call out "Hey! You there!"

Airion looked around but did not catch where the voice had come from. He continues walking with Ele, following Kyara and Heironimus as he notices the crowd of farmers and merchants making a clear path. Suddenly ahead of them he sees two guards coming straight for the small group. The group comes to a stop just as the gaurds arrive before them. The guards are on edge and are ready to draw their weapons. this does not bode well for us

One of the guards speaks to Airion and Ele directly. "Who are you and what business do you have in the city?"

Airion notices these guards are more than ready for a fight. He opts not to reach for his weapons and instead folds his hands over each other and offers a slight bow to the guard addressing them. "I am Airion and this is Elemmire, we are messengers from Bevaris representing House I'sorin. We are delivering trade documents to a merchant here in the city. The ranger and cleric here met us half way to escort us into the city and to the merchant we are to meet with. We simply ask for safe passage into the city so we may conclude our assignment."

Subject: well, this is interesting....

Airion awoke just before Selene, the white moon, broke the horizon. He tried to stretch as much as his wounds and bandages would allow. Heironymus had done an excellent job putting him back together. He still felt some pain which was probably to be expected, but at least he wasn't on the verge of passing out.

Speaking of passing out, Airion remembered that last night they were discussing splitting the group. Looking around he noticed that all four of them were still there. Perhaps the ladies were going to wait to leave this morning.

As the others started to stir, Airion felt the pangs of hunger creeping up on him. He went to his pack and began to rifle through it looking for something to eat. None of his things were where he had put them, but thankfully everything was still there. I suppose I am lucky they left me anything at all Airion found some jerky and pulled it out to snack on before they ate a more substantial breakfast. As he was rooting around in his pack he found another letter. This one written in elvish. He read it then quickly tucked it away in his shirt until the others were up and coherent. she is not going to be pleased by this

Soon the rest of the group was up and functioning without the haze of sleep surrounding them. Airion made his way over to Kyara. He removed the letter from his pack and held it out to her. "I found this in my pack this morning. I believe it is for you. I am sorry."

The letter, written in elvish, said simply "The horse will sell for a pretty penny. You have my thanks for the gift."

Airion didn't really know what else to say. He bowed his head to Kyara and walked away to go talk with Ele.
