Stardate 2365.02.08
USS Peregrine, Engineering -0950

Karri sighed as she entered engineering, it was becoming as comfortable as a second home.

Not wasting any time, making note of the shift change on the roster signing in. Karri went over the previous shifts scans for the shields Akig the shield system tec had done. Karri made a minor correction, nothing drastic just a simple clerical error. then went over the impulse drives scans just for good measure.

naught that their was much to really help out with. Karri had to admit Commander Thorson run a tight crew. Even if poor Toporov an Akig tended to get the bottom rung as it were, an Davis was kind of an instigator for mischief. Karri chuckled an wondered if changing Davis's nickname to that of one of Thorson's deities, the one called Floke... or was it Loke? would seem rather appropriate for the technician.

Having finished going over the previous shifts files Karri began running the scans for her shift an filing the last of the bulkhead scans she'd done last shift. Karri sighed, it was good to be back at the 'office'.

USS Peregrine - personel quarters 0820

karri woke up with a groan, She'd slept hard an her head pounded as if she was hungover. Karri was almost tempted to have a stiff drink to see if it made her feel better. Karri chuckkled then winced thinking of her temper. Best have a clear head, even if it did hurt.

USS Peregrine - mess 0930

Karri in uniform ordered a simple egg breakfast with a large steeped tea. it was a Caitian plant akin to both earths catnip an chamomile. Karri wondered if either effect canceled the other out, she'd ask if the chief science officer could refine it anymore. Karri sipped her tea wondering at what point a herbal remedy would be considered a drug?
Karri sat reading a Klingon Saga on a PADD while she ate leisurely, simply wasting time.

Karri's com chirped starting her slightly.

"Thorson to Lieutenant Sa'eridon," he said. "Lieutenant, sorry again to interrupt your time off, but Engineering is becoming very popular today, and I wonder if I could have your assistance. I'll get Lieutenant Morgan to cover your shift tomorrow."

"no problems sir." Karri grinned at the prospect of some decent work. Quickly finishing her meal an heading to engineering.

Stardate 2365.02.07
USS Peregrine; Karri's Quarters - 2233

The rest of her day after completing the scans of the pod seemed so mundane after all the excitement previous. Karri had eaten a lackluster meal, some how eavesdropping several conversation of how excited the person was to be docking at station 118. Karri momentary toyed with the notion of asking for leave an going carousing, but she shrugged it off. It would be hectic with to many people, crowds had always made her nervous. Karri had once slugged an ensine who made a quipping joke about some long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Had Karri not been agitated being cornered in a throng of crowd at the time. she'd probably have realized it wasn't a personal affront, only a simple anecdotal metaphor that humans seem to enjoy as comedic off set to ease the tension an lighten the mood. Then again Karri snickered, that ensine had been an irritation to her the entire mission, she probably would have ended up hitting him anyways.

Walking back to her quarters Karri mussed how easily she'd grown accustom to avoiding contact with much of the small ships crew. Giving way in corridor's, avoiding unnecessary conversation unless it was work related, it kept the "incidents"down. (at least that's what star-fleet had called them, karri always felt they were blowing things out of proportion, she never hit them hard. the one Lieutenant had broke his orbital bone falling down ... after she'd hit him. that wasn't completely her fault, sure he probably wouldn't have fell other wise but you never know...)

Karri spent the rest of the day lay on her bed reading a translated Klingon Saga, some how they always had war an love in them. Stretching an rubbing her eyes with a yawn Karri tossed the PADD aside a curled up pulling the thin quilt over her an went to sleep.

ok thank you...
just itching to get to work...

might have to find some yarn.. idk if that's ironic or just cliche?

what types of entertainment tec would be available? would movies/tv/games/books ect be all data streamed onto personal monitors in quarters? or would it be more everyone would have a tablet an upload what they want or can find??
its odd to wonder at how relevant current tec would evolve or how prevalent it would become, to the point of becoming obscure in the future.

Karri sat on the cargo bay floor trying to angle the scanner a little more accurately, tapping the pad she sighed an gave in. finalizing the report she stood up an stretched with a exasperated sigh. the scans had take a bit to do, Karri sent the scans an analysis reports to Commander Thorson with a status note that if needed she'd be either in mess or in quarters.

let me know if i'm not addressing Thorson properly?

Duncan74 that was a epic post!!

ugg that was so hard to write an NOT ask Thorson if he was alright...
but asking a higher officer if their alright when no outward signs are given would be seen as undermining them?

Stardate 2365.02.07
USS Peregrine, Cargo Bay One - 1300

Karri was greeted to a most interesting show, watching commander Thorson personally work on the pod.

"Lieutenant, thanks very much for helping us out on your off time. I hate to impose, but you're my best person with scanning. I wonder if you could spend some time going over that pod, now that the containment field is down. We still have a couple of hours before we reach the starbase, and I have a feeling we can learn a lot more about their engineering than we already have. I'm sure Science and Medical will have their own people here, so I'd appreciate it if you could carry the flag for Engineering and see how we can broaden our engineering knowledge."

Karri stood a little straighter when addressed, but couldn't help the smirking grin or the flick in her tail of excitement when asked to help.

"Aye sir!" Karri quickly grabbing a scanner an data pad, Karri paused.

"...An commander Thorson. work is never an imposition, an thank you." Karri gave a shy half smile, before turning toward the pod in eagerness.

Stardate 0365.02.07
USS Peregrine, holodeck - 0813

"Karri..I have to check in, something is going on on board the ship. I have to get to a com station."

"computer end program." Karri barked, an watched as the canopy quickly faded into the empty holo deck.

The holodeck doors whooshed open and John rushed to the nearest com.

"Lieutenant Reid to Security. Status report, the ship jumped to warp, what's going on?"

Stalking slowly to John's side Kerri's ears twitched as she tried to catch glimpsed details of the conversation.

"Very good, Reid out"

Turning back to Karri, " I need to change and report to Security for stand by. The Chief may need help he doesn't know he needs yet. I'll contact you..or you can contact me... when thing are more stable. Our walk on earth will have to wait..as we say.. I'll give you a rain check." With that john nodded and then jogged back to his quarters.

Karri nodded in agreement. "yes, a rain check until things stabilize." Karri smiled waving John off, watching his back a moment as he jogged down the hall.

Karri's smile faded as karri toyed for a moment about contacting engineering, but Commander Thorson hadn't contacted her ...yet. Karri smiled to herself as she walked the corridor toward her own room, best be changed an ready if/when he did.

beings theirs an unknown contaminate on the pod would it make sense to have a secondary field when crew are working on it as a "hasmat" containment field so if something goes wrong it got a buffer field?
