too bad Tom isn’t aboard the Peregrine, I have a feeling that he and Chief Cook would get along well. 😏

Welcome Ragnar, nice overhaul of the Security officer, and I see you kept Raz around as well.  Very nice first post, you’ll make a much better CTO than I ever could have.  ðŸ˜Š

Be reading with you in game. 😉

josie- well if you do come back tomorrow, Cook is off duty at 0700.   Who knows, maybe the meds make it hard to sleep. 😏

In any case, I’m sure they’ll meet.  Sickbay always keeps a med bay open for Security personnel. 😉

Josie.  Well if Tal comes to sickbay, she’s covering for the Dr during the Senior Staff meeting, and she’s on duty from 1900-0700 tomorrow. I’m sure Tal will meet her eventually, security officers often make close acquaintances with Medical personnel. 😏

USS Peregrine; Sickbay – 1310

Chief Cook was just finishing up the schedule for the New Crew member physicals, as was required on a new assignment, when the door to Sickbay opened up and Crewman Reynolds walked in. Dana was confused as Reynolds wasn't on duty at all today.

“Crewman?” Cook asked questioningly, “you're not on duty today. I figured you would be resting especially after all the pre-departure routine.” Dana knew she had worked the entire Medical staff furiously to make sure everything was resupplied, stored, and all equipment was functioning properly. She had wanted the New CMO to be impressed with her new staff; first impressions were everything.

“Oh, hey Chief,” Crewman Reynolds responded nervously, “I just wanted to do a little studying for a little bit, and there was too much going on in my quarters with my roommates that I just couldn't concentrate, so I figured I would come here. If that's alright?”

“Of course Crewman,” Cook nodded appreciatively, “carry on.”

Reynolds nodded and moved over to a side station and sat at the console and pulled up some medical training manuals and began to study. Cook watched her for a moment and then smiled slightly and nodded; her staff was improving more and more. She was becoming extremely happy with them in the day to day performance, but they hadn't been through a crisis situation just yet; then she would see how well they performed as a team.

Setting the PADD aside with the new schedule completed; Cook thought for a moment and then rose to her feet.

“Crewman,” she said as she walked over to Reynolds, who jumped slightly at being addressed, “I need to run an errand, since you're here, can you handle anything that comes in while I am gone?”

“Of course, Chief,” Reynolds replied.

“Good,” Cook said as she headed to the door, “If any emergency does come up, summon me immediately.”

Leaving Sickbay, Cook headed down the hall to the turbolift and towards the new quarters for her friend PO Crane.

USS Peregrine; Deck 3, Crew Quarters – 1321

Chief Cook stood before the door of the new quarters her friend Lauren Crane had been assigned. She hadn't visited her yet since she had been released from the Brig and confined to her quarters. Dana figured she would have wanted some space for awhile, so she had stayed away. Now, she figured it was time for a 'wellness' check; at least that is how she would sell it to the Captain, if he complained about Lauren having visitors. She didn't know if the Captain had set any guidelines for her confinement; maybe only her roommates were allowed. But, being Medical personnel, she figured she had a right to check on her mental and physical condition. She reached out and pressed the summoning button.

/Door chime/

((OOC: assuming permission to enter))

Dana takes a deep breath and enters the room. She pauses just inside the doorway for a moment, looking for her friend. Once she sees her, Dana smiles.

“Lauren,” Dana says with a smile, “It's good to see you. How are you doing?”

((OOC: Assuming a response ))

“I came to check on you and see how you are doing,” Dana said with a shrug, “I'm not sure if you're allowed visitors, but I'm here on 'official' business.” Her faint smile broadened as she lifted her medical tricorder from her belt. She figured that Lauren would understand that she would use that as any excuse as to why she was there, though she would know Dana well enough to know it was a personal visit.

((OOC: Leave it here, awaiting responses so it can continue.))

No worries, your XO requests just made me realize I'm not up to being an officer; I had no idea what the XO was asking for.

I'll be much happier playing a simple Crewman.  Crewman Sari Uhnari is completed, on the Roster, and reporting for duty in the Science Department.

Subject: Beam you up?

Dragon-soul, I know you are looking for Adventure/fantasy RP, but have you considered Star Trek?  There are a couple of good games just getting underway and you could easily come in as a minor player, a low officer or crewman, to learn the ropes.  It is Freeform, so it is mostly writing what your character is doing.  If you're interested, check out the ST: Chimera or the ST: Hidden Depths games and post in the recruitment thread for the game which interests you.

Good luck!

Josie,  a couple of very nice posts there.

I do want to point out, to your Brig post, you do have a 'patron' in the brig; former Chief PO Lauren Crane I believe is still serving out the last of her sentence.   I hope to have a post where Cook is visiting her to check on her condition; I want to get the person playing Crane's Department heads permission before I 'play' Crane in any fashion.

Carry on.

Stardate: 2365.03.28

USS George Washington Carver, Deck 6, Multipurpose Lab #1 – 1835

Crewman Sari Uhnari sat at a computer console in the Mulipurpose Lab #1 and furrowed her brow over what she saw on the screen. She was conducting a experiment on a cell from a possible nucleogenic lifeform by subjecting it to polaron radiation to see if it would react. So far, she had gotten no reaction, but she was sure she was onto something here.

“Maybe the Polaron field isn't strong enough,” she mused to herself, “or I'm kidding myself and this isn't a Nucleogenic cell.”

After a few more minutes she sighed, and decided to call it a night, besides her stomach was telling her that she had skipped lunch and it was dinner time. She cleared the screen, and took the cell sample container from the test chamber and returned it to the storage/containment unit.

Leaving the lab, she wandered down the hallway of the unfamiliar ship. She had only been aboard about a week, having boarded at Star Base 343, so she was still learning her way around the USS George Washington Carver. She knew the location of her lab, her quarters, the mess hall, and of course, the gym. She still felt out of place and all of the strangeness of the ship, and the unfamiliarity with all the other species aboard. She couldn't help but wonder, Did I make the right decision in joining Starfleet? Reaching the turbolift, she stepped in when the door opened and was kind of glad that it was empty.

“Deck 2” she said with a sigh.

Sari wasn't about a lot of things yet; she didn't know if the Chief Science Officer liked her or not? She didn't know if the other crewmen with whom she shared her quarters with liked her? There were a lot of things she was unsure of right now. Being a minor empath, she often got 'feelings' when she was close to other people. Oh, she couldn't read minds, she only senses feelings and then only when she was in close proximity to another person; but what she sensed, made her feel uncomfortable, or better yet, unsure of her place here. Of course, maybe it's all in 'my' head.

“Maybe I should have stayed at home in the restaurant,” she muttered with a faint smile. She could have worked in her parents restaurant and eventually she would probably take over the place if, and when, they decided to retire. While she was a pretty good cook, of Haliian dishes, she just didn't feel like cooking was what she wanted to do with her life. She loved science and wanted to pursue the passion and hoped she could do good here, but time would tell.

The turbolift door opened with a 'whish' and it startled her back to the moment. Exiting, she walked down the hall and entered the Mess hall. She ordered some food from the replicator, which was a challenge in itself. Apparently the replicator didn't have any Haliian dishes in it's database, so she had to settle for human food. She had learned to cope when in basic training; though she had found some Vulcan dishes to be close to home cooking.

Taking her tray to an empty table, she sat and looked around and didn't spot anyone she knew among the few people here. She sat down and began to pick at her food, eating a little and then slowly, trying to adjust her taste to unfamiliar tastes and textures. Like most things in her live lately, she would learn to adapt to the strange and yet intriguing atmosphere of the ship.

((OOC: Ok, a little something to introduce and give a little incite into her mindset. I hope to have more as time moves forward and she interacts with the CSO. ))

Since the Officer's life isnt for me, I've reliqueshed the Tac Officer position and created a Crewman character, Sari Uhnari, who is now listed in the Roster in the Science Department.   I will be working on a post for the game threat as an introduction.   I had her come aboard while at SB 343; one of the late arrivals.

i don’t think I’m cut out for this officer stuff. I guess I’m more of a follower than a leader, so I relinquish my LT Stark to anyone else that wants the position.

I might want to play another character, if you’re ok with that Crowe?  If not, I understand.

Stardate 2365.02.19
USS Peregrine; Mess hall - 1235

Chief Dana Cook grabbed a tray from the replicator and found an empty table at which to sit. She had decided to grab a bite to eat now since the sickbay was all squared away and the new Doctor had settled in. She knew there was a Senior Staff meeting at 1600 hrs and she would need to take over the Medical watch early so the Doctor could attend.

Dana liked the new Doctor so far; she seemed confident and eager to work hard to get the job done right. She could appreciate that kind of attitude because it echoed her own. The real tell would be when things happened and the Medical staff was required to do what they did; would the new Doctor step up and lead the group as was required of a Chief Medical Officer. Dana had a good feeling about this doctor, and she hoped she was right; she was tired of 'breaking in' new CMOs.

As she ate, she watched others come into the mess for a break; she saw Petty Officer Prudnikov, a Geologist from the Science Department. PO Prudnikov worked with Chief Lauren Crane, or rather PO Crane now. She thought of her friend Lauren still serving out her sentence imposed by the Captain, now confined to her new quarters. Dana sighed, she would miss her friend; Lauren had been moved to enlisted quarters once she got out of the brig and Dana is now alone in her quarters. She thought of all the good times she and Lauren had together, and they would have others, but coming back to Chief quarters she previously shared with Lauren and not finding her there would be rough for awhile. Dana hoped that they didn't immediately assign anyone to her quarters just yet; she felt she needed some time alone to adjust.

Chief Cook ate her meal in silence, and others passed by her table to find seating elsewhere after they saw the look on her face; it told them the often cranky Chief Petty Officer was in no mood for polite conversation at the moment.

After picking at her food for awhile, she picked up her tray and put it in the disposal unit before heading out and back towards sickbay. She didn't have to report for awhile yet, but she didn't have anything else to do right now; she wasn't in the mood.

USS Peregrine; Sickbay – 1250

Walking into Sickbay, Chief Cook walked over to her desk and sat down; calling up the ship's roster she called up the new arrivals to the ship. She began to lay out a schedule for the new crew members to come in for physicals to take place within the next week.

Well the Canar only helps them 'bond' with a single person who is also using the crystal; it isn't like they are able to read everyone's mind using it.  But, if that is the way you want it, that's fine.  Though I think it could be an interesting Rp at some point.

Good.  I made a couple of minor changes, and might add in further information as the NPCs develop.  Besides the Vulcan, I have an Male Antaran and a Female Haliian.  The TAC/SEC department is a work in progress.

So, is the Chief TAC officer considered Senior Staff and will attend meetings?
