Okay, I've got a couple of characters, but the person who sent me a thief character had to back out due to lack of time to commit to the game.   Tom - here's your chance. 

I've had a busy couple days at work so haven't had time to look over the characters closely, but I will this weekend and answer any questions this weekend's.  So I'll get back to you all. 

While the interrogation continued, Lily had searched the definitely dead bug creature. She studied it and grimaced at it’s strangeness, they had nothing like this back from whence she came.  She still wondered where she was right now.  Strange party mates, strange creatures.  Nothing looked familiar to her right now.  It was strange, but yet not too strange for her.  She liked strange in a way, it was exciting to see things she had never encountered before in her travels.  And these bug creatures were interesting.   

The creature didn’t have much on it’s body, a couple of unremarkable daggers, which she took and stuck them into the ground nearby; maybe one of her companions might want them.  The coins, were more interesting, but not for their monetary value, but the strange designs on them were ones she had never seen.  The coins went into one of her pouches, perhaps she might spend them on a meal for her party once they found a place to have a nice meal, and a soft bed.  That sounded good to her. 

She sighed as she heard the questions being thrown at the creature, while she couldn’t understand most of it, unless someone was translating the questions and responses.  In any case, she was bored.  She kept an eye on their surroundings, and walked around the ledge looking for anything that would peak her interests.  If she found nothing, she would wait impatiently for the party to decide upon their next move.  She really didn’t care on what they decided to do.  She didn’t care really, as long as it was something exciting. 

((OOC:  She has no questions, and really doesn’t care, she will go along with whatever the party wants to do next))

FYI everyone, in D & D terms, this is a mid level adventure, probably around 8th level.

Alverstar - yes I will need a basic character sheet with abilities, powers, etc.  I prefer you just cut and paste into a PM. I don't have good luck using google docs.

Tom - I didn't say there could only be one rogue; make one if you like, or make something else. So far you haven't sent me anything, so that doesn't lock up anything until you do. 

Well, it's a D&D type adventure, that's about all I can tell you now. We have a rogue (Jim), and a Eldritch Knoght, I think, and possibly one other but don't have details yet.

Warriors and mages are always needed, as for a full mage, I think I only want 1, warriors and rogues we can use more than one.  Characters that are like warriors with some magic, is allowed.

you can use your D&D rules to make up your character if you want, but I. We'd to know you characters abilities and magic, powers, etc.

I'll be able to give more info as people send info on their characters.  If any of you want a prior relationship, that's up to you all and you can discuss it between yourselves and just let me know.

It's a woman's perogative to change her mind at the drop of a pin, therefore, I've been working on my story and I think I'm ready to start soon.  

So, anyone still interested, lets talk characters.  Nomad, Alverstar, Tom?  Still interested?  

Let me know, I have two characters that are being fleshed out, looking for at least a couple more.  

Lily watched as one of the Bugbears fell and the other withdrew after seeing more of the party gain the ledge.  She heard the creature utter some gibberish, that she didn’t understand, and lifted up her hoopak, and charged at the other one.  She heard one of the party (Dok) say something, but she was yelling her fierce battle cry and didn’t catch it and continued her charge.

"Everyone hold your attack.  Alive he could be valuable" Hornet spoke aloud and that she heard just before she struck at the Bug Bear.  Skidding to a halt she looked at the Hornet with disbelief.  With a sigh and a shake of her head, she moved away from the creature, leaving the group to question this creature.

While they questioned the living bugbear, she went to check on the other one and give it the coup de grâce, if needed.  Once she is sure it is dead, she will check it’s body for anything of interest.  If the interrogation continues after she is done, she will look around the rest of the ledge, looking for anything and keeping and eye out for Goblins, Bugbears, etc., and for any exits from this ledge, other than the party they came up.

With a grin on her lips, Lilly moved further onto the ledge, about 15 feet, to clear the path so the rest of the party could come up to join the fun.  She took a quick look around the rest of the ledge to see if there were any other attackers.

If she sees other targets on the ledge, she will shout a warning to the group and go into a defensive mode. 

If she sees nothing other than the two bugbears that are already engaging the party, she turns back around looking at the back of the bugbears she will slip a ball into her hoopak and aiming up at the bugbear that was nearest to her, the one by Uthal, and looses the shot(s).

((OOC:  I can’t recall if she gets two shots with her hoopak, it is like a sling staff basically, but don’t see it on my character sheet?))

Lilly was moving up the trail as quickly as she could and not fall.  She saw two of the team members, Thaoran and Uthal she thought, reach the top and were engaged by the two bugbears up there.  Seeing all the fun happening without her, she gritted her teeth and gripped her hoopak tighter as she rushed the rest of the way to the top.  She moved towards the right of Uthal intending to pass him on the right.

She was ready to engage anything that attacked her, intending to use her agility to dodge, or roll out of the way.  

(OOC: Okay, I’m not sure on what she can do here.  I know she is 25’ from the top, which I think she can reach the top in this round.  She means to pass to the right of Uthal, and if she has any action, she will use it for defensive dodging if the bugbears or anything else attacks her.  A tumble roll to the front right would be her choice, if available. If you need any clarification, let me know.)

Not going to happen at the moment.  Maybe in the future.  I just don't have the time to run this right now.  

I'll update here if I am able to move forward with this game.

Awesome a map.  I don't know about anyone else but it helps me for sure.

Ahhh i see now.  I was wondering how they seemed to get up there so quickly.  Thank you for explaining it to me.  

Lilly was moving cautiously up the train keeping and eye out for any surprises, when she was surprised, but not by any bear like creatures or goblins.  Instead it was by Uthal and Thaoran passed her as they charged up the trail towards the top.  

The kender gave a short quick exclamation, “Hey..” then she quickened her speed as the two pulled away from her, “you not going to to have all the fun without me.” She said at a more normal volume which probably wasn’t overheard by anyone over the noise of them all moving quickly up the hill.

She picked up her pace up the trail and moved as fast as she safely could given the difficult terrain.

(OOC:  she will move to a Dash, if she can on the difficult trail.  She will depend on her dexterity to keep her footing and be ready for action when it comes.)) 

Ok, I'm new to this creature, which seem large, especially to a Kender, but it seems they ran up this trail all the way to the top in one round, despite the rough terrain.  Do they have a natural ability that none of our party character possess, or are they just that much bigger, faster, or am I reading the post incorrectly?

Ok, pondering Lilly's actions.  A little fuzzy on the bad guys locations, etc. Looking forward to a map soon. ?

It was a good thing that Lilly couldn’t see what was happening back with the Goblins; while she would kill things in self defense, to slit the throats of unconscious foes, and mutilating their death bodies was appalling behavior. It was best that she was unaware of her new companions actions, or she might have decided that this was not a group in which she wished to travel.

Seeing only one of the ugly bear-like creatures up ahead, gave Lilly pause, she continued on but she slowed her pace to a normal one, still whooping and hollering she took care to watch her step on the steep terrain.  She swore there were two of those creatures, but saw only one; was one laying in wait along the side of this path?  She was cautious now, and moved with a wary eye for an ambush.

((Okay, slowing her pace to normal, and keeping an observing gaze on the sides of the path among the trees, etc., for any signs of a surprise attack or trap.  She will move enough this turn so she can still have an action, such as dodge, etc., if needed.))

Lilly saw the ugly bear like things appear on the path as the goblins fell, and seeing them take in the scene and flee, she yelped in triumph and took off after them yelling and whooping loudly to make it seem as if a hundred nasty things were coming up the path after them.  

((She will use dash to gain as much movement as she can.  She doesn’t plan to attack but she is moving quickly and if something jumps out to attack her she will try to dodge themby rolling to the side using her forward momentum rather than move away from the attacker.))

Excellent. I don't know about anyone else, but the maps help me out a lot.  Love them.  Please continue with the maps.

Some questions, I see Lilly is ahead of the others because she moved forward to attack, correct?  

How does dodging work? If she forgoes attacks and only moves and dodges attacks, either melee or ranged, does that increase her chances of dodging said attacks?

Im considering her options at the moment and will post once I know more and see what some others are doing. 

oh, what exactly is Dash? I assume it increases your movement, but what are the cons of using it?

Lilly looked up as a half dozen goblins became visible on the path.  A grin grew on her lips as she moved forward towards them as the others in group began to take action.  Drawing a smooth stone from one of her side pouches, she fitted it into pouch at the top of her hoopak.  Once she had moved about half the distance (25’ ) to the goblins, she stabbed the sharp end of her hoopak into the ground to make a steady shot, and drew back the sling and then loosed her shot at the nearest standing adversary.

((If a goblin closes the distance before she moves forward, she will use her hoopak as a spear, or if the combined actions of goblin and Lilly bring them within melee distance. This is what I’m going to call my secondary action, dependent upon circumstances.  So in short, if still at distance, sling, if close combat, spear attack.  Also, her being small and agile, does that make it harder to hit her?  I’m hoping it does. ))

Ok, how far can Lilly move forward and still perform an action, such as fire a stone with her hoopak?

Does talking use up an action? 

I noticed that actions appear in a random order, or rather different than posted. So do you determine the order when you consider the outcomes of our actions and those of our opponents?

Can I post multiple possible actions? Such as state one where she rushes up the hill, but if she is cut off by an advancing enemy so instead she alters her action to something else. Is that allowed? Like a primary then secondary action, if something interrupts primary action. 

I was just waiting as currently Lilly is a tag-a-long, so I was waiting to see what the plan was, and now that I know, I have posted.  

Lilly snorted in disappointment when her stone fell well short as the target was too far away.  She smirked and was contemplating her next move, when others offered up their thoughts on the next action.

"Might as well take the path.  If they know we are here it is the quickest way to get to them and we can move.  Climbing makes us easier targets if they send a welcoming party."  With a fresh bolt in his crossbow Hornet started up the path towards the pyre.  

She saw others also moving to the path, and without further hesitation, she moved to follow them at her fastest pace, her hoopak was held ready just in case something sprang out to attack her. 

Okay, I think I'm understanding actions and movements, thank you everyone.  Distances, seem a lot further than I was thinking.  

I think i will wait to post to see what others are doing before I post for Lily; maybe give me some idea of how Lilly can help.  

Let's go!!!! Come on I want this combat to move.  One a week is pretty slow! 

I wish this game was still going, or that a new game would start up.  I love Firefly/Serenity and would love to play in an RP of this Genre. I miss Firefly so much.  I watch the shows so much, and have met 5 of the surviving cast members at Comic Cons.  I've only not seen Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Adam Baldwin, and Ron Glass (RIP).  

If anyone wants to start up a game of the Firefly genre, rules or otherwise, let me know, I'm in.
