Subject: hearing and movies

Right now i hear the second x-files season 5 dvd being played.

The movie(s) i have seen more than others are Jurassic Park and Forest Gump. Seen them probably 100 times or something. Maybe more. Happened when i was younger (10 maybe?) and we had no cable or other good movies to watch and the nearest movie rental place was 45 minutes or so away.

well i felt a lot of closeness to the movie, pertaining to my own life in some aspects. So that also made it very touching for me.

Oh, btw, No Country For Old Men was great! Liked it very much. Also a fav of mine. I could watch the scene with old man in the store over and over. It's so real. I grew up with people like that. Just perfectly done.

Will Smith is becoming a FANTASTIC actor. Brilliant.

Did anyone see The Pursuit of Happyness?
It's beautiful. My favorite movie now. Will Smith does a great job in that movie.

Stardust was really nice! Fun to watch

30 Days of Night was pretty cool!! A vampire movie. I was pleasantly surprised. Of course it had a couple of 'yea right, ok ok' moments, but it was cool watching it in theaters. I'm not sure if it would be as good watching it on DVD, but maybe.

No Reservations was ok. It's a chick flick (IMO), but not terrible. Makes you want to eat spaghetti like...whoa!

Black Snake Moan is a pretty good movie. Not one for the kids, though. It has some really nice blues music in it.

Hairspray was ok. A little too musical at times. That got old. But it had some funny moments, so it's worth a gander. It's not something for everyone, though. But if you like musicals, you'll love it.

Almerin and I have watched others, but i can't think of them right now. Just thought I'd give a little reviewing here and there. Not very good reviews, i'm afraid. Maybe i should be more detailed, but i don't feel like it right now

Subject: Beowulf

The new "Beowulf" movie looks pretty alright. No?

I studied a lot about Beowulf and Grendel my last year of high school in 2004. I even had to make a Beowulf and Grendel boardgame as an assignment...so I'm interested in seeing this movie.

There was recently a 'Beowulf and Grendel' movie...i haven't seen that one. It didn't strike my attention as much as the new Beowulf one. i will still see the other one though, when i feel like it.

Btw, Ratatouille was a nice movie!! Who else thought so?

Subject: hmm

i think i would rather be lost at sea. But that's a good point, miko. Maybe it's better to be lost in the dessert, especially if you can find water. But maybe your chances of being lost at sea for a week are better when people come looking for you. A week in a pretty good amount of time...with provisions. Sooo....Sea for me, please.

Speaking of birthdays.....
Happy Birthday Al!...for the 3rd (or 4th?) time.

I would make a thread, but i figure the lovely Cathy would probably get on that. Unless you're all too busy with packing for Maryland....?
