Although I must admit I'm not that surprised that the GM would applaud me for making my char pee herself and then teeter on the edge of a nervous breakdown in the middle of the zombie apocalypse.

And Emily thought she was a good target.

Thanks though.

And... what?! Outgrow RP?! Never!!

Oh my Friggin God!

There ought to be a law against that much AWSOMENESS!
I'm a guy and I almost peed myself reading those posts.

I'm almost afraid to post now, fearing I cannot come close to the "fluff" you two laid down!

Not to say that I won't try

Thanks, man... I was worried some that I might've gone a tad overboard when I realized how much I'd written but sometimes ya just gotta 'feel it' and 'go with it', I guess.

And as far as being afraid to post... don't be... think about it, you ALL contributed to and inspired some of that alleged awesomeness in your own right... and, if it wasn't for the inspiration I drew from the rest of you, none of what I posted would likely have come out as well as it did... takes a team to make for good RP, you know?

And yeah... outgrow RPGs??? Mmmmmmmmmm... No!

nice take, Tiamat

I knew when I took Eol and Merideth (having played with both more than once) that it would be tough for anyone to keep up with their "awesome level" - they are unfairly good players.

You do NOT have to try to write novellas like them to be a great player. That being said, your attitude is ery much appreicated. There's something to be said for trying to constantly improve (which is one reason they're both as good as they are).

They use a "secret" formula in their posts - rather than just worry about the game mechanics, they try to figure out just how this persona they are playing would react to a given situation. They then write about those feelings, perception, etc. It's more than just playing, it's really almost a collaborate novel concept.

Again, nobody should feel inferior; if you continue to post regularly and give me two to three short paragraphs per post, try to give me some insight into why your character is doing what they do, I am 100% happy.

Definatly!

Don't feel intimidated...

Been doing stuff like this for many many years now (more than I would care to admit)...

and yes as Eol said you all help to 'inspire' the fluff

Honestly I usually just read over what everyone else has written, get a general idea of what I want to do, pull up Word put myself into my char's position and start typing (usually ending up somewhere else with my char than I had originally anticipated)...

M.

p.s. and wait... what did you say Olan? Game mechanics? Are those like the little guys that run around the engine room on Star Trek in red shirts getting exploded?

Yeah...

...what Olan and Meri said.

Don't ever feel intimidated or inferior or any of that business... just keep on posting, refining, posting, refining, etc... honestly, when it comes right down to it, letting the "mechanics" of the game disappear (leave that up to the GM) and just getting yourself into your character's head 'in the moment' works wonders... if you can 'lose yourself in your character's head' the posts (or characters) tend write themselves after a while.

heh

Also, Eol has been known to exhibit signs of multiple personality disorder, so it's easier for him.

DX

Me and my name mixing up to late to change it but i totally meant amber in that last post. As for the other stuff i have to admit Im enjoying online RP then in real life its much more interesting and actually is allowing me to build a better relationship with my own character. Mer and Eol kudos for B****ing me out Alaster has been put quite in his place and will shut up for the continuation of this journey. XD

P.S. and you all wonder why he drinks so much

It's all good...

...sent you a PM that relates to this actually... and, if it matters, if Alaster had said Amber instead of Emily it might've changed some of what Murph said but not to a major degree... Murph was on edge anyway and it just happened to be Alaster who had the misfortune/bad timing to finish burning that fuse down...

If we live long enough, I can foresee Murph offering up a pretty humble apology at some point... I'm not trying to build any animosity between our characters, you know, just trying to play out the 'stress, disbelief, shock, etc'

here we go again...

Back on Amber and Murph...

Romance? Come on... we are too busy fighting zombies to worry about such things.

Nothing going on there.

heh

I was wondering where the Emily thing came from. I was thinking "Amber, I can see... never saw an Emily indication from Murph".
