It occurred to me...

...as I was tacking up that last post that I conceived the name of this thread before Reralae had returned and joined us in Hidden Corruption. Seeing as the Butterfly has graced us with her participation and contributed soooo much to the story, already, I feel a need to change the title a bit... How does "The Adventures of Kith, the Cat, and the Khatun" grab you?

Whoo

There's a reason they say predators are even more dangerous when cornered.  glad he's on our side

I like that idea for the name. Keep the hard k sound theme going

Incidentally, been writing another flashback on and off a bit. Will see where I get to with it if it will be more post ready

First of all, “Your blades are fine. I insulted you.”
How dare you?

Second of all, I nearly lost it when Ch'dau stole her "You had better be careful, you may end up having to pay me back" line.
Amazing.

Third of all, yes let's change the name!

*chucklesnort*

First of all, that was some quality kazari snark, right there!

Second of all, I thought you'd like that!

Third of all, name change happening, now.... Oooh! And there's a Reralae post to marvel at, as well! *happy dance*

Random observation...

Waaaaay back when, sometime around page 3 or 4 of Hidden Corruption, I started a very rough outline of how this adventure might start... Figuring out how Ch'dau ended up being captured, who his gaelor might be, and why in the names of all the gods would they keep such a monster alive. After a few trips across the drawing board, I came up with the basics of Undolithe, her power, and here adherence to D'hurgan, etc.

Now, I chose that God, in particular, because Adedra was planned as a necromancer, "The Burning" is celebrated as a holy day in his honor and all that crazy kitty litter. I did, so, too, without knowing that D'hurgan's priests would be making an appearance in Hidden Corruption... Really, I didn't even consider the connection too much until just now and it's got me wondering if D'hurganites are going to be an overarching theme for our merry band? Are we going to manage to somehow totally piss of the god of death to such a degree that he stalks us?

Oh my Rrowl! What have we done?

Nope...

...at least not on a conscious level, anyway.

In discussing things with Olan, early on, I had asked him why someone in Sendria might be keeping a captured kazari alive and he threw a few options at me:

  1. Being held for ransom. Surely the Silver Wyverns would pay a decent sum for the return of such a warrior... Or exchange prisoners...
  2. For study/experimentation. Kazari aren't exactly prolific creatures on Antaron. Perhaps a "mad scientist" type or creepy collector was holding him as part of some experiment or something.
  3. Sendria is full of dark sorcerers, death worshipers, and the like... Maybe he's to be offered as some sort of exotic sacrifice.

I kind of melded at least two of those ideas and here we are... Maybe Olan is subliminally influencing things!

There

Finished that memory to where I wanted. Chronologically speaking, the next one is rough. I've 'rewritten' it in my head several times and it's difficult to convey the right things.

Just saying, that particular memory might take a while for me to get it written out.
