Aww, great song. I want to re-listen to it when I get home and can read the lyrics along with it--mobile youtube is bleh.

In general I really just liked that arrangement too--those bass lines and chord progressions

LK 5

Holy... I mean... Just...

That was horribly, hauntingly agonizing and amazing, Bree!

What? These? No these aren't tears... I sneezed... Yeah... Like a bunch of times and... And... Allergies, you know?

Omg

You're done already?! Whew!

And thanks, Eol!

I posted this this the other day in HC because it seemed to have become fitting for Kith in that moment, but when I first heard it at the beginning of November I thought it was perfect for her fleeing Calestra and Coria.

Again, it's Ghost, by Au/Ra and Alan Walker.

I'm losin' touch with everything I know
And I'm so scared that I'll end up, I'll end up, I'll end up alone

You know I'm like a ghost, sometimes I have to fade
And it haunts me that I have to be this way
You say it's gone cold, I say I'll do better
But I always seem to disappear again
You know I'm like a ghost, I see it in your face
And it haunts me that I have to be this way
You say it's gone cold, I say I'll do better
But I always seem to disappear again
You know I'm like a ghost

Yeah...

... I couldn't stop reading once I started. It was that good!

Anyhoo... on the music side of things... A couple of songs came to mind as I was writing up that "epilogue" scene. They may not apply directly to that moment, really, but I can see both having some bearing on Ch'dau and Ara in the aftermath... and, oddly enough, both are by one of my all time favorite groups.

First off, there's "The River."

Next; "Dance With You."

Both kind of put me in mind of dealing with grief, loss, and maybe loneliness but finding comfort from any of it with another, I guess.

Dance With You kind of strikes me as the more "immediate" tune to be played at this particualr point in our unofficial soundtrack... it's slower/moodier but I can definitely see the lyrics applying to Ch'dau and Ara following their arrival in Meadowbrook.

The River is a little more "upbeat" as far as tempo and whatnot and, opposite of Dance With You, I think this one would be more of an "Ara to Ch'dau" thing, in certain circumstances... His own rage gets the better of him at some point and Ara turns the proverbial tables, soothing him in that moment... reciprocating his nursing her back to stability, so to speak.

*shrugs* I dunno... give a listen if you like and let me know what you think.

Edit: Ever have one of those moments where you just happen to stumble upon song after song that seems to fit? Yeah, me too... In fact, going along with the theme above but with a bit more of "Ch'dau's harder edges" I found this one... Kind of hits all the marks following HC...

EDIT Jr: These lyrics, though... *sigh*

I love the way that your heart breaks
With every injustice and deadly fate
Praying it all will be new
And living like it all depends on you

Here you are down on your knees again
Trying to find air to breathe again
And only surrender will help you now
I love you please see I believe again

I love that you're never satisfied
With face value wisdom and happy lies
You take what they say and go back and cry
You're so close to me that you nearly died, oh

Here you are down on your knees again
Trying to find air to breathe again
And only surrender will help you now
I love you please see and believe again

They don't have to understand you
Be still
Wait and know I understand you
Be still
Be still

Listened to all the songs!

And read all the lyrics!

Liminality: I had to look this word up. The word alone is just, perfect.
From the always reliable wiki page: In anthropology, liminality (from the Latin word l?men, meaning "a threshold") is the quality of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs in the middle stage of a rite of passage, when participants no longer hold their pre-ritual status but have not yet begun the transition to the status they will hold when the rite is complete. During a rite's liminal stage, participants "stand at the threshold" between their previous way of structuring their identity, time, or community, and a new way, which completing the rite establishes.

Knowing the word, mixed with the rest of the lyrics, and where Ara's at in HC, great song choice.

LIVE: I don't think I had heard of this band, but I've definitely heard their music, and I can see what you mean about Dance With You applying to those two in Meadowbrook

Flyleaf: Oh maaaan, it's been a MINUTE since I've had some Flyleaf in my life, but I was INto them back in the day. Great choice of song, and listening to them while absorbing those lyrics at the same time in the HC context, SO GOOD . . .

Here you are down on your knees again
Trying to find the air to breathe again
And only surrender will help you now
I love you please see and believe again

They don't have to understand you
Be still
Wait and know I understand you
Be still
Be sill

For sure!

I used to blast Flyleaf ALL THE TIME... then, somehow, they just kind of found their way out of my rotation (not sure why)... After writing that epilogue, though, and skimming through songs, that one popped up and I was like; "Oooooooooh. YEAH!!!"

Dance With You spoke to me in the context of our "post-HC" stuff, as well, but, even more, the images in that video kind of hit me as very Capasha-like and just.... *sigh*

Anyhoo... I may get a post going here, soon, if no one minds... had a couple of thoughts, last night, that chased me through sleep and now I've got that writer's itch.

Good morning, dear ladies!

Do iiiittt!

Do it, Eol!

I have some of a post written out myself, I was just waiting to see what Ara and Mosic were up to in case Kith needed to whip out the daggies, the lock picks or what have you.

And i am always up for a raging Kazari

So be it!

I'm thinking I'll probably start out with actions/reactions to the "Game Plan" posts from Mosic's POV (leaving room, of course, for Ara's comments, etc) and get the two of them, at least part way across the lawn. We'll see what happens.

2 thumbs way way up!

Sounds good!

I had been thinking, that should our Cidal buddy make it through this, maybe he'd make an appearance or two in Meadowbrook later down the line too? I could see Ch'dau reaching out for a Helping Hand in bringing our Ara back.

Soo... just a little something there to give Mosic's POV and to put he and Ara in a somewhat defensable position whilst awaiting Kith and Ch'dau.

Took a few liberties with Ara's words and such, there, but, if Rer doesn't think I did the bladesinger justice, I will more than happily edit.

Also - I'll leave the exact nature of that particualr outbuilding up for interpretation for the time being... Are there any access points to the manor house to be found inside, perhaps? Might Ch'dau find his daktar and falcata within? Hmmmmmmmm.... stranger things have happened.

Is it a barn?

I'm looking to get a post up as well. It's just taking a little bit to reconnect to this Aranwen, as you might expect.

Aftermath-Aranwen is well... broken

Lindsey Stirling, FTW!!!

Love me some Lindsey!!!

And yeah, the jumping back and forth between KCandK and HC iterations of these characters is tough... especially now...
