The road was long...

...but I made it back in one piece! Yay me!

I've also managed to read and re-read the posts that have gone up since I left and, of course, have a couple of my own in mind. First, while in the midst of moving my daughter from one house to another, I came up with the bulk of the next Cub'dau post, so I'm going to get that scrawled out before I lose any of it. Secondly, I've got an Adedre post in mind... kind of a "gap-filler" between our group's infiltration of her manor and the rather unexpected flogging they put on Morgana's plan. And, finally, I'll get a Ch'dau post going to follow that up!

Man, I missed my keyboard! Trying to type out even a small post on a phone or tablet is rough work. lol

Okay...

...so that scene turned into something quite a bit different than what I had originally intended when I started writing it. I wasn't going to spend so much time on the chosen forming up on the following morning and was going to flash forward a week or two buuuuut... *gestures vaguely* ... there it is.

*grins*

Yeah, I can't complain about where it went.

Glad you're enjoying it... more details regarding the whole battle-born thing will likely show up in the next Cub'dau post. Stay tuned! Same Cat-time, same Cat-channel!

Welcome back

I can't help but get glimmers of sights at Capasha and other places with the looks into the pasts for both Ch'dau and Kithran. You say it gets away from you but I think it's amazing and fun when that happens

Just imagine Ch'dau sharing some details with Aranwen

"That was how you trained? My goodness. That is a degree of intensity I am not sure I'd have survived were I in the same place, at the same age."

"Hmph, you say so, but to hear you talk of the training you've done, you've done so for more turns than I've lived."

"Perhaps it isn't so different... Just different paths to get there."

Thanks! It's good to be back!

Honestly, I imagine that, during their time in Meadowbrook, Aranwen has heard a version of this tale... and others.

And now...

Mind is wandering to a hypothetical 'what if' of Aranwen as a Kazari. Two runts rather than one, one silver, one golden, initially rivals in the sense of trying to outdo the other but growing into a bond where they are willing to fight tooth and claw for the other. Even if it leads to both of them being beat up by the twins or other cubs

"THAT is how you both trained?"
*Kith flashes back to monching stolen cookies with Ocyari*
"Sounds rough."
*monches more stolen cookies in the present*

She probably wouldn't have tried to pick fights with them, but she'd definitely find the things they cared most about and steal the hell out of them.

As for the world-building, I absolutely love it from both of you. I feel like I can see the places you describe, and they're all so distinctly their own . . . big fan of your works over here

P.S. I also like the juxtapostion between the more woodsy Sylvaria and Capasha scenes vs the crowded cities Kithran ran around in. I'd always like to delve more into her environments, but my posts are already so long *shrug* Hmmmm, but the ideas . . . hmmmm

Never underestimate the cookie thief

Ocyari steals all the cookies. And she uncovers all the secrets while listening to things she shouldn't be listening to. While munching cookies.

Kithran nabs shinies, Ocyari nabs pastries.

"If you can steal a cookie, you can steal jewels."

"Not from Aranwen"

"Just watch me."

"Don't say I didn't warn you"

*few moments later* grumblegrumble"golden eyes"grumble

"Told you"

LOL @ monches stolen cookies

Funny how that works out, isn't it?

I'm a huge fan of your works, as well.

I absolutely love reading everything either of you post up and writing with you is always a treat!

Lol, I meant she'd steal from the jerks beating up her friends!

Trying to steal from Aranwen would be a game and a challenge for her, never malicious.

And yeah, Kith's most formal training consisted of a few weeks of Tara stealing stuff from her and people in Calestra, parkour with some reckless pre-teens, and goofing off in the woods with a cute boy.

Whew, so rough *monches on real life cookies* basically the same as Ara and Cub'dau, if you really think about it
