Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: Eol....
Are you good with joining Ash and Willow in their daily classes?
Over 15 days even a simple one session every day would add to both Ash and Willow's skill base. Easy enough for Fu Sheng to judge what would be good for them. He might have a good laugh at the recorded lessons and then start to add the little improvements to stance, move and such.

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: Asher's duties?
Well I see Ash as the wrench monkey in the engine room. He has a talent to take things apart and put them back together but he's not an engineer to figure out modifications. He would enjoys just working wih John and Wolf to keep busy and learn more.
I can see that he'd hang on John stories about parachuting and wing suits. That is just sort of thing Asher would rush into.
My posts will have Ash spending time helping Wolf and John, you guys just sort use that to have him around. If want him crawling through the boat to string cables, tearing down stuff so new parts can be put on, then go with it.
I was also have him down more with Willow and now it could go deeper with Eol's character helping to advance the training. We have a Master now to lead our workouts.

Topic: Voyages of Rocinante - Serenity/Firefly RPG Subject: Second Chance.......
Wolf looked up, "Go to it then. You need to reset the circuit as soon as you are done. Back panel, flip the switch with the orange showing. It a safety precaution, so it don't fry you inside out." He could not do two things at once and he knew that Asher needed to fix the mistake in save face in his own mind.
Asher finished putting the wiring back into place and rigged the jumper cables. He ran over the circuit box and opened it up. Sure enough, there was the orange next to the circuit breakers, except there were four. He called out to Wolf but the big man was engrossed in his own work so Asher reached up and flipped them all.
As the kid flipped the switches he hears the pilot voice came over the com again.
“Alright boys, it’s lookin’ like we’re gittin’ to try that Immelmann after all. I’m following her up with split-s, so make sure to watch our hydraulics and stabilizers so we ain’t going up in a purty show of fire and shinies.”
Asher moved to shadow Wolf, he figured he could learn more by watching the man in action. The kid was a more than a fair mechanic, he could tear a mule apart and assemble it again in the dark, but that was easy compared to knowing what fix when things went bad; that sort of thing took time and experience. Asher had felt the meaning behind Wolf’s words and knew the man hadn’t totally lost trust in him. Ash would now prove the second chance would be well used.
The ship’s engineer moved rapidly to adjust the systems to support what the pilot had asked. The kid followed Wolf’s actions as he set and readjusted the hydraulics and stabilizers . When the ship responded with amazing agility to the pilots touch Asher smiled to himself. “That is so cool.”

Wyatt’s voice seemed to ooze from the comm. “Wolf...I need that system back online. Be a good fellow an' see to it, won'tcha?"
Asher’s heart sank as he realized he’d pulled the wrong shunt.
“Wolf.. get the beacon off….. there’s a set of jumpers in the tool box to fix what I pulled.” The kid ran to the box and in short order returned with the clamp-ons.
“Here .. this’ll bring the line back up... Kora believed in being ready… she’d showed me a lot work’n on the gear..guess I need some more time with wiring. “

Roger has a sence of humor...just look at the fun he's had with Ash, shot in back.. blown off a building, nearly buried alive and that was just one day, lol.
But then Ash did have the Triplets...Rip, tear, fling.....
Don't get twichy Loki it's all good! If you feel there is a good story line to push tensions between character then by all means go for it. Q&A is a good place to coordinate that so it roles out how you want. Sometimes best friends start out beating the snot out of each other.

But is it wise to mess with the guy that can trip wire your bunk?
Better to educate than to punish! Who knows when John rolls a critical fumble and need help. When you need firepower instead of tech power, who ya gonna call?

Topic: Voyages of Rocinante - Serenity/Firefly RPG Subject: Color Deaf.........
Wolf had no sooner replied ,“I have no idea what I need, what the guay is going on?”, when the strangers voice came across the comm.
“Asrev’s got missile lock, disable the pulse beacon.”
Asher was confused at first but the realized that Wolf had not been on the ship long and had very little ship experience before hand. No wonder he was confused.
“Pulse beacon?” Asher looked to Wolf who’s eyebrow were furrowed. Then he remember that Kora had told him , “You love it, protect it.” She’d shown him how she’d put backups and shunts in all the major circuits.
Pointing to the port control panel Ash said ,”There, it’s in there.” The kid rushed to the panel and yanked out the door. Kora had coded the circuits so she’d know at glance were trouble might lie. The young man stared at the maze of wires, each seeming to have it’s own color wrap. Kora always seemed to hum a tune as she worked the wiring; Ash now realized it was her code.
Closing his eyes tried to remember those days working with that dark hair beauty who ran a no nonsense engine room. He could see her, but couldn’t hear her.
Opening his eyes he mutter, “Gorrum, I guess it’s just Blue for Beacon”. He reached into the box and grabbed the blue wrapped shunt and jerked it out.
Standing there holding the wire he looked at Wolf and said, “I sure hope it wasn’t Purple for Pulse!”

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: We Can't Have That...........
I'll post tomorrow.
So tired tonight, our Pre-Assessment didn't go as well as I would have wanted. Nothing we can't get over but it was draining. Then I got a flat tire in the parking lot of a local resturant. AAA said it take an hour to get a local truck there to help. I had it changed before they got there.
So I'm just it a good place to write Asher's post.
So Roger just chill and we'll be there soon!

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: More Time.....
Me Too............
Time, time, time, see what's become of me
While I looked around
For my possibilities
I was so hard to please
But look around, leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Hear the salvation army band
Down by the riverside, it's bound to be a better ride
Than what you've got planned
Carry your cup in your hand
And look around, leaves are brown now
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/s/simon+and+garfunkel/a+hazy+shade+of+winter_10215727.html ]
Hang on to your hopes, my friend
That's an easy thing to say, but if your hope should pass away
It's simply pretend
That you can build them again
Look around, the grass is high
The fields are ripe, it's the springtime of my life
Ahhh, seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Won't you stop and remember me
At any convenient time
Funny how my memory slips while looking over manuscripts
Of unpublished rhyme
Drinking my vodka and lime
I look around, leaves are brown now
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Look around, leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground...
Look around, leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground...
Look around, leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground...

See it even sort of fits, lol.

Topic: Voyages of Rocinante - Serenity/Firefly RPG Subject: Act 2.................
The Kid just shook his head slowly as he looked at the man sprawled unconscious on the passage way floor. Gater may have had the skill to fly a boat but he sure didn’t have the judgment and common sense needed to pilot this boat.
Trish signed to Asher to “take out the trash.” The gunslinger respectfully nodded to the woman that had just cold cocked the arrogant fool now lay on the floor. Ash reached down, grabbed the man’s collar and drug him down to the cargo bay. When the Roc had landed he hit the hatch control, hefted the Tian Di Wu Yohn Luh Suh (Completely useless Garbage) and dumped him off in the long grass.
Asher returned to his cabin to clean the mess caused by the antics of the last candidate. It didn’t take long to get things back in order.
The comm clicked on and a bright female voice came over, “Alright boys, we’re gonna take her nice and easy. Couple of loop overs, barrels, and an Immelmann or two. Dependin’ on how this girl feels after that, I might’n be going fer a defensive spiral. Nothin’ too taxin’ on those grav dampers.” He had felt the Roc lift off with a smooth purposeful movement. With his guns now secure in their cabinet he stretched out on his bunk.
Just as it starting to feel right thing went wrong. The klaxon blared and Ash was on his feet and out of his cabin. Wyatt had practiced them before so in an emergency folks acted, not waiting to see if it was a false alarm. Asher’s place was down in engineering so he was bounding down through the cargo bay and into the heart of the Roc.
As he took the place he had been assigned by Kora when she’d been his mentor in the engine room that calm female voice once again came over the comm. “I highly suggest ya’ll hold onto sumthing. This might’n be an Angel of Death, Hope you boys is ready down in engineerin’. Things might’n be gittin’ a little dicey.”
Ash looked over to Wolf, “You tell me what you need.”

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: I like it....
Loki, that is great to leave the jest of your, it give all of us chance to figure what to write. I'm finding that the Q&A is way under used to let folks know what up.
I too have been busy, but with work. I've had late nights and brain burn out from trying to get us ready for a automotive registration audit for TS16949. I have upgrade all of out quality documentation and try change from ISO 9001.
As for Asher when he hears the kloxon he is headed to Engineering to lend Wolf a hand. He's alway been the trainee and go-fer so it would be his normal station in flight. He used to help Kora when she was engineer. He has a d6 for engineering so he can help.
Tann you can write whatever you need Ash to do to help. I'll follow your lead in the post after to support the action needed in the engine room.

Welcome and here's your soft fluffy towel. You'll have need of it later, trust me!
If you haven't post on Comings and Goings then I'll use this as my greeting.
I've been here about two years and I've found some great folks and fun times.
I'm sure you'll find a game sooner or later. All editions get play along with other game set too.
If you have read "Pit F(r)iend's epic guide" on the home page then it's a great intro to the Inn.
Now game pace changes all the time, Real Life tends to mess with folks and it can slow the most active games. So don't let it bum you out.
Now don't forget when you in the DragonChat be sure stop in the lounge for a tall frosty mug of "Good Old Froth-n-Slosh".
