Subject: there is a lot to explore
Certainly you can examine and start to explore the mystery that is Angela. I really do not want to be the one driving that through an NPC (Stephanie) which is why I brought Catie onboard.
It will not be an instant reveal. Clues and hints will be dropped but it is a lot like River meets Dollhouse meets Cybersix with some Matrix thrown in.

The commands would have to be given like commands. So if school is our came in conversation it would not trigger Angela. The other aspect is what language?
Even if you did all have the commands, there is a girl shrieking, brothers shouting and all sorts of noise that will cancel out speaking.
I think that everyone is doing their roles just fine. I did not expect Angela to attack but it is within character.

Subject: Sorry people
As much as I have tried to get into the Traveller universe and produce a game for you, I am finding it impossible for me to carve out the time needed to prep and create an adventure in a rule system that I just learned. I gave it my best shot but this is not working. If I try to plow through to get the game going, I know I will be constantly doubting my work, double checking rules and all my other games will suffer.
Sorry to have got you all excited with the possibility but I can not in good conscience continue. Therefore I am bowing out as the Referee in this game.
Padre - you seem to know the rules really well, so I'd suggest that you take on the GM role.
Once again, sorry for this. I know I got your hopes up but better to stop now before we start than three or four posts in having the game fizzle.

No. Grace did not share the commands for Angela with anyone. Not even the captain. Grace sees the commands as a matter of human rights and would not share them. My mistake if I mis-lead people.
So Tess does not have the commands to give.

The fifth edition rules are being called D&D. WotC are really trying to underplay the edition number
The Starter kit is due out July 15th
The Players Handbook is due out Aug 19
Monster Manual - Sept 13
DMG is ...wait for it ....Nov 18
Yes, three months after the PHB.....
However, they are releasing a Basic D&D pdf free. the date is unknown (to me) but soon. The PDF will "put the rules in the hands of as many gamers as possible at no charge". much like a heroin dealer giving out drugs free, they want to hook you and then charge.
The books are $50 eacs (US) which means us non american will be looking at 65-75 per book.
The catch phrase for the new rules is "putting the dragons back into D&D" and the first modules involves ... wait for it ... Tiamat.
Yeah. I'm out.

The backpack is very heavy. This is mostly due to two gold statues (20 lbs each) within the pack. There are also numerous silver cutlery pieces, a large steel pitcher, a small brazier, and two arm-length ladies gloves made of red silk.

Angela has moved into "Ming" Mode. The commands that Catie has given are not the preset ones that will force her to respond. The flip side of that is if you use one of the preset ones, everyone in the room will hear it.

There is a flash of light and a loud “PAFFFT” as soon as the Mage utters the word Dinner. There are now six table settings at the table as well as a banquet of food. There is a roasted bird, carved and steaming on a platter. A roast of beef is partial carved and surrounded by roasted potatoes, carrots and onions. There are two baked fish with pink flesh (trout or salmon). Large mushrooms in a wine sauce are in a serving bowl as well as green beans in a butter cream sauce. A salad is available in a large silver bowl.
Two large soup tureens are present, one with a clear broth and the other a cream soup of some sort. Apple pie, pastries and assorted chocolate sweets are present. There is a cutting board with several different types of breads and spreads available as well.
Decanters of many different types of wine are available including the very hard to get Sylvari green wine and even rarer Khordaldrum Mushroom Wine. There are two small kegs with beer mugs next to them as well.
Ivan sniffs the table, “Whoa dude. This is some spread. But they baked the fish – what a bummer! Total waste of good fish.” Ivan then looks down on the ground near the table and reaches down, bring up a porcelain dish with a pile of brown formless meat in it. “Oh Dudes. This is major uncool! Majot uncool! I do not do fancy feast.”

I could post the opening by this weekend so you would all have the chance to do introductory posts.
I work on a once a week post basis. I acknowledge that many of you know the rules better than I do but I will learn as I go. That being said, I do not take well to being questioned on everything I do so if you have a query, ask but if I say that I have made a ruling - that is as far as I will argue it. If I want to kill you all, I will have the ship blow up. I am here to make a great story with you.

Long weekend was not as long as I hoped and I am behind on looking at characters. Have not heard from Grugg at all.
