Land?

Really? I'm thinking of the Firefly episode "Out of Gas" when Serenity and another ship dock in space.

But hey ~ I'm down. If you say it's not possible, then it isn't; I'm all about the GM having the ultimate say. *grins*

Out of gas

Probably hands down my favorite episode.

But for ships to dock in space I think they need to have a docking collar or some way to link up with the ship. That ship in 'out of gas' episode was a larger ship and was able to dock.

We cant dock with this ship in space probably because they are so small and dont have the necessary equipment. Just my guess, I will let the GM weight in on his thoughts.

clamp

RPN is right in that you need a special docking clamp and in the episode in question, the ship was a salvage operator so they had to have a docking ring.

With bigger ships they would have docking bays like the Alliance cruisers or Niska's Spaceport.

Some small "modified" ships have a special clamp to board undetected like in The final episode of the series and in the graphic novel "those left behind".

bleh

Thank you thank you thank you for the clarification!

Had an updated post all planned out in my brain.... then I worked my rear off and came home... and my creativity has promptly committed suicide. Hopefully that'll clear up tomorrow and I'll have something up for you all!

Fill it out............

Okay Cel, you get your post up and if we hear from "Grace" I should have enough to fill out my post. You already have the jest of it.

Is the Tong vs. Tong idea any good?

I have a feeling that there are more folks wanting to waylay us, so this is just the beginning.

I hope to post tomorrow.

I've really been stressed, the sale of our company hasn't been approved yet by the court and already two of the office staff, purchasing and HR, have been let go. We are all very nervous about keeping our jobs. The buying company has a plant just an hour away, so we are worried they will just use their own people for staff positions.

OK, so I'm whinning, but I need to vent stress somehow.

That is good news Ody. Hope things work out for you there; new bosses can be a blessing or a curse. Here is hoping for the former!

Thanks for the post...

I'm glad I gave enough to keep moving forward. On top of the job stress I've gotten a sinus infection which really has knocked me for a loop.

Even with the vailed threat we are still going beat it for the Baron.

I'm going to try and post tomorrow. I'm going to bed early tonight and see if can beat this infection. Some rest and a strong will. Maybe some orange juice too.

The Tong

I think that we should meet with the Tong and discuss things. The Tong are usually considered honorable and I think if we check out the situation and if we dont like it we can bug out. It might be something in the offering for later.

If you post the Captain's thoughts in game then I will raise my thoughts in game as well. It might be a legitmate offer and we always need another job after this one. Besides it is a chance to keep the Tong off out necks.

I think we should consider it.

I don't trust them

The Tong is still a type of mafia. They may speak highly of honour but I am pretty sure they don't do nice/hounourable things. I think we should tell them that we are on a tight scheduale and don't have time to dock or talk. Yes they can give us jobs but we might get trapped in one of thier contracts. Not to metion bad things happen to thoose who work for/against the tong.

Agreed

I hear you MMV; I don’t trust them either. I just thought we should discuss it in game. If it is decided we don’t do it then yes the ‘tight schedule’ excuse would be a good one. Maybe tell them that we might consider their offer when we have more time.

Whether or not we do this job for the Tong I am sure the GM will find other ‘jobs’ which will trap us into something.
