The Charon – The Cargo Hold – 13:20 hours

Oh well at least they were not in a brig. She reluctantly surrendered her PADD like both S’Talon and Rhiana, and went to her assigned spot in the cargo bay. She was glad that Rhiana had thought to scan the new hard drive she was given by security when she left Romulus. She does not say anything till after the Centurion return. When she mentions "Sorry I can not break the boredom with music, but perhaps Rhiana and Shiarrael can entertain us with recitations of Romulan erotic poetry." Shiarrael meets Rhiana look with a quick head shake of “NO” and lets her explain what they were doing. When she finishes Shiarrael will add.

“I too checked the new hard drive they gave me. Found a couple of odd files I did not remember and deleted the entire drive and reprogrammed it with just basic operational programs. Since then I added a few files about the Cerberus, the shoebox, the Stream Runner class, and Coffee, the making, brewing and effects. Those as well as the poetry are all they will find on the PADD I had. As well as a couple of other gadgets and upgrades, to enhance security.”

When she gets a questioning look from Rhiana. She will explain. "I got tired of not knowing if I was being monitored, so I had set up a couple of passive sensors to let me know if I was being watched by electronic means. If someone else were to use the device a small current will be directed to the casing to “nip” the user after 2 minutes of use and also no alterations will be accepted without my password. Then after 3 minutes an annoying program will start to run, a looped video of dancing blue Orion showgirls will startup and override all other programs until I enter the command to stop it. There is only 1 command that will work to stop the madness. Let’s just say I got tired of other people messing with my research notes. That is why I use the older model of PADD it is easier to modify and can hold a lot more memory then the newer models that are restricted by size.”

She will get a bit of a chuckle from S’Talon and one of the listening security guards.

She will then settle back and meditate since there was nothing else to do while surrounded by security guards in a cargo hold. At least there was more room and fresher air to breath.

Questions, questions and more questions

Oko is normally a light sleeper. So when he hears 2 voices talking in the night he wakes up. One voice is Moraglin and the other is Clint’s, both people have distinctive voices. Oko will stand up from his spot at the base of the tree where he was napping wrapped in his cloak. Quietly he walks over to Moraglin and softly says her name before he reaches out to clasps her shoulder.

“Morrraglin, was everything OK in town?” He would have asked more but his hand was conveying the fact that she was shaking (exhausted or mad?) . “This man is Clint he joined us this evening afterr you left to rrreturn that monsterr. He is standing thirrd watch for us. He is not an enemy. Why don’t you rrrest a bit? We can talk afterr you had done so. If you need some food I have a few lunches packed away, just ask”

He is hoping she was tired but why was she? All she had to do was return that monster of a horse to its owner and by her manner earlier that was not a hard task to do. So Why the late return and exhaustion? What could have caused her to get dirty and sweaty? He definitely smelt sweat mixed in with dirt along with her normal scent.

T’puuli walks in not sure what to expect. The magic’s in this room felt familiar somehow to her. She felt safe and happy for some reason, till she looked at the inlaid stone floor. At that point you will see a sadness creep into her eyes. As quickly as it shows up it is gone.

Picking a nice rug to sit upon, T’puuli will settle down in a comfortable position where she can watch both her companions and the kobolds. (Most likely towards the back of the group)

She will listen to the Crown prince’s request carefully, studying her companions faces (as best as she can from her position) as he makes his request. It dawns on her why she headed in this direction in the first place, this used to be a happy place. Used to be is the key part.

Topic: The Legacy of the Shade Lord
Subject: Back at Cha.

There is a pause; as if the dragon in the chamber beyond were considering T'puuli's words...

["I do not wish to part with the bovine; however, I do not desire to see the rest of my brood slaughtered. While I am certain I can fell the lot of you, it is obvious that your disappearance would arouse more suspicion. Therefore, I must offer terms for my secrecy to continue."]

The wyrm slowly takes a deep breath and continues.

["I can allow you to return the food I have taken, albeit the food is tribute; I will need compensation in some alternate manner to prevent my further depredations into their territory. In other words, I can offer you payment for the following: Employ under my banner, hunting for me those things which I need and those people to whom I am enemy; and second for your silence as to your knowledge of my whereabouts. Unfortunately for us both, I cannot accept refusal on this matter, so your acceptance would be mandatory... the only negotiable matter is what your services are worth."]

Kobold females, obviously occupying the socially lowest rung, carefully edge themselves towards the party, offering refreshments. They seem to favor T'puuli, as she is the most obviously like them. They carry trays laden with various cutlets of wonderfully smelling meats. Some bring pitchers of water, and a few females team up to bring wooden crates for the group to sit while parleying with the "Nest Father."

T’puuli will listen to the Nest father as he spoke. When she is offered food she will thank the server quietly and gracefully sit down on the edge of the crate brought in for that purpose. Racking her brain for how to best answer the Nest Father, without upsetting the whole deal. She was saved by the gnome who spoke up first.

The gnome sat down on a small chair and relaxes as if he had come down to see his cousin for tea. His brow furrowed as his hand deftly slips to the small metal object in a pocket on his hip. Three small metal barbed tines stab into the meat slices on a tray and then disappear as they are shoved quickly into the gnome's mouth. Chewing slowly, Melven uses the back of the multi- tined eating dagger to scratch a series of numbers in the dirt.

A swallow followed by a leather strapped sleeve across the chin, wiping away the juices and gravy.

"["So, if I get this correct... You, want to pay me 484 gold in silver pieces for services already rendered. Allow us to take back the cattle to the villagers. Then you’re going to pay me a monthly salary to go around collecting things for you... Expenses paid... and you’re going to let me keep all the extra bits that I find along the way. Oh, and you, and your kobolds here, are going not going to interact with the locals anymore either. Oh and one more thing, I want to be able to search through those giant old rusted heaps down the way, during my "off time" and keep what I want. And in return you want us to collect a few things for you and keep your location a secret. Oh and I almost forgot... if we don't your going to eat us. ]"

The wyrm takes a long slow deep breath.

["As for the items I require:
1. a stable food supply for myself and my brood... something that is not managed by my brood. They have no concept of saving for a rainy day.
2. A decent income. I cannot hope to stand against my enemies unless I can amass buying power.
3. Magic, Books, tomes, items, and scraps of rumors. I want anything I can find.

As for my enemies, take a step into my parlor here and see for yourself why I require absolute secrecy."]

The gnome answered back to the Nest Father with the ease of an experienced negotiator

"[Hmm. There are a few things that I need to discuss with this lovely woman here. If you will let us speak for just one moment.]"

The gnome turns to the drow. "Hello, my name is Melacrostondifie Glodanstiven. I am a Collector of Antiquities. I prize what many people may feel is... less than valuable, but that is only because they do not know its true purpose. Anyway, I am carrying on too long for our current contractual negotiation. Suffice it to say, I am a collector and can be very useful in almost every situation. However, I thought that we should definitely know each other formally before we enter a ... Illustrious One's den." With a broad smile and a quick tinkling bow the gnome finishes with "So, may I have the ladies name?"

T’puuli was floored to say the least. She can not recall another time she was treated with such courtesy. It took a bit a couple of blinks for the shocked look to fall from her face.

“Hello Melacrostondifie Glodanstiven my name is T'puuli Drathir'anon. it is a pleasure to meet you.” She will add in a low but clear voice so that hopefully Melacrostondifie only can hear, ((Ooc: The following is in Drow))

“F'sarn naut l'alurl a negotiations lu'ol ul'tro saph dos ph'xundus al. Dorn sevir nindel aglust wun dosst rahi, whol nin”

(Ooc Translation- I’m not the best at negotiations and it sounds like you are doing well, I’ll leave that part in your hands, for now”)

“Shall we go to see why the secrecy?” T'puuli will add in common.

She will gracefully stand up and wait for Melacrostondifie and any of the others who wishes to join them.

Stardate: 2374.09.06
ASRV-83964:E-025, deployed from USS Cerberus – 1300 hours

The last 36 hours were a bit boring. The only break to the boredom was the Centurion playing her strange instrument and after that Anderson fell on the Centurion setting off one of her attacks. She was medicated by Rhiana and slept until 09.06 at 0600 S’Talon was busy with his laptop computer doing something. Rhiana meanwhile looked to be in a trance. The 4 security officers assigned to the group slept in rotation and watched the 4 Romulans in turn. “Not much trouble the sneaky bastards could cause on an ASRV” That last remark came from the new security officer Brian Jacques who was assigned to follow after Rhiana.

Shiarrael had finished the manual for the Saber Class in a few hours. After that she slept, ate a light meal did a few stretches, then ran a scan on the ships systems. Finding all was operating within acceptable parameters, she will settle down and “re-read” the manual. In reality she will listen to the humans natter between them selves. Jacques is a complainer, always saying negative stuff and blaming everyone else for his woes. The Romulans were on the top of his list. He did however keep his voice down. Anderson was a quite one, mostly short sentences and was very observant. Lopez was one to laugh a lot and liked telling jokes, off colored to be sure. She was pressed hard to keep quiet on the funnier ones. Kishimoto was a lot quieter than Anderson, she was assigned to the Centurion and she seemed genuinely concerned about the Centurion’s conditon.

Shiarrael was on duty when the transmission from the Cerberus is received =/\\="Attention, crew of the Cerberus. This is Commander Jonathon Fletcher of the USS Charon. We have your location and are moving to pick you up; please stand by for transport. Upon arrival, you will be checked out by our medical staff, and then assigned temporary quarters. If you or any of the other occupants of your escape pods require immediate medical attention, please notify us, so that we may designate you as priority. Otherwise, sit tight, we will get to you as quickly as possible. Fletcher out."=/\\=

“It looks like we are to be picked up” She will say out loud. Toggling the switch to reply. Shiarrael will reply in turn using the format she heard from the pods ahead of her.

=/\\= “This is Lieutenant Shiarrael i'Ramnau Pardek on the USS Cerberus ASRV-83964: E-025. One medical situation, but stable, non-life threatening, No other issues at this time.” =/\\=

According to the manual the Saber class was a lot smaller then the stream runner class. (Just where are they going to put everyone?) Getting up from her seat she will move over to Rhiana to see if she was asleep or meditating. Either way she will be woken up. S’Talon closes his laptop.

Since Tellanth did not come into the tunnels, The Gnome looked like a full Gnome, Torigad is clearly part Black, Snowlily is just as clearly a full elf, Manuhol is defiantly a part Green and Ixion looked full human. That left her. Standing straighter she will also reply in draconic

[That will be me, We came for the stolen cattle from the human village not far from here and the offer of additional silver would be most welcome but not necessary. We did not come here to plunder your tribe, only to do enough damage to prevent pursuit while the cattle are being returned to the village, and to discourage any farther raids on the village stores and wares. ]

Which was true, she did not enter the tunnels for wealth. (Lets hope he agrees because we are SO not up to dealing with an angry full grown dragon AND his offspring. As Manuhol said “We can live to fight another day”)
