No problem, but since I didn't create the map, it might take a while for me to alter it to get what you want. I'll work on it.

Meanwhile, check out the PM'ed link ... (Et tu, Gruggster)

For a living? No.

Actually, I do it for a hobby, for fun.

I have a knack for finding what I want. Or sometimes, what others want. If I find something I like, I add it to my own archive for later use (even I may not know what for at the time). Usually, what I hunt for or find is created by someone else, but is public domain, or it's just being shared by the author or creator, or is out-of-print or expired-copyright, etc.

But if it will make you feel better, I'll start limiting my offers to one or two items ... heh!

Eol, Cap'n? Could either of you use this? A low-res map, but I have a higher-res image available if you can use it:

City of Drasnia (low-res map)

... or even it it would be possible, but:

As far as notification of updated threads in a person's "Games I'm In" list, how about any updated games listed in bold print, or bold and underlined print?

Kinda like the moderators shown in bold versus "us plebians" in normal type ...

Curious to find out if it's useable for providing material, or trashable as too much trouble ...

Subject: Thanks, Shaihis, but ...

any maps I provide, anything at all I provide, will not be by me. I don't have an artistic bone in my body or hair on my arm. I'm an hunter-gatherer of graphics

It's all public domain and out-of-print, out-of-copyright stuff that Utan and I have collected over the many yuears we've been playing. A lot of it doesn't even have names on the artwork for reference or credit. Our map library is currently still growing, but at the moment we have approximately 300+ maps of business, buildings, warehouses, inns, castles, temples, dungeons, docks, islands (more than we thought), tatto parlors, bakeries, fish-mongers, work-houses. houses of ill-repute, etc.

And 6 books full of nothing but traps (the Grimtooth Series).

I also have the complete boxed sets of Undermountain, City of Greyhawk, City of Waterdeep, etc, all of which have from 8 to 20 (24" x 36") fold-out maps ...

And we're still gathering more. Haven't figured out what to do with a lot of it until now.

... at Kinko's or Office Max, or Staples, or whereever is a good idea. Kinko's can scan it to a file if you take a diskette or CD-R(W) in with you. Well, someof them can, anyway.

Would it help you to know that I have scads of maps already digitized, and access to scads more?

Towers, temples, businesses, ruins, forts, harbors (I think), villages, thorps, towns, cities, local area maps, larger area maps, an island or two (again, I think), and maybe some I haven't mentioned here.

Did you get the link I sent you?

Subject: I can help (and would love to!)

1. I have loads of 1e and 2e game supplements from TSR, Role-Aids, the Catalys Series of books, and others.

Businesses, Warehouses, Temples, Residences, etc., all completely populated/equipped (or not, if desired).

Residences, Trading Costers, Town/city guards/watches/patrols, Rumors, Treasure Legends (with or without maps), etc. ...

I can scan/edit as desired, as all or most of this material is no longer copyrighted and most of the companies are now defunct ...

I can provide a holding area for images, documents, and files, and provide a link to the holding area for your use, if you you would like ...
If necessary, I can also provide the information necessary to add images to your posts, or PM/e-mail them to the players

In short, I can and will provide whatever I can, whenever I can. Just let me know approximately what you are looking for (post, PM, or e-mail) and I can send you some samples (complete with links to access data) ...

Topic: Suggest tools for the Inn!
Subject: Okay, now I can stop wracking my brain ...

DANG! I simply GOTTA go back to school! I was just getting into learning C++ some years ago ( i love to learn programming languages), and my instructor left me high and dry early on. The host of languages for server-side and client-side coding environments that came after has just got me intimidated ... I just don't have the expertise to write in javascript, Perl, ASP, etc. I'll have to let more experienced heads do that and I can just watch and drool ...

I'm thinking that a solution for the Inn would be to let the dice roller know which thread you'd like your rolls posted to, and the system could post them on your behalf. That way, you could see them, but only moderators could edit the messages.

That would work. No conversion to an image. My suggestion to that would be to make a thread-related link to the die-roller that would allow the user to add a brief description (max number of characters = nnn) to let the DM know without a doubt what bonuses and penalties apply (as the player sees it). This would be included with the text of the die roll and also be unchangeable (a commitment to an action?) ...

And since it would post on behalf of the member, there is nothing to archive and/or purge. More efficient than my idea ...

Topic: Suggest tools for the Inn!
Subject: Devalero?

I like your idea for a die-roll generator that would post a non-editable result. I am looking into the feasibility of creating a generator that creates the die rolls as text, then converts the text to a .gif or .jpg (or other low-res format) that would be saved in a central location that could be purged periodically. The HTML coding to reference the image would then be sent to the thread in question and would thus be non-editable text. I just haven't figured out (yet) the logistics of how to direct the die-roll image to a specific thread. I know a little about HTML (self-taught designer of my own web pages), but very little about javascript, which I think would be necessary. I intend to learn how though. So my own solution will probably take a while.

I welcome comments and suggestions ...

I like it. If you're on dial-up (like me), you sometimes can't get your post in fast enough and someone else's appears before yours does. This gives the opportunity to delete and/or edit the post to amend actions if you don't get in quick enough and someone "upstages" you ...

I have been browsing the site, trying to find something easy to start with. I think this is about as simple as it gets here. I am an avid and experienced table-top gamer who is becoming jaded with all the new-fangled changes to an old and wonderful game. I have the core books for 3.5e and nothing more. Since that is all that is needed here, I'll sign up, if you all can stand the competition ...

... and yeah, I'm humble, too.

Character is created, (oops!) Devalero. I'll arrange stats and shoot 'em to ya ...
