Plus that makes sense for the three discussions that seem to be starting up: cleric-rogue, barb-duskblade, gnome-dwarf.

Jethro listened, the dwarf seemed stalwart indeed, and a good companion to have in a battle, whether or not he was a trained fighter, he had at least experience and probably even more endurance. Jethro knew enough of how to fight that he too would be able to hold his own beside the stocky dwarf. Loyalty was a trait of his. The loyalty of others was one of the finest things to have Jethro knew and also had a feeling that the loyalty of the dwarf would be a definite aid in the coming days.

Jethro grinned as the dwarf asked the question on a hangover. Jethro had been through hangovers that would make hell look like a holiday and this had yielded to Jethro's will by now fading away under the plans of the coming day. But Jethro was wise enough to know that one should never appear as a liar, even if one had to tell a lie to avoid it. He had not intention of telling the dwarf he was fine, a gnome of his stature should never be able to with take a night like that without someone pounding at their skull to greet them the next morning. It wasn't a harm to appear weaker than he was either, as long as he never showed where the weakness truly lay. "I think I lost my head last night." Jethro laughed, "to be replaced with a skull full of throbbing pain. My stomach will soon abandon me as well if I try and stay on top of this donkey for the entire day. And you my friend?"

Sorry, did we ever give Wyrm an answer to the question earlier asked for example, in my post I put myself in the middle of the party, a good place for a sorcerer it seems and gboy and kod put themselves in the lead. I would put a formation something like this... personally

KoD - Gboy
Bezmir - Dragonblood - Admiral
Zodius - Jozan

This way we keep a healer close to the middle, I'm assuming you can hold your own in a fight as well, Admiral, this is how I envision clerics (especially of vengeance ). I can cast spells from the centre. If we're attacked from the back we have a ranger to back us up (with the help of Jozan) If we're attacked from the side we have a dwarven fighter (with the help of a ranger and a duskblade) and if we're attacked from the front we have not only the barbarian (with the duskblade) but Zodius on our arrows, Bezmir to flank, Admiral to heal, and Jozan to sneak around and snipe (sneak attack or otherwise). Does this makes sense to everyone. I'm sure there are loop holes but this seems the best to me. Plus this we we keep the barbarian far enough away from getting to excited and working on the phasing out process early

as for watches, two at a time, Admiral you only need four hours of meditation right? And I'm sure Gboy could handle a spooky night time shift on his own if necessary. How does all of this sound to you guys?

Jack strode into the elevator with the others. It was about to become clear, who they were, what they could do, and most importantly, it seemed, how they worked together as a team. Jack smiled when he saw Hans' mask, though no one could see it behind the scream of his own mask. It seemed the German's mask trumped the one that he had built on his own. He was impressed but a little suspicious... how and where did he get that? Jack was excited to understand these people, he'd never really spent time with other supers learned from them and talked to them and these all must have such interesting stories as Jack himself did.

They entered the street and piled into a huge metal car. He hoped to god that traveling in a hulking frame of steel wouldn't get the whole party killed before they could even defend themselves. It seemed stupid, there had to be a simpler way, a more inconspicuous way of getting there, the uniforms wouldn't help either but apparently he wasn't in command (though he was the one with his life on the line). Jack clenched his fists. He'd trained in all of his martial arts rigorously and fought with the trashy criminals that snuck out in the night to bring pain into their lives. He had brought true horror into the lives of these petty bastards who thought that they deserved to mess with happy people's lives... normal people's lives. Jack closed his eyes...

Footsteps.

Click click click.

A shadow fell over him in his mind.

Jack heaved a sigh. Gibson Hall would hear that boot on stone today. He would feel that shadow lay itself over his heart and grip his mind. He would see that silhouette and feel the horror and the desperation. Jack would show him what he thought he could get away with and Gibson Hall would scream, scream like a baby. Scream like Jack had screamed. Screw you Gibson Hall, Jack thought. He knew that anger would be his own enemy but it always built itself up inside of him with he came up against evil like this. Well, Jack promised himself, this particular evil would reign its last today. He looked to his party and breathed heavily. Okay, let's try this out.

Jethro had woken slightly groggy, he swam through the blurry memories of the night before. He had not intended to drink himself into the drunken depth which he had but the beer had been good and he smiled remembering Kannizan's antics, well if nothing else, they certainly could party well together. Jethro grinned. He was not unused to being hungover and swung himself out of bed shaking it off and going down to meet the group determined not to show the throbbing in his head to the party which he would fight alongside. He had learned rapidly to hide weaknesses and this was no different. He listened as the banter blew back and forth, sighing. This seemed rather silly, could they not make a simple decision and go together. Every member seemed to bear a bullheadedness and Jethro grinned imagining organizing a siege with this stubborn group. At least, they appeared to have a direction to travel there by.

Jethro swung on his pony falling into the middle of the party jostling on his party, he was slow but knew that he would have to be in the middle if they wanted to use his abilities. He was sure none had guessed his spell-casting talents, with a morningstar and a crossbow hanging off of him he just looked like a gnomish warrior or thief, and until combat came he would keep it that way. He came alongside the dwarf whom he had bonded with, to some degree, the night before.

"So, what is the extent of your experience as an adventurer, my friend?" THe gnome asked Kannizan, smilingly.

The sun beat down on the diminutive figures of a man with his horse trotting beside him, trekking across the vast plains. The rays of bright light shone against the heavy set of armour that covered the human's hulking frame. Prisms and rainbows spilled across the cracking grass of the gently rolling hills laid out to the bright, wavering horizon. Standing on that indistinct line that split the land from the sky was the tiny form of a village and this was the destination of the man who was traveling across the wide and brutal prairies under the great sun and the weight of his full plate which shone with a magical luminosity. He was handsome, strikingly so. His brown hair was cut short, revealing the perfectly sculpted face frame. It wasn't slender, or built with the high cheek bones of the evils nor broad and sunken as the dwarves but strong and wide but still thin with large kind brown eyes beneath his thick eyebrows that left a path between them for his nose, perhaps slightly larger than normal but more alluring for it. His ears stuck out just a little too much which gave him a childish appeal, almost cute if not for the scar running just behind his ear to his jawbone that gave him a mysterious dangerous that lurked underneath his cheerful appearance. Despite his body being entirely hidden in the plates of armour that protected him, it was obvious he was a man of considerable strength and muscle. He was a man of clear confidence, his strides were purposeful and powerful and took him quickly across the barren lands. There was a determination within his compassionate eyes, he had a quest and a suspicion that it lay within the village he was rapidly approaching.

Abraham Mercyblade had been hunting down the man for too long and he was eager to complete what he had set out to do it was time to move on. One of his hands rested on the flanks of Brahmin, his hulking warhorse and the other was rested upon the hilt of his greatsword, it too was eager to feel the sting of justice, the bite of Heironeous' balance, it hungered for liberation as well.

As he entered the streets of the city, Abraham heaved a sigh, it seemed the man he followed would not make it simple. His sense told him he was near enough and yet there was still some hunting left to do.

Suddenly there was a boy before him, Abraham smiled wildly, he loved children he knelt down upon one knee resting his hand upon his sword and looking kindly into the eye of the young boy. "My name is Abraham, and what is your name young lad?" He had spoken gently but also firmly to the kid. He hated patronizing and this boy was his equal within his mind.

Subject: Making Friends?

Jethro watched the spinning interactions with amusement. So, she thought she was the leader. Jethro smiled, he was sure she knew how to fight but organizing a party in battle had so much more to it than just self-preservation. Almyrikon, that was a man Jethro would listen to in a battle, he had leadership skills, if he was impatient and arrogant Jethro also so a bravery and an altruism within him that was much more important than an ability to hold their own. Jethro for himself was inexperienced in mass combat and wasn't about to step into a position of power, besides he didn't want to be attached to this, if he had to he could leave at any moment, that was his plan. Until then he would find a guide through combat in the barbarian. He wanted to stay alive not just kill the "bad guys". She certainly was the heir but Jethro had not at all contested that. He had merely said that any party needed a true leader to take a group into danger with confidence and Maranda didn't seem to naturally fall into that niche. He had nothing against her but the fact that he saw more danger in following an unsure leader than in fighting against great odds. But he had committed himself and apparently so had she so Jethro resigned to being ready to run at any minute. Jethro was unconcerned with honour and more with self-preservation. If he could have a good time and still get ahead, well then he was looking forward to this quest.

Jethro was unconcerned with all the chatter about equipment and the banter (flirting?) between the two half-elves. Jethro was unsurprised and smiled to himself, those two types of people were always attracted to each other. The independence of the cleric was something that attracted Jethro's interest, as different as they were perhaps there was a kernel of similarity between them. But Jethro had a different way of playing the independence and that was by checking people out, the half-elves were gone and Maranda and Ether were off on their own. Perhaps he could look into the half-orc and the dwarf. They at least seemed like fun!

"Boys! I'm off to purchase rations for myself and my donkey and perhaps a little extra weaponry, one can never be too careful. Following these quick trips I intend to use the gold for precisely what gold is meant for... booze. Now you too look like apt drinking pals. How would you feel about a little bit of celebration. Perhaps we could even get the cleric drinking." Jethro says with a wink. He didn't really intend on getting drunk, or spending much of his money, but it was always good to have friends when one was in danger. And these two seemed like the perfect friends to have. As for the cleric, Jethro was curious: he knew it was unlikely to get him in on any drinking games but at the inn he could at least keep an eye on him.

Subject: Enter the Heir!

Jethro turned to the heir, staring into her blank, dazed eyes. It seemed as the arguing had whirled around her she had descended into a world of contemplation and shock. Well, she had made it obvious she was not a people person, Jethro thought to himself and very unlikely an apt leader of a group which was tearing itself apart before it had anything to destroy. It was heavy with arrogance and ignorance Jethro thought to himself, confessing with a certain smugness to at least one of those traits.

"So... ummmm... We're all agreed to go then?" Whether or not Maranda could fight Jethro could not tell but it seemed she could not fight in a group. Jethro silently admitted that he too had never fought in a group though he was often welcomed and well-liked by strangers.

Bearspaw was typically blood lusty and unsurprisingly cocky. Jethro would like to see him in battle, he would be an asset indeed but seeing the skills of those around him Jethro had a feeling that he wouldn't stand out as much as he thought. Each were adept it seemed, if in a diversity of ways.

So many over eager people, Jethro was unnerved by the impulsiveness. In the middle of combat, such hotheadedness got men killed. With his tribe they always over-planned a con, knowing the ins and outs of every place they ever robbed and now it seemed he had been caught in the middle of a group which was prepared to run screaming mad into any hellhole.

What an arrogant group Jethro thought to himself as Velina shook her head disapprovingly, reproaching Maranda, So you guess we are all going? That is the best you can come up with as the supposed leader of this little expedition?" And yet something drove her in some way committing herself to the service of a woman she seemed to hold little respect for.

"No one, especially not herself, elected Maranda leader of the group. Simply because she has been put in the position to make initial choices for the group, once we are all committed to quest together, thrusting this responsibility upon her, without discretion or discernment seems harmful and cruel to the party and to her. Our group will not function if each member does not contribute the little they can from what skills they've acquired from the time they've spent upon this land, you will witness deterioration and danger, risking death." Jethro had more to say but let the message ring in their ears there, sitting back in his chair.

Okay, I have a question, how much altering will happen? Will we have to change anything in the actual course of action/dialogue that has already taken place or are we assuming that the same thing happened for the Lords of Waterdeep: Zodius could not be reached? or something of that nature?

Funny, Jethro thought to himself, he actually liked the group, as much as they argued and disagreed. Each had a quality which if molded properly could perhaps yield a skill that shone brightly and Jethro could find a home in that, he could do well, benefit quite nicely from working with these people, if only for a short time (as it appeared most of his affairs with others were).

The dwarf appeared to sum up his thoughts aptly: a collection of skills indeed. He did not seem to be a keen follower and yet, Jethro could forgive him that the words had been vomited out in a dry, uninterested air - apparently not the most charismatic of men... or he intended the failure of the group, which Jethro wouldn't be surprised by. After all, he'd be doing the same in that situation he reminded himself.

Almyrikon did care enough about Shallagh in the end to heed Jethro's words, perhaps with the support of Kannizan and the silence of the group but Jethro was encouraged to think he could seat a Barbarian king with his words despite his stature. And yet Bearspaw had not managed to actually comprehend what Jethro had said, it was the heir's decision in the end how they would go about what followed duly. He atleast was not required to explain it once more and could neatly return to his seat to watch the bickering continue.

Indeed the Barbarian's brains did not match his muscles for he had not even managed to catch that Maranda was the heir in the end, it was not another case of inattentiveness it seemed to Jethro but imbecility and yet Jethro did not care. There was bigger issues, if everyone could understand and agree they could begin on doing what needed to be done to overthrow the Keep's unlawful usurpers.

Now this cleric! He was certainly interesting, Jethro found him fascinating in his balance of orderly organization and eager passion to fulfill what was set before him. A sense of purpose guided this man, whether it was misguided or not, he had a path to follow and Jethro was curious to this man. Jethro could hide what interest he had in gaining money out of this. And yet, it seemed Jethro was hiding his complete disinterest in monetary gain from himself, disguising his hunger to satisfy the plentitude of questions he had with a facade of greed. Excusing his curiousity with the possibility of pay. He kept his thoughts silent however and simply nodded with the cleric. What worlds they would so quickly learn of each other once on the road. The dimensions of men were so much deeper, os much more many-leveled than the simplifications that were highlighted over tables, discussing these matters.

Leaning towards Kannizan, Jethro smiled a charming and yet dangerous and tough smile, whispering "I'm Jethro master Kannizan pleased to make your acquaintance it appears we have certain similarities in thought patterns." It always helps to have an ally Jethro told himself, what he would not admit was that he liked the dwarf. He would not confess that perhaps that strong and alluring smile had shone also from his eyes.

Shepherd saw in Bezmir a stubborn affection and felt a returning affection for the young man. It seemed he merely wanted to prove himself Shepherd regretted the need to take this chance from him.. for now, there was much time for Bezmir and even more for Shepherd. Whether this was merely a brief intersection of paths, they would meet again as roads often wind together to connect kindred spirits. Turning to Zau, Shepherd witnessed a wealth of compassion revealed, she was wise and knew the ways of conflict and of reconciliation.

She was one with the spirit in the same way Shepherd was with multitude of life that spread itself abundantly across the canvas of the world and each would be there to represent their own. Zau and he had a connection... how he had not yet met her was a wonder to him but the twisting of fate and time escaped the mind of even Shepherd. No one but Eternity could see such expanses.

Bezmir was not stupid, naive perhaps but how could one so young understand the ways of the world, he held a wisdom of his own which could not be denied, within its own respects. He could see where he was needed and was willing to sacrifice his own desires for the sake of the lives of others, this was the goodness Shepherd saw in humans, sacrifice, Bezmir was a braver man than even he knew. Shepherd watched him run and blow a new tune through his lungs, one of caution and love. And still Bezmir's final words stayed as treasure within Shepherds mind while Zau ducked into an alley to change her dress. What worry? The connection had been forged between the three of them now and it rung them together within their stories. Shepherd felt the pain of outliving them ringing through his soul and yet some joy, some hope and faith burned as an encouraged flame within him as well. A prayer slipped through him, this moment would be a test of the bonds established and if Eternity would have it so, then Shepherd would serve these two as a companion.

Zau returned and Shepherd looked her in the eye sensing the strange worry that now nested within her. What was this crack within herself that she saw as a fault line in her foundation... and more hidden, what was this hope. Shepherd saw this woman had lifetimes kept within her.

"I know you will come with me, but I ask you, heed Bezmir's pleas, despite his innocence he holds a wisdom both of us can be blessed by." Shepherd was not patronizing, this was not the man he was, it was instead a touch of kindness. "Come now, let us meet these hounds."

Jethro eyed the testy barbarian with something of a grin on his face, apparently he hadn't been used to being kept waiting. He seemed to imagine himself to be some great hero already, to the gnome he just looked like a bratty kid, couldn't be much more than a teenager Jethro thought to himself, almost smiling at his own arrogance: as far as Gnomes went he himself was just out of his teenage years. Despite being two feet shorter than him, Jethro held brief fantasies of picking a fight with this narcissistic young man, it wouldn't be so easy to eliminate Jethro as it seemed. And yet something about this half-elf appealed to him, perhaps it was the overconfidence that they shared. Jethro grinned, they both were sure of themselves. Sure that they were right... no mater what anybody else said. This almost seemed to be a selling point to Jethro and yet the racism that drove this man's actions was slightly excessive. Whether Bearspaw, as he was called, had travelled or not he couldn't have learned much with the closed-mindedness that guided him.

"Almyrikon, we were called here together and we will decide this together. You are not better than any other member called to this room though you seem so convinced otherwise. This mission is not your own, blood-relative or otherwise. We will hear from the heir and decide how to carry out our actions regarding the will's demands only after decisions regarding who shall go have been made. If you don't want to be involved with all of us, don't be involved at all. Whatever nobility or leadership you held in another life we are equals here and must work together to stop whatever evil has plagued the man we are mutually related and involved in." Jethro spoke with a charismatic ferocity that was not agressive and did not challenge but appealed to Almyrikon, with an equal intensity as the half-elf seemed to have.

Damn it all! Jethro thought to himself. Now I've really done it, committed myself to involvement!
