As I was one of the people who inquired I, of course, would love to find a place in your game. I just started watching the series so I still have a lot to learn about the world (or the 'verse I suppose ) and I am a little concerned about spreading myself too thin with games but if this is going to take some time to get started then I think I'll be okay.

I'm not sure what part I would be inclined to play, pilot was my first thought but I see you already have one of those. Perhaps I could try my hand at Captain but you may want a player more versed in the system (pun intended) for that role.

Either way, I'm very happy to see this game is starting up!

Finally you get exactly what you want! Two well-fed witches move in with you, boils and all. Of course they won't cook you into their stew, they're full silly. In fact the turkey they just made makes them all tired, hope you like to snuggle!

Wait... did you say witches or wishes?

*

I wish I could think of a good wish.

Edit: I also wish I could answer my own wishes. Darn, I'm just so much better at screwing over other people's wishes than thinking of my own. Maybe I've been DMing too long...

Are you saying I was wearing these chainmail undies for nothing?! Damn, the pinching was just the worst!

Especially after I heard about Meri's lingerie!

Yeah yeah I still need to make sure I have time for this game. I shouldn't go and get enchanted by a character idea and screw my schedule over. Shield I am very interested though. I personally am imagining either a Halfling or a Goblin bare-knuckle boxer. Haven't figured out how to actually make that work but I think it could be a fun character! Anyways... back to the grindstone.

I don't know whether to thank you or curse you Ayrn! I was half way done my paper, due for tomorrow, when I discovered you had posted this. Already I've run off to the site and am scrounging around deciding how to best execute my character concept.

Thanks kindly for the friendly pointer sir!

Well, I have a character concept and I am interested but I also have a paper to write. I should be able to finish it up today or tomorrow but still, after that, my main plan of action is to get my game going. If I can do all this and still play in yours then I am very interested. But, I probably won't have a character ready for another week or two. I wouldn't want you holding a place for me if there are others interested or the game is ready to go. So if I manage to finish my character in time I'll let you know. If not I look forward to a good lurk!

That being said... do you know of any way I can get my hands on the Pathfinder hand book, torrents aren't working for me and I just don't have the money to purchase my own copy. Yeah yeah, I'm letting myself get carried away with character ideas when I should be working but... I can't help myself.

Ps. Q/A is looking great Shield!

Well thank you for the welcome Pit! I actually found out about Firefly through this site initially. But it wasn't until a friend burned through the whole series and recommended it that I realized I was missing out. I'm trying to make it last but it's so hard to stop myself from watching four episodes in a night. So far I've managed to keep it to one a night and am already getting excited about watching Episode Three tonight! I'll have to chat with you about it once I've finished the series!

I've seen very few of the movies listed anywhere throughout the thread though I do watch a lot of movies. Oddly enough, I'm not a big fantasy (or sci-fi) film buff. I do agree about the tv series thread however, I just watched the pilot episode of Firefly last night and would love to chat about it!

Pit mentioned a book thread being fired up and I think that would spark some pretty interesting dialogue as well!

Well that just makes the game more tempting. I won't be free to consider anything for another week and priority is working on my own game so it just might work that I have time to join in to game with you. You may have already stated this, and if you have I apologize, but what level were you imagining beginning at? If you haven't thought this far ahead, that's totally cool with me, I just can't help starting to consider different characters I could be!

Soon you will be hooked to the Red Dragon Inn and even a couple days will thrust you into serious spouts of withdrawal... MUAHAHAHA!

Oh and welcome!

Don't worry the Grugg only bites if you poke him... or if you've eaten bacon recently.

Kick back, I look forward to evenings with pipe by the fire sharing stories my friend!

EDIT: Caution all new members will get a little wet and sticky! Cue Eol!

I thought I would be able to put off my interest in this game for awhile as I think about starting my own game but you have lured my interest once more! Darn it all, this just looks like so much fun! Must... resist...

I will keep following this thread and in a week or two I'll have a better idea of whether it is at all feasible for me to play. If it is then I will let my creative juices burst through the floodgates and I will begin thinking about my character. If it isn't... well they just might burst through anyway. For now, I love the sound of the system Shield!

Hey Shield, I am reluctant to commit to any game without being sure it is exactly the game for me, simply because I have the tendency to get into too many games for my own good. That being said, I think the idea is very intriguing and will be keeping an eye on this thread!

I do have a couple questions, now that my interest has been peaked. Of course, I understand if you haven't considered a lot of this yet, but no harm in asking. What edition would you run it in? 3.5 I assume based on the Eberron references? Would all the characters be goblins? I assume not but I thought it was worth it to ask. Are Goblins the dominant race in your imagination (in the way the Humans are the dominant race in most D&D worlds)? I have many more questions but those are just some initial things that I wondered about and may play a deciding part in whether I end up trying it out or not. Great idea though and I'm sure when exams and other spring business clears up it'll generate a lot of interest!

Topic: Got the itch, the desire, and the time for a game..
Subject: You've got me thinking....

I share your sentiment in longing for a new game my friend and as I haven't gotten any response so far in the thread I started in Comings and Goings and saw that there is little response here as well (not to mention its pretty dry in general in the recruitment threads), the wheels began to turn.

I have had a game that I've dreamt of running for a long time now. Twice I've tried to start it, once on here and once on tabletop, and both times fickle players and RL issues were it's bane, bringing it into stagnation. But I know that you are a dedicated player and if we could get a couple more, equally dedicated to putting the time and effort into making a game worth both playing and reading that would have a real lifespan, I would be willing to truly give it a shot.

The game is based on a slightly modified version of 3.0E D&D. The changes I've made to the system I've made with the hopes of grounding it closer to reality and putting the spotlight on the characters as real, honest living beings that develop and grow. It certainly would not be a hack and slash but the plot is pretty exciting and epic. The whole idea came out of the idea of a game where the characters truly come alive and we watch them grow and change together. I would expect no more than one post a week, but I would expect time and care to go into the constructing of that post. I want the game to read almost like a novella or a serial we've all written together.

I know we've played together but in case you do want references, any of the games that I was once in before a crapload of serious RL issues drew me away from this site without warning a year ago should show that I put a lot of work into both my posts and my characters. I would love to game with you again and the chance to finally start this game and see it truly come to fruition is very exciting for me. The rule system is my baby and coordinates with a dream I've had for a long time of playing in a game that truly dedicates itself to the natural and realistic growth of its characters in an epic story. If you are interested I would be delighted and honoured and will open up a recruitment thread in hopes of grabbing a couple more players.

Topic: Back and In Search of a New Game!
Subject: Back and In Search of a New Game!

Hey Folks! I wasn’t sure whether to put this up in here or in Recruitment (and mods are welcome to move it at their will)(Is good here!) (Thanks! Wow, I've obviously been gone a long time when I can't remember who is color green...) as it’s been a whole year since I found my way onto this site. Firstly, I want to apologize for dropping out of so many games without notice, I always get excited by too many recruitment threads and sign up for too many games when I don’t have the time. I got busy with exams and papers last year and had to give the site a break.

But, as the school year winds down, I find myself craving both D&D and this site in particular. I’m also getting tired of only writing for school papers and am itching to play a game. So, on that note I return to the Red Dragon Inn in search of a game. As far as time commitment goes, I don’t think I’d want to commit to more than a post a week and I’m most comfortable with 2e, 3e and 3.5e. I still have about two weeks of heavy school work but I wanted to start looking now.

I’ve been lurking around the recruitment thread for awhile and haven’t seen anything pop up but I thought I’d put the word out there that I’m looking for a game. The roleplay and the writing of the game are extremely important to me, and I put a lot of work into the creation of the character, and trying to make my posts well-written. So, if anybody has an opening in their game I would love to catch up and jump in or if there are any new games opening up, I’d love to play!

Thanks for waiting Almerin, sorry I disappointed again. I hate to keep everyone waiting here. I'm glad you went ahead and wrote the update I'd rather have a game still moving which I can backpost into than a dead game I've got the time for.

I really enjoyed the update, nice work Al. I'm looking to post soon. I've been kind of screwed over for time the last months. This week is busy but you've all been very patient and giving so I can bite the bullet and hammer out a post soon. Thanks again everybody, I really enjoy this game!

Okay, I'm in the process of writing a backpost. Sorry its been a week since I said I would post, I'm still getting back into the rhythm of posting on this site but I find this particular game very enjoyable and fulfills my need to practice as a writer. What I'm saying is, I hope I still have a foothold in with the rest of you and I hope to finish my post soon!

and I'm sorry for it Almerin and all. Life threw me curveball after curveball, not necessarily all bad but all busy so I'm sorry I didn't have time to even post a notification. If you give me this week to attempt a post to get myself back in, that'd be lovely. If I don't make it I'll probably have to drop out but let me see what I can do. This game has brought me great joy and I don't plan on abandoning it so rapidly.

This makes most sense for both the game and myself. This game is easily my priority on the inn right now as I've put the most work into it. I plan on slowing down to read over what I've missed tonight and MAYBE even getting a post in. Hello everybody. As some may have gathered, my face has not been seen around these parts lately and, trust me, it is not out of personal volition. Life has been insanely busy of late and this, as well as many other things, have had to suffer for it. I want to apologize for holding up any games. I know that I had a hand in four different games and I will make a more personal post to each of them explaining how I plan to proceed. Besides that, looks like the inn's still got gusto and I'm glad to see it. Hopefully I'll have more time come summer. Thanks everybody and, again, I'm sorry.
