Topic: Treasure Seekers Subject: WAY TOO EASY
As the Seekers began their descent down the steps, the sound of the 'Happy Water' of the now discovered underground river cascading to the bottom of the natural cavern, had more of a soothing effect upon their tense emotions but Crow was not buying it, something felt wrong. Then after five steps, each littered with gold coins like the 3 the Ranger now had in his pocket, the Seekers found themselves on a landing about 45 feet long and ten feet wide.
From this landing Crow were able to pause and examine the surroundings that awaited the ten Seekers below. As far as he could tell the air was fresh with no trace of poison, or any smell or trace of any of the undead inhabitants from above.
Then down another seven steps and another landing, Crow watching Amur all the way keeping him covered. Then another six steps that ended between two walls, bordering a stone floor. Each set of steps was littered with gold coins, but at the bottom he could see three chests with yet more gold coins strewn all around them. At this point Crow realized why he felt as he did.....This was all to easy.
True they had faced the undead above, the Elf Ranger assumed were the guardians of this place, but no one puts three chests of gold, a set of bracers and dozens of gold coins, with just undead as guards.
Then from behind came Elyra’s raised voice.
"I would like to take a look at that parchment with Mylos before we head down any further. Might give us a clue as to what awaits.”
Crow had no problem with that, none at all. If there was a trap down there better someone more familiar with magic and such then he himself. Sheathing his two swords he took his bow, ’Dragon Keeper’, from his back and knocked an arrow keeping a second ready for rapid reloading. Moving to the best vantage point he could find, he covered the two Bards as they moved past him, nodding to Elyra with a smile of knowing, then watching them head towards the skeleton hand.......

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: Well then it's simple
Once he realizes he can't really fly it all that's left is to hoof it as fast as he can towards a point where he can be of some help.
So that's what he'll do. Unless of course the dice roll badly and he breaks a foot or leg

Roger you said leave my post as is and I did. I leave the choice up to you and the dice if Wolf realizes in time that trying to fly the shuttle is stupid for a number of reasons.

Only problem is I'm not there But I'm working on it have no fear. Wait no have fear if I somehow get the shuttle up.
Wait a minute wouldn't Wolf be smart enough to know better then flying the shuttle as it would just spoil any sort of surprise on his part and make him and the shuttle more of a target. I can't believe I just thought of that Wow talk about a few weeks long blonde moment.

You two are sooo cute almost like a married couple
And yes Ody the M-4 is very nice It replaced the M16A2 with a better rate of fire and a much better ballistic profile. I enjoyed shooting it very much at a recent gun show I went to, to buy more ammo for my FMK 9mm handgun. Going to a refresher handgun course next month and then 4 days later for my CHL license

Topic: Treasure Seekers Subject: Let's be off
With both swords clean Crow was ready once more to head further inland and find the source of the sound of running water. As he and Tohmas examined the terrain ahead of the others, the sound of this ‘Happy Water’ seemed to grow louder and louder!
Signaling the others to stand quiet they could all tell that this was the sound of a river somehow flowing underneath the rubble. With no sign up to this point of neither any aquatic life, nor any animal that would be drawn to such life sustaining water it was clearly a mystery to investigate. Putting his ear to the ground the Ranger attempted to determine which way the water flowed. He was rewarded with the information that the river was not only covered by rubble, but at a particular point seemed to cascade downward into a cavern.
Standing up he passed his findings to Tohmas who after a bit of his own investigating also concurred that Crow was indeed correct in what he had discovered about the Happy Water. With Bartimeous discovery of gold beneath the rubble then stairs leading there was no doubt that the Seekers would venture forth. Bending down Crow briefly examined one of the gold pieces and found nothing amiss about it and so took up three of them. Like the eye patch, which he had not worn, they might very well come in handy.
Once more one of the two Seekers in the lead along with Amur the Seekers all started down the steps and into the semi-darkness beyond..............

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: Already decided
The post stands as first posted with Wolf headed to the shuttle. In his worry for the rest of the crew and what he thinks of as HIS ship he has not yet realized that he can't fly the shuttle worth a damn
Once he realizes that he will run at best speed towards the ship using whatever cover is available. Once close enough Wolf will crawl to a good vantage point to get a good look before he just runs into the open.
Also question does the JC39 have a scope mounted, or a laser sight or just regular sights?? I kinda remember I think that laser sights were talked about once on Ash's weapons but do not remember the gest of that conversion.
Giddy your one of Brom's Sons rt?

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: LOL I love it when a plan comes together
See Roger that was the whole point, points! I knew if I seemed whiny you'd give me reward points for being stupid. Man I'm good.
It's all good my friend, points or not, I'm still running to the shuttle. However your idea of Wolf running back to Rocinante is not a bad one. Depending on what you post I already have a post working in my head.
A big welcome to you Giddy and an apology. First the welcome I enjoyed your first post and thought it well written and I look forward to playing in this game with you as John or a character of your own creation.
Now the apology If I had know you were taking over John I would not have posted as I did and for the most part blown him off so please accept my apologies
Roger as for Destiny I know when you started that game you wanted new players you had not played with before instead of us old hands but once again I raise said hand to let you know I'd like to join that game also. Maybe this time I'll be the gunfighter

Topic: Voyages of Rocinante - Serenity/Firefly RPG Subject: Iney miney mynie mo, catch a tiger by the toe!
Wolf having moved to the ladder with John covering him moved up the ladder alone. Reaching the top he did not hesitate to bring the heavy shotgun on his back to his hands ready to fire. Covering the area of corridors and doors to barrack style dorm rooms, Wolf checked the immediate area finding no signs of life. Motioning to John to join him on this clearly resident ional level he still covered the immediate area with the shotgun just in case.
Once both mechanic and tech guy were on the same level Wolf once more swapped shotgun for assault rifle and the two pressed onward. Bunks upon bunks and cot frames with old mattress’s were all that now remained behind in the living quarters of the workers housed here at one time. As the two Rocinante crewman moved past these abandoned area’s they could see another set of stairways leading up on both sides of the central shaft to the next level and the centralized processor controls.
However as they started to move up the left hand stairway both their comms came to life.
"Wolf! John! We got a situation. Some thrilling heroics might not go amiss soon! Real soon. No talkie back."
No talkie back? What the hell was going on back at the ship He thought to himself. Clearly it had been Tess’s voice on the comm and she sounded nervous all right but he still had his orders from Wyatt. Standing looking at the tech guy he waited for his input but John for the moment had nothing to say it seemed as he looked at Wolf. Thinking quick and though he hated to do it he could only come up with one way to get both things done.
“Ok John you stay here and do what you can to prep the processor for removal, I’ll take the shuttle and fly back to the ship and try to find out what’s going on. If it’s bad Kimche I’ll do what I can to get word back to you."
Clamping John on the shoulder as he continued to head up the stairway, Wolf ran back towards the shuttle and then the Rocinante.

Yeah Gnomes are very good underground that's Y he is second. However if he trips a trap not gonna matter much who was in front as we will be, or at least a good portion of us, DEAD.

Topic: Treasure Seekers QnA Subject: Party Marching Order
Here is my suggestion on party marching order and why.
Amur-Thief-Half-Elf: Amur is the thief of the party so he has to go first. Infravision
Mylos-Bard-Gnome: Mylos is armed with both magic and a crossbow. Infravision
Crow-Ranger-Elf: Crow is armed with two melee weapons and a long bow. With Mylos being a Gnome can use his bow to fire over Mylos’s head. Infravision
Jaufre-Paladin-Human: Can provide melee support and Turn Undead if needed
Willem-Fighter-Human: More melee support
Tohmos-Druid-Human: Versatility being a Druid very good, can change as needed. Secondary healer
Bartimeous -Cleric-Human: Primary healer centralized to help all members of party as needed. Turn Undead to forward or rear.
Areldor-Mage-Half-Elf: Rear magical support. Infravision
Vincent-Knight-Human: Rear melee support
Elyra-Bard-Elf: Rear guard. Carries two melee weapons, short bow and has magic. Infravision

Topic: Treasure Seekers QnA Subject: I think Ody
just got Mylos and Amur mixed up. Now as far as Crow moving behind Amur that's fine by me but as he is a Half-Elf and I'm a full Elf we don't need any torches to help us see. Best to keep them behind us so they can be better used by the humans of the group. More in the groups center.

The pirate swords that way we can carry them by the pommels with out getting burned.
Now is there anything else you need to show you we have what is needed to make a pair of homemade torches??

Topic: Treasure Seekers QnA Subject: Again no problem
Well that's what my mother calls them when she buys an 8 pack as 1 stick. If they were lone candles I would have said 5 candles
I have 20 bandages which are normally good sized if you look in the most D&D equipment guides. We again take 4 bandages, wrap two together, soak them in wax, put them on a pair of Skeleton weapons, and once again we have torches.
Plus the bandages will actually soak up the wax much better making our homemade torches burn longer.....

Topic: Treasure Seekers QnA Subject: Beg to differ
Easy solution seeing as we do not need oil as candle wax burns as a fuel source as stated below.
For a candle to burn, a heat source (commonly a naked flame) is used to light the candle's wick, which melts and vaporizes a small amount of fuel, the wax. Once vaporized, the fuel combines with oxygen in the atmosphere to form a flame. This flame provides sufficient heat to keep the candle burning via a self-sustaining chain of events: the heat of the flame melts the top of the mass of solid fuel; the liquefied fuel then moves upward through the wick via capillary action; the liquefied fuel finally vaporizes to burn within the candle's flame.
As for wood if we have none then we use the bones of some skeletons or wrap the rags around the blades of the rusted swords.
Cha Ching! Torches
