Sounds of Trumpet - a game of dark heroism

...and the End shall begin with twice the holy... -unknown author
There is no prologue to this game, it begins merely days or hours after you find out that your every, normal day is not so normal.

The day began however you intended it to begin, but then something happens. You move faster than you should, your stronger than you were, you feel invincible, you feel invisible, you move through objects, you fly. Whatever it is, it scares you. That is all you know.

This is a game of M&M 2nd edition. If you wish to learn the system, you can PM me. I need no more than 7 players. 7 would be ideal, but less can be workable. What's at stake? End of the world.
This is a Power Level 8 game. Having multiple, unrelated powers is discouraged, but not entirely banned. Magic is not allowed. Devices are not allowed. I may ban certain powers or limit them somehow (but I will be fair in doing so).

All characters must have at least a single Complication (M&M p. 122) or one Drawback (M&M p. 124). The Drawback can have any rating.
Note that you are not heroes at the start of the game. You are pretty much an average (make a special note of the word) guy/gal who happens to wake up with super powers. You've had these powers for less than a week, probably less than a day. It is even possible you haven't realized this before.
What happens then? Weird things. Prophecies, unknown agency, weird guys on the streets. This is a global phenomenon, so you are not limited to a single city or country.

Things are going to be very weird. What will you do?
Anyone interested?

YES

Brianna and I. One of our favorite table games was of playing Street Level heroes, in a system call Danger International. So sounds fun.

Will need information about the system.

Interested...

Here's my expressed interest.

While you said no devises, would you make an exception if the backstory was "scientist stumbles upon alien technology (battlesuit)"?

Just curious... I have a couple of other ideas too so it's not a deal breaker for me.

No

The idea was that you wake up with this power, not that you found it in the backyard. The former is critical to the story I had in mind. Aliens and extradimensions won't have any part in this game. Sorry man.

Another one?

You're running two of them at a time? Garghaghaghghgagh.

This is a possible expression of interest based of when the start date is.

Depends

It depends on when and if the game gets enough players to start. I still have to take care of some things, and update the games I'm currently running before I can start this one.

hmm...

emybear, welcome aboard.

Drakar, I'm afraid I'll have to put you down as a "maybe". You still haven't posted once in the WoD game despite having a character, and I prefer not to give up a spot in the game to someone who doesn't intend to fill it. I'm going to say "no" to you unless you convince me otherwise.

um

Technically I have been waiting for you since I don't like to post to games with incomplete characters. It causes many issues you know for both players and GMs. You said something about getting back to me after exams and you were writing a paper at that time or something. I didn't have a problem with it so have been waiting. Was going to begin working on that character again this week since my basement is no longer flooded but saw this game and figured as far as this one went it sounded great but don't know the M&M rules that well so you would have to make most of char prob with little of my feedback or I would have to try to make and then have feedback from you. If want to keep me a maybe that is fine if someone better comes along that is ok also. Will start on that vampire character later today I think so if you could look for that last pm I am still waiting for some feedback on if you lost I will resend still have same questions I think.

Well then...

Consider me convinced

You may have to forgive my bad memory, I occasionally forget some things such as important PMs and gaming posts. I'll add you to the list of characters then

It is no problem really that you had forgot you were busy and then I got busy for a bit.

1 More

There's room for one more, after which I'll start anxiously waiting for your characters.

If anyone of you doesn't have the core book or needs help with the rules or character creation, send me a PM so that I may assist.

Count me in please

I’d be interested. Should hopefully be able to send you a character concept by the end of the week.

Could you give us any more information on the rule syatem for this one? Also, what sort of tone are you going for? It could be handy to know the sort of game you've got in mind when we're designing characters.
