Star Wars

I want to get another game of Star Wars going, either as a player or as a GM. I would love to play a Mandalorian, or run a game focusing on Mandalorians, but with exams coming up I might not have much time to run yet another game. I'm willing to try though.

So here's the question: Is there anyone who's up for a game of Star Wars? I was thinking Saga Edition, or Revised, since those are books I have access to. Not sure about Free Form though.

But any interest? As players or GMs?

Anyone?

Yes I'd love to play in a SW game. I don't have Saga edition, though, just 'Revised'.

hmm

I personally prefer the Saga Edition. I'm just now reading Revised for the first time, and at a glance it seems to me that I might enjoy SE better. It has fewer Classes but much more options for each Class, so each Class in Revised is covered in SE. It has fewer Skills which makes things much simplet in my oppinion. Little stuff like that.

But I could probably go either way.

Well either's fine, I'd just need a little help if we go down the Saga route.

Of course we first need to rope in a DM...

Well I would be interested in playing, but i could also run, even though i am new to here and dont have a name for myself yet, and am familiar with sara and revised.

Interest...

I could be persuaded into joining another SW game... and possibly GMing one.

It would depend on what type of game we were interested in playing. If I were to GM, I'd likely put together a low to mid-level game (level 3 - 6 ish), set somewhere between the Old Republic and the Rebellion time frame. Characters would be "good" and "heroic" in nature. And the game would likely be a one-shot game, of the "search-and-rescue" variety taking place on one, maybe two different locations (so limited space faring).

Those are just my ideas... what are you all looking for in a game?

Personally?

I'm just looking to play a game. I'd like to play a Mandalorian character, but I could find something else if Mandos wouldn't fit.

If I were to GM, I have an idea for a game focusing on Mandalorians set in the approx 20 years before episode 4. The players would play Mandalorians who sell their skills as guns for hire and bounty hunters. That's my idea. Probably not a one shot, but it is a possibility.

I'm not too fussed about form the game takes really. Playing Mandolorians sounds interesting, and Ayrn's description of a game too sounds fun.

Does one of you want to GM more than the other?

currently

I don't really mind either way. If my Mandalorian game doesn't take off now, I'll probably start it later. Currently, I don't know how much time I have to start a new game because exams are coming up and other school stuff.

I'd appreciate it if Ayrn would take the mantle of a GM.

Sigh

Well I hope the game does take off and go well with a good gm, I will bow out of it myself for now, until I get a name made for myself in some fashion instead of being ignored with offer to run and help. Good luck with the game.

oops

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to insult you or ignore you. I would really like to hear your idea for a game if you have one. I bet we would all much rather be players than GMs for this one, so if you are interested in GMing it would be great

What I meant when I said that I would appreciate Ayrn being the GM for this one, was that I would appreciate not being the GM myself. I didn't mean to ignore any other ideas.

DMing the game

Geraint,

Like Skari said, we're not looking to ignore you. In fact, I'd like to hear your ideas for a game!

I've read your recruitment for SW: Redemption. I thought your recruitment post was good. However, I'm not interested in a free-form game, nor in the basic premise you laid out (no offense) of running a ship. It reminded me of a number of Star Trek games that have run/ are currently running here at the Inn which also haven't captured my attention.

You are right in saying that you are new. Do you need to build a name for yourself before you can run a game here? Nope. You mostly need people interested.

I'll tell you what did attract me to your SW: Redemption Recruitment post. Initially, it was the fact that it was Star Wars. I like the Stars Wars setting (though the time after the Rebellion is not so interesting to me).

But I was also attracted to your writing style. In my brain, I thought, "This guy would probably be able to tell/write a good story. I'd be interested in being a part of a game by this person... just not this one."

Anyway, what I am trying to say is... my above post was meant to tease out more thoughts about what we are looking for in a game. I stated my thoughts... I'd love to hear more from all of you. (especially you, Geraint!)

I didn't mean to sound as if I was ignoring you either Geraint.

And I pretty much agree with what Ayrn said (he used his force powers and forced me to say that... )

Saga Edition

I also heard that the Saga edition is a pretty big improvement on the previous d20 versions. So I'm curious to try it out.

I agree with Ayrn, I'm not much for free-form games. I also read your recruitment thread for Redemption and I probably would've joined if it had been system based.

At the very least, it appears that we are all interested in hearing your ideas if you have them. So why not share it with us?
