Ok, so I finally got around to getting some basic info about the game out.

All players begin at lvl 1. Max starting stat is 85, but feel free to use less. No more than 2 18's though, to keep things balanced.

3. We'll be using any 4e stuff you can find, just run anything iffy past me first.

Race restrictions: Only humans, halflings, elves, dwarves, and half-elves.

Class restrictions: Any class you want from 4e, and if you want something from 3.5e, I'll get it converted for ya.

The starting point is the Red Dragon Inn (Naturally) in the small village of Herbsburg, about 30 miles from the capital city of Stormreach. This world we're in is set in the country of Aleria, surrounded on one border by ocean, one border by mountains, and the other two open to neighboring countries Fierden and Jakaar. More will be revealed about this later.

I'll get to determining starting weath/equipment when I get some people signed up for the quest.

Here's a little background.

500 years ago, the kingdom of Aleria fell under siege by an evil necromancer named Huron Lycast. The battled raged on for 10 long years, with outlying villages becoming deserted or havens for the mage's undead army.

In a cold December, Huron's army was at the gates of Stormreach, and all seemed lost. Suddenly a hero, who's name has been lost to history, ran to the top of the highest spire of Stormreach and began chanting a long-forgotten incantation against the howling winds and the clamor of battle below. When the last syllable was spoken and the last gesture made, a powerful roar came from within Stormreach's deepest, darkest place, a roar so horrible it stopped even the undead mid-stride. The ground began to quake, and ripped apart. A terrible dragon flew forth from the ground, spurting flame, with every wing beat the crash of thunder. It's silvery scales shone even in the starlight of that dark night, and The undead were consumed by the power of that dragon in mere hours.

Hearing of this grave defeat, Huron made a dark pact with a demon from the Fey. The possibility of victory in exchange for his very soul. Leading a last blitz against Stormreach, he was confronted at the gates by the same hero with an army of his own. The battled raged for two days until the hero and Huron were the last men standing on the field. Their battle was waged for two long hours until finally, Huron struck a mighty blow against the hero, mortally wounding him. As he was going to make the strike that would end the hero's life, the hero whispered words of magic once again. The dragon flew forth and consumed both men in a torrent of magical flame. Only a darkened patch of earth was left.

In time, the dark patch of earth sprouted wildflowers, even long after the dragon's disappearance from Stormreach, freed from its heroic master. Stormreach grew strong again, and peace was known once again throughout the land.

Recently though, there have been whispers of graves opening and the dead walking again. The cemeteries have been closed off by the most powerful magical barriers, wrought by the most powerful mages in all of the kingdom, The Seven Councillors.

There is talk even among them of Huron's return, but they haven't any idea how this could be possible. Their ancestors had seen and written about his death in many ancient tomes. Whether it is Huron or not, the evil that is beginning to rise again in Aleria must be stopped. That's why Alestir Tuvalt, the head of the Councillors, has called forth for adventurers, ready to protect their country and reap whatever rewards they will find. The general feeling among the Councillors is that the evil is spreading from an ancient tomb, The Tomb of the Unnamed Hero, a shrine built to honor the hero who sacrificed himself for Aleria. Why the evil seems to be spreading from there, no one knows, but it must be found out, and stopped before all of Aleria is consumed by the encroaching powers of darkness...

I think this would make a great campaign, but even a one-shot through the Tomb of the Unnamed Hero would be really fun, I think.

As far as postings go, this would be a once-a-week game, and once players are found, we'll decide on the best day for everyone and get the show on the road!

Backstory:
Jonathan's father was a city guard, from a long line of city guards, specialising in the use of the classic longsword. But, to his father's dismay, he spent his time training not in the use of their ancestral weapon, but in the use of lighter, quicker weapons. Having spent the beginning of his life training, he plans to seek adventure for the pure thrill of it and nothing more.
