Oblivion based game

It just occurred to me, has anyone here heard of the game or books of the Elder Scrolls? If you haven't, it is probably the best RPG Video Game to date (in my opinion). It has a massive world where you can go virtually anywhere you see. You can break into people's houses and everyone has a schedule. Once someone dies, they're gone of good. So one could say it's the ultimate SIM Video Game.

Back to the topic, I would like to play a game based on Oblivion or Morrowind. However, I do not know how to GM and I don't know if anyone knows enough about it or has the time to GM for me. If someone could please teach me how then I would be so thankful and I would try to run an amazing D&D game. I'm not sure what kind of ruleset I'd base it off of, I might make a simple ruleset of my own that I'd post in this thread But I need to know how first.

So if someone could help me that'd be awesome!

Here is a Wiki

Here is a Wiki site on Oblivion. It has almost everything to know about a Oblivion and that is A LOT:

I think that most people will only need to know the setting and get a picture of the mass of Cyrodiil (The world of Oblivion).

Anyone? No takers? Well it's only been a day so I'll be patient.

Late response?

I guess I may be far too late? I'd be interested, as a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series starting from Daggerfall. I know the lore well, too.

Hmmm

I don't really understand how we could've missed this topic. I'm very sorry non of us staffers have replied sooner.

If you want tips and tricks for online gaming, then the best advice I can give you is to read some of the forum games already here at the inn.

I've heard many good things about the Elder Scrolls games, and have bought one of them for Xbox some time ago. Haven't had time to play it yet, sadly.

So, until you know any specific questions, read the forums. But basically, an enthusiastic recruitment post will always find gamers.

Ooooh

Don't count me out for playing it.

Don't count me out for DMing it, either. ^^

EDIT: I noticed you mentioning your limited GM skill. I am similarly experienced, AKA not-at-all, so if I DID GM this eventual game... Hmmm.

yah

I would totally be up for playing. To DM it, I don't have the time or the experience, but I would love to play.

DMing

I have a lovely knowledge of Oblivion, and i wouldn't mind DMing.

Just a thought, will you want the campaign to be based on the games "main quest" or something different?

I would recommend not...

Nay. The plotline and fun parts will probably be known to all beforehand, making metagaming quite a bit easier.

Seems I may have been onto something.

I recognized, hence why I thought, and am led to still think, that I was right with my post saying I was a bite late to say anything.

asdf

Additionally I think HoC said he might be interested in DMing it. So there's that.

While we're on a recruitment thread, I should point out...

True, true. I'd like to point out I'm fully interested in playing, but I myself have never done this before, an online D&D/RPG session, that is. I've done plenty as a player and a DM in person, but not online.

Hmmm

I'd noticed, but the discussion it seems to have generated (a little later than expected) obviously means it's of some interest. ^^

Oh yes

Oblivion?! Oh yes -- I'd love to be apart of this game as a player.
Are specifics going to be hashed out in this thread, or on another one?
