Submitting New Avatars

How long does it take to get a notice of whether or not a new avatar has been accepted?

...We're a Pepper! Wouldn'cha like to be a Pepper, too?~

Hey, Doc! Welcome to the Inn, first of all...

Secondly, there's not a "set schedule" so to speak as to how long it takes for a submitted avatar to get approved... It's kind of a manual review and approve process so, basically, when our admins get a minute from their busy lives and have the chance to run through and approve the new submissions is about the best I can give you... All things considered, though... it doesn't take too long... a few days at the top end, I'd guess.

heh

It usually takes a few days, but cantake weeks. It's still a manual process, so it really depends on how often we "get around to it".

ok, thanks

But if my avatar gets rejected, i'd like to know it and i'd like to know why.

Thing is, i really don't like to use a public image for an avatar. And the image i normally use is specific to me (a dr pepper logo with dice for the 10, 2 and 4) so i don't want to submit it where other people might end up using it.

So as a compromise, i'm offering an old character drawing, suitably cropped and reduced. It suits me, but i wouldn't care all that much if someone else were to use it.

So until it gets accepted, i don't have an avatar. And if it's rejected, i'd appreciate knowing asap, so i can try to come up with something else.

again...

...we get to them when we have a chance to manually resize them. Unapproved avatars don't send out a message, sorry.

Please shoot me a PM describing the avatar you submitted - I'll be able to at least confirm the status for you.

heh

I re-read your post. That avatar submission is not in the queue, so it must have been deleted. Typically, the avs need to be RPG-related, but yours sounds like it could have been interpreted that way; you might try checking the image again and resubmitting.

For quickest approval, submit a rectangular avatar cropped to no more than 55 or so pixels wide, and no more than 65 or so pixels tall.

Thanks

I have resubmitted it. The image is 43x64. I have entitled it "Weary Veteran". It's a middle aged fighter leaning against a wall.

I'm not asking for special treatment, i just wanted to know how it works.
