It looks like I may be doing an interesting project for a client. I'd be setting up openfire instant messenger server for them, and then customizing the spark client with their branding and whatnot.

This is a mature, stable application - not some code that requires me to reinvent the wheel.

I wonder if anyone here would be interested in such a thing for the Inn?

By messenger client are you meaning like yahoo or msn type of thing integrated with the site? That would be pretty cool.

It would make it easier to have game related conversations with just one person and not have to give out your personal messenger Id. As an advocate of Internet safety that alone would be a bonus IMO.

the IM part... as far as the nudity goes, well, we better make sure its not webcam compatible. There is such a thing as too much information.

By mature, I meant code that had been around for awhile, used in multiple settings, etc. Dirty minded so and sos!

I don't know if it'll work or not for us - we'll see. I do have the green light to do this client project, so I'll know more once the install is done.
