I walk down the empty streets
The sky as clouded as my thoughts.
The air thickens around me,
Stealing the breath from my lungs.

The rain starts to fall from the grey blanket above
I whisper a silent prayer in thanks.
Tears start to flow freely from my eyes,
To the hungry earth below.

A shadow drifts across the path before me
A shimmer of light flares to life
Where the shadow had stopped upon the path.
Hazy blue eyes glance up slowly.

The smile of an angel flashing my way,
The eyes that look my way I could never forget.
The rain stops suddenly and the clouds clear from the sky.
A smile blossoms upon my lips as our eyes meet.

The angel has returned to me.
My Guardian Angel, and my heart.
I feel complete once again,
And together we walk towards our future.

I'm not much for poetry but this has emotion and strength behind it. The flow is a bit off in the middle, but other that that I liked it.
