These are inspired by the W.O.R.D.S game in the posting games forum. I was actually playing it with a friend, but got poetry feelings instead.



We are strange. We are bizarre. We do not conform to your norms.
Eternally out of the loop, you look down on us and our inability to keep up with your trends.
I ask only this, if it is such a crime to be different, to not dress and act like all of you,
Remind me again who it is that sets all these fads for you to take up as your own.
Doesn't someone have to deviate for you all to have someone to follow?

Sometimes I say things just to see if you will give me a funny look.
Troubling things, sad things, nonsense, and profound observations
Really I have normal thoughts like you, they just happen less often
Actually I have a bit of a confession about that.
Next time I say something bizarre, I wish you would say something back.
Generally I wish you were weird too. Just so I could have someone to talk to.

Next to you I know I look out of place.
Or maybe next to me it's you that looks out of place.
Really I think everyone is out of place.
Most people are unhappily going about lives they don't want.
Actually, I am glad that I look out of place.
Least I'm smiling.

Let's pretend for a moment that we're dead.
Is it a happy afterlife for you?
Funnily enough, I just wonder what the people I love are up to.
Eventually though, they'll be dead like us. Let's play Chinese Checkers.
