I just wanted to let everyone know here at the Inn that yesterday I received an email from YeOlde’s Wife.
In the email to me she expressed gratitude for continuing to keep my blog entry up even 1 year after his death and that she had read it and the comments posted many times.
Had even gained strength from them. She hoped that we had not forgotten him and felt that a part of him still rested within the Inn.
I responded that we had not forgotten him and that some of us who had known him best never would. I have to admit I had forgotten that this past Monday was the 1 year mark of his passing and am very embarrassed that it took his wife to remind me.
So this week maybe we can all have our own moment of silence to remember a great gamer............
My first real post on the Inn was in Demon Wind Recruitment thread, run by him. A few months later, I returned and joined the game, my first rules-based RP ever. Never spoke to him much, but that has nonetheless made an impression on me.
Ye Olde struck me as a kindred spirit immediately, so i was so pleased when he was able to join Rocinante...we had so little idea of how short a time we'd have together. I take comfort that our games here helped him through a difficult time, and we are all pleased to have a place we can call our virtual home.
I'll drink a toast to Ye Olde, tonight. Alacrity would join me , but he's playing tabletop tonight...so he's celebrating in his own way.
