Vertebrates

I must admit to lapsing into mental states of fascination with mundane things that everybody has such as fingers and jaws. I don't know why, but it sometimes strikes me just how awesome it is to be a vertebrate with a backbone which allows me to tower over the more humble creatures without backbones.

Then I think about how neat it would be to be an ant; I could lift things that are nearly dozens of times my own body weight and survive falls from two metres off the ground, all the while breathing through little holes in the side of my body.

I know it sounds strange, but...
