D&d 3.5 Campaign: The Dungeon

Hello there fellow inn-mates! I've been mulling and lurking, considering a new venture into the long honoured tradition of Dungeon Mastering! I have decided on a game I thoroughly enjoyed with my home grown gaming fellows, and I hope you might share in this twisty turvy scenario of mine.

The game will be very quick to start. 3.5 rules, standard point buy, level 1 characters. I know that might seem bothersome to a few of us, but I assure you the pace of levelling will be monstrously rapid... Though first there must be survivors.

There will be no call for a backstory as of yet. That will come as we go along. No items to buy, no skills to fill in (After a discussion with a fellow inn-mate, I've come to a different opinion on this. You may fill in your skills if desired, or pool them for levels to come. Either way can be beneficial.) To be clear it isn't a stripped down game, it just begins in an abstract way. Skills will be available for buy in upon successful rolls in that skill category.
There will be a few other variants added in, rapid crafting, massive damage, etc.

I will accept any and all character concepts from the published works, and perhaps others so long as I can find the material and agree with its rules. Haha. That said, the first thing I want to see is some interest. There won't be a lot of relevant background to divulge as of yet. The start of the game is meant to be a bit of a surprise.

I'll be looking to update weekly, and looking for thought out, well structured posts that highlight to personality of the character. I've been long removed from my most inspired of days, so I want to note I'm not looking for perfection. Just that good old college try. As long as we can dish out a few good relevant paragraphs, and keep our mechanics in check, I'm thinking we will spin quite the tale together. Looking forward to it!

Interested

I'm interested in this, simply put. I have an actual copy of the rules, so if I were to get confused I could just look it up.
The one thing I question is the whole idea of no skills or items to start off with. For some reason it just bothers me a bit, and I don't know why.

Going Bare.

It is notably different, and under any other circumstances I wouldn't recommend it. At least not the equipment bit. The skills are corellary to experience though. So it is relevant.

Standard Point Buy System

Is the starting number of points 25?

Yes

Concrete character creation rules are all I'm waiting on

Concrete character creation rules.

Point buy will be 30. Level one. Other than that, any basic class, including those from sources, any race that has a "as a character" stat list. For instance, one can be a Drow, but you won't level up for thrice as long. The CL adjustments will be applied.

Skills

Retooled my considerations for skill points in this game. I've edited the initial post to reflect upon that.

...

Any requirements for alignment or anything like that? Can I play absolutely anything that has "as a character" or level adjustment?

For clarification.

I want to keep this as a low level start to the campaign. I won't allow anything with an HD higher than 3. If you wish to add a template to an existing race, send me a pm. This is actually the safest way about it. If you send me a pm with an out there idea, I can give you a judgment before you spend too much time on the wrong track. I prefer to be open ended, just remember, it's meant to be low level to start.

Alignment.

Alignment is going to be an interesting issue. It will need to be on a case to case basis, but it is sufficient to say that I will not disallow any alignment. The individual will know more when their character is submitted. I will work on a Q&a for tomorrow.

Whelp

Whipping up a pseudo-skill monkey/base coverer.

Anyone else got any concepts together yet?
