Looking for your input on my potential input

So I want to run a game. Unfortunately that's as far as I've got. I do want interested players, so it makes sense to do something people are interested in. So I've got some options:

A) D&D Fantasy. Cookie cutter by the numbers RPing. Would be 3.5e because I'm a dinosaur, but a less dinosaur-y dinosaur then saaaaay...Olan. If enough previous players want me to reboot Fortune's Favoured or something, that works too.

B) Something superhero-y. Probably Mutants and Masterminds. Probably irreverent and inversely perversely wildly referential. I don't know what that sentence means, roll with it.

C) Something more freeform. Pandas? There could be pandas. This one's mostly for show.

D) I just keep playing tic-tac-toe with Brom in Q&A threads.

Probably looking for 4-5 players, I'd do the number crunching but familiarity with systems is always nice. Looking at around 1/week posts because I'm typing slower than ever before. Huzzah.

Anyhow lemme know.

Count me in

I'd be happy to add a game. D&D is my standard as it is what got me into role playing and what keeps me there, but I'm also open to experimenting with other options. Pandas? Well, I've never been a panda before, but I heard they have a pretty mean kung-fu kick.

I will weep salty tears of anguish in a never ending river of misery cascading into a waterfall of broken dreams if Fortune's Favored is dead.

Then I'll join your new game. Superhero's sounds fun. I'd be up for classic fantasy too though. It'll just be nice to have you running a game again.

Ok, here's a thought I had wile chatting with Jozan and Shield. Something I always wanted to do, and damn if it isn't the kinda thing I'd want Grugg to run.

I've been spending a bit too much time diving into homebrew classes lately. The themes are cool, but the recurring result is always 'Too Unbalancing'. But some of these things deserve to see play, just for the spectacle of it.

I don't know how much work it would end up being, but I'd love to have a campaign that was sort of high-fantasy Avengers. All of the characters are completely broken on their own. Together, they'd slaughter the standard campaign boss. But the villain is still so dang cool and overpowered, they're all necessary.

To clarify, yes. I'm asking to take on Draconic/Demonic/ExtraPlanar Thanos. It'd be a blast.

oooh

The over-powered team-up game would be a perfect excuse for gestalt characters!! With crazy powerful templates applied, like half-celestial or something!

Grugg! Holy Moses it's a miracle! I haven't been around much lately but Chess kindly sent me a message to let me know about this.

Well I'm in for whatever game you want to play. (Fortunes Favored though)

As if I needed too be reminded why I love this board, it's been what, 12 hours? You guys are the best. THE BEST. Da Bes.

Original FF Crew: Unless Inn-slang has evolved it seems you want to keep doing what we were doing. I want that too. Sympatico. We can more or less pick up where we left off. If people want to change characters we can work on that too, please discuss.

Tann, Shield and Nomad: I guess I'm running two games now. If you guys are game (and I get 1-2 more players, call your friends) I think it'd be super-dee-duper cool to run two separate games, in the same world, with different arc, possibly coalescing at appropriate times (because shared universes, so hot right now).

To the "unbalancing extraplanar Thanos rocket tag laser fight": That sounds pretty dope admittedly, and I'm willing to hear individual homebrews and changes but I would more or less like to keep it "in the rules", if only because for me personally, having limits on characters provides them chances to overcome those limits, and I believe there's currently enough "official" supplements to the game that if I dive deep enough I think I can help you build anything you'd like. My goal is to keep this going long enough to level to the point where the scale is global/extraplanar/Pandasinspace and I like the idea of being able to look back at the early parts of the story and say "Look how little we were" before one of you german suplexes a giant plane devouring hell-bear into a pair of twin suns.

Thoughts?

My personal feelings on FF are that we should do a time jump. After such a long time off it's all gone cold for me. A new arc with the same characters is what I would like to see.

Its funny, I was literally thinking about The Argent Blade yesterday and wondering if I could get away with writing a story about him. Turns out the answer is yes!

Personally, I'd prefer picking up where we left off. I reread the entire thread, and its got me hyped up again. I want to build our group's reputation one shaky, bumbling, completely mis-managed step at a time.

For clarity, there will be a bit of a time skip. Re-firing this engine will take a spark obviously, and I'll be putting you right back in the flow to hopefully get things moving and tear the rust off. It won't be much in game time but forcing people to remember where their head was at 2 years ago is rough. This also depends slightly on returning characters. 5/5 or 4/5 makes it easy. 3/5 and lower I get creative.

Creative means deadly, right?
