Re: Scale

ref Core Rulebook p.167 para1 (World Creation):

"Recommended scale is one parsec (3.26 light years) per hex"

Starting at para4 on the same page covers star mapping a sector w/ trade routes, worlds, jumps, etc.

Eliatris

I've been developing a new character (the creation system gives me a lot of inspiration, I think), an infiltrator-assassin type, using the Scoundrel book. Wanted to share with you people.

Here's a sketch I was doing earlier, without the full gear/armour, only some of the weapons:

broke the machine

I had a series of tests today, won;t know results for a week.

Some thought on the rules as I re-read them:

Aging effect - start at 34? Who wrote these rules? 18 years old. With modern science and the future I would say to double that before worrying about aging.

Dynamic Initiative - I am not a fan but I will try it out at first.

Like the combat system. Simple but effect and the vehicle/ship combat works well in my head.

Not sure how to smoothly intergrate Effect into the pbp game without it becoming clunky. Will think it over.

aging

The aging rolls start at 34, but effects from aging don't normally start until much older (unless you roll like crap). And there are anagathic drugs available to stop aging completely negating the effect of the roll

Crap rolls

I did roll a 0 on an aging roll... lost 1 Endurance, but it seems that has been retconned.

Edit: Also, I don't think anagathics negate the effects of previous rolls, they just delay your next (or first, if you take it before 34) aging roll until you stop taking anagathics, and the aging continues from then on.

...

Yeah they don't do anything about past rolls...

What they actually do is give you a positive dice modifier on the aging roll. Basically it negates the negative effect for that term. So if you start taking them right away then you don't suffer any aging effects... But they are expensive and you don't want to be without them

Like I said

Kinda silly. In this game, ignore aging unless your character crosses the 60 year mark.

Update

My computer fragged due to underpower from a brownout yesterday. I've got a laptop so my participation should not be impacted, but it is older now and a little bit wonky.

If I disappear you know why. I will be back though, new PC already on order. Insurance is great.

characters

You may now start sending me characters and I can look at them over the long weekend. I have also created a thread to post your characters for others to see.
