JJ... you have it the wrong way.

Okay... I just read your post JJ. Just a small thing. A lot of it's good... you just have the time in the wrong order. You can keep most of it, but just fix the time thing.

It's not when NDE ends... it's when it begins. Think of it as BC and AD. Cause remember... the dragons got sealed away in the war. You are currently living 63 years before all the dragons were sealed away. You are currently in 63 BC, everyone else is in AD.

Also, Badon is not a port city yet, though it is still rather active. Good idea to head there.

Sorry for the miscommunication.

Hmmm, okay ...

1 -- That clears things up a bit. but does that mean my character's particular journey spans 600+ years? Or am I "time-stop-encapsulated" until needed? I haven't a clue how to merge the disparate timelines -- yet.

2 -- I could re-write Gnurk's history and make his studies the result fo a long search in obscure places, without the benefit of a personal relationship with a dragon. this would put him on an "even keel" with the others, and on the same timeline, no?

3 -- Regardless, I'll pull the post for now. Too many unknowns to tie together for the current post to work. It's no problem. No harm, no foul. It's just that a 600-year gam is hard to justify with a short-lived half-orc ...

No no, I like your story.

Don't worry. I have a plan to make the jump. Trust the GM. Well, usually it's a good idea...

But seriously, don't re write the history. It's great.

OK

Do I know the Oi character? As is he the local moocher, trading stories and bits of information for food and drink? Is the pub one I normally frequent to ply my profession as a Bard.

My guess?

Answered already, so it's no longer a guess, but the rest will remain ...

From what I gather, Gnurk-Ogh's studies would have been done in seclusion with one of a race with a strained relationship with mankind (putting it mildly) ...

And, after 600+ years, any knowledge of him would be as obscure as that of dragons themselves, no?

That's my assessment anyway ...

I have been wrong before ...

History time! (WARNING: Learning Involved)

Alright, human history has documented the war between dragons and men. This being known, the past existence dragons is well known. So every single person, no matter who it is, is gonna know about dragons.

You on the other hand, are not a dragon. So therefore, people aren't going to see you walking down the street and go, "Look, it's Gnurk, the dragon student!" It's just not gonna happen.

History does tell stories of people learning the dragons secrets however, and even breeding with them. The two races DID used to get along. But exact knowledge is all but unheard of, and the breeding this is now rather difficult to find. Only a few families have dragon blood in them, and even fewer have both parents half-dragon.

Does this answer your question? So yeah, dragon knowledge isn't slim at all, but knowledge of you? That'd be slim.

Well Done everyone!!!

I think I'm missing a post from Dragon Mistress and Falas...

But I'm also missing two sheets from Jozan and Dragonblood.

But to those who have posted, well done! I'm liking this, and it's only just starting.
