Thanks you all each for you prayers, and well wishes regardless of your beliefs.

The Doctors had given up on her a week ago. They said it was just a waiting game now, and asked me if I would consider removing her ventilator. I would not. I said what determined her life was her brain function and as long as that remained I was not pulling the plug.

Rather miraculously she is still here and making some small improvements so much so that the doctors talked about letting her ear real food and getting her up and mobile. She has a long road yet to walk I and her mother and there with her and with the blessing of the Supreme Being or Ideal--however, you conceive him/her to be and the prayers, and well wishes of friends, family and all of you, I hope to see her come home. She is my identical twin.

Hopefully my card makes it there soon! Good to hear some good news.

Just popping in here for a moment, but wanted to thank you, Brianna, for your update. I pop in found time to time to check to see how DM is doing.

I've only been checking rdinn periodically of late, and didn't realise DM was so ill.

I'm so sorry to hear that, and do hope she pulls through.

Any news, Brianna?

Roller coaster ride right now. She was taking small steps forward, off ventilator,then off Bipap mask to high flow nasal tube but then went backward to the mask unable to get enough oxygen. She was gradually beginning to talk but it was very breathy and hard to hear IT frustrates her that she cannot communicate easily. e are using hand gestures and going through the alphabet to work They had to use BP medication again to support hit BP but are weaning her off it gradually and she is hold slightly higher number 108/52 on good days.

The little steps of improvement give us hope. The backwards steps are difficult.

How about a white board with all the letters and common words written on it - then give her a laser pointer or teacher's pointer?

Ehhh... those slips must be hard, but hang onto the improvements. Still keeping the positive karma thoughts out there.

Update. Two small steps forward, DM is off all BP medications and maintaining a low but stable blood pressure. She is off the BiPAP mask and only only a high flow nasal oycen tube. She is still very ill some of it caused by th4 medications that cut off blood floe to her feet. They are monitoring that, but she may lose them both. I am praying that she doesn't
