yep
I have what I need from you, Hammer.
Also, an official welcome to Brundel, who will now be playing the role of rogue.

roster change
Well, a piece of bad news. Duncan just contacted me to say that his workload is just too silly, and he's not going to be able to play with us in Hidden Evil. Too bad, I was looking forward to a Vidirak fighter.
That puts us back down to six. Considering that the extra pickup is a warrior, I think that I'm just going to stand pat with my original plan of a six member party.
It definitely does put a different flavor on this, though; the majority of the party will now have sylvari blood (three full blooded, one half blood). Also, both of the warriors are female.
Yay statistics!

Well Now
The loss of Duncan and his insightful and provocative characterizations gives the rest of us Players a challenge to raise the bar with our collective postings!

Silly Statistics
First thought: "Never tell me the odds"
Second thought: The party front line is now a bladesinger and a shield maiden. Both female. Both Sylvari. How does that even happen in a Human Kingdom?
Third thought: Nanowrimo is quite the distraction
Fourth thought: I still haven't officially named Miss Shield Maiden.
That's a lot of thoughts.

heh
+3 internets to you for a Han Solo quote being the first thing in your head.
Also, all of those thoughts are why we love you, no?
And yeah, with so many sylvari (to say nothing of team estrogen playing the tank roles), I'm thinking that the backstory of this group must be pretty interesting.

also...
I am SUCH a nerd. When I see three or four of my players logged in at a given time, I get a little thrill.

Backstory indeed!
Can hardly wait to hear it!
Why are my first thoughts going to that "We're just a couple of misfits" song?

hrm
Are we talking about the one from the claymation Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer?
If not, it's in my head now, anyway.

backstory
Just to get us thinking on this a bit...
We have three sylvari in the party. Two of them have a natural connection - Jarenion (Eol's mage) has a younger sister at Megilindar Nost, where she is training to be a bladesinger.
Vanadia's character, En'Aranthea, is a bladesinger.
Now, the training process is very long, but it's quite possible that En'Aranthea may have known this sibling, or have at least heard the name. Of course, Vanadia's character has been adventuring for at least a year or so, so depending on the timeframe, this may not be the case.
This is the kind of detail that brings life to a game... and is the kind of detail that you guys need to decide.

Indeed!
I added the bit about Jarenion's sister training to be a bladesinger in order to "open up possibilities" where the "how did this group come together" question may arise with the idea that En'Aranthea might have known our mage's sister (or her name at least) and that led to those two, at least, to begin adventuring together... buuuut I also left things ambiguous enough to go other routes, as well. I can work with most anything.

Not Sure
Where Galardil met up with the others, as he was searching for his lost brother as he headed north initially from the Southern Elf Kingdom.
I am open for whatever possibilities are presented here by the other Players!

Well...
...initial thoughts that come to mind there, Hammer, are:
- Jarenion is from the Northern kingdom...
- the Bladesingers Keep is in the south...
- Jarenion could have been traveling N to S to see about little sister and encountered your character going the other way
...things happen, alliances are formed, yadda yada yada.
