I am interested - never done an urban game. However, I know it would take me a few days to get a character up and running. I think I have seen three committed so far.

And with Nomad that makes 4 earning us a Q/A thread. I'm gonna transfer the characters over there. I'm also open for another player or two and you have your couple of days Nomad as I will likely post the intro over the weekend like saturday or sunday and can slip you in when your character is complete.

Ok, I'm beginning to put together a character - I was thinking of a cleric or rogue, since we already have one spellcaster and two fighter-types. Clerics are not usually my thing, but I'm pretty sure I can make one fit here. So a cleric it is.

What sort of mythos am I looking at for a deity?

Also, I have the basic 3.5 books (PH, MM and DMG) but nothing else. If there is a book with interesting stuff for clerics - subclasses, spells or whatever, that I should look at, please let me know so I can look it up. Right now things will probably be fairly basic.

Complete Divine, Complete Champion, and (to some extent) Complete Warrior would be the published resource... though the benefit of the Cleric is that it's pretty awesome straight out of the box.

Nomad let's go with the basic mythos in the PHB unless you have a mythos you'd prefer. I know my fair share of mythology and would enjoy playing with various gods. Ayrn hit up most of the books for cleric also there's Deities and Demigods.

The PH actually allows a cleric that isn't dedicated to a god but to a cause. I thought I would do that.

Deity: Not dedicated to a specific deity - dedicated to helping those in need, especially those being oppressed by the more powerful and the evil. Pelor is favored, but not specifically targeted as a god.

Still looking to see if Pelor even gets a mention. Probably won't mention any god.

Also, is it possible to get a brief description of the town we will be in? I'm thinking that Heironymus (the cleric's name) will be from that town and have been working to help the poor - and realizing that more is needed. But elements of his story and character development would depend on the city - the climate and general environment (is there a river, harbor, mountains, whatever?) might affect how he has and will go about attempting to save the downtrodden.

I'm swamped with work this particular weekend. If you're so close to starting, by all means, don't delay on my account, as I cannot promise how long it would take me to create the character. I can join later, or just be happy reading the game.

I'd love to play, and can guaranteea post a week mostly, but the next day or two is just kinda murky for me right now. Apologies.

Sorry Vesper with Chessicfayth I already picked up my +1. I'm looking more for an Avenger's type team than a Justice League and seven players is really just too many. If I get an opening you'll be the first to know, in the meantime if you're looking for another game I believe Souleater was looking for some players in "let's play a game."
