Background: Her father killed her mother in front of her eyes at a young age and she was raised by a family friend, whose son Andrew and Kate have taken quite an unspoken liking to each other. She left them recently to try to forge her way on her own. Her powers were a secret only she knew, but when her father murdered her mother, trauma sent them into oblivion, and she was powerless for a long while. She is finally getting acclimated to them once more, shakily, but is still mentally unstable, though the symptoms are not easily seen at all.
