And Have worked together in the past.. it would be known that Daldren Gray has a keen eye for traps and the like. but he is Very Far from the skulking Thieving rogue type stereotypically assosciated with having such skills... He considers them part of the required skill set of any good Bodyguard.

Can the 13,000 be used on magical gear? Can it be used on enchancements to the free gear? Ie if I get +2 chain.. can I spend 4,000gold on making it +3, or some other +1 bonus?

Actually.. the 2 magic items I have give everyone. are free. you can purchase more with your starting gold.. but no item can have more than a +2 bonus.

Is a scout a fighter-type? I made a 6th level elven scout. If I have a +2 bow can I also get +1 or +2 armor for free?

Another question is a reg shian mail shirt is +4 MAx dex. If made MIthril and hald the weight shouldn't it allow for greater MAx Dex bonus +5 or +6 because it is less encombering?

Yes. If you make a chain shirt Mithril, the Max Dex Bonus becomes +6.
