There are two doors, you are correct. The door you were intending to open was the same one Riaharan opened. Why didn't you open it? Another player explicitly said that he blocked you.
After that, Riaharan shoved him out of the way (with words of course) and opened it himself. As I said, less posting means less actions. You're welcome to make your feelings known now though. Kick Siegfried, Addy needs a good kick every once in a while.
Yes, the tree did snap in just the right place it seems, but things are about to get a whole lot worse for you all shortly.

Search?
The search of the entrance room yielded no results...of course, it is rainy, loud, and there are twigs and sticks everywhere, so it's not an easy search at this point.

RealStGeorge
Confusion is understandable at this point as every member of the party is doing different things. Let me try to explain.
The entrance room has two wooden doors and the cave entrance which was covered by a boulder, and is now covered by trees. This is where Roy is standing.
Valerick is now standing in front of the CLOSED door directly opposite the entrance.
Riaharan opened the door to the right and then searched the entrance room (that's what I understood the wording of your post to mean).
EDIT AGAIN: StGeorge I apologize. I may have misread your post as well. I'll be sure to get it all cleared up in my next post for you.
Tram has now moved into the room on the right with the OPEN door and started searching.
Siegfried is just standing in the doorway on the right watching this occur at the moment.
EDIT: I misread Addy's post, Siegfried is ALSO by the closed door, not the open one.
Make sense? I can pull out a map for you guys.

small request
If it's not too much trouble, can we either type in third person or put your characters name in the subject. It's a bit hard keeping everyone separate this early in the game.
Thanks!

Map is good
As my subject reads, yeah a map would really help out. Especially if it points out where all the bad guys and traps are, you know like in the video games... Just kidding.

Ok, post is up. I'm trying not to hit you Roy, but you haven't moved and I'm not moving you unless the party decides to move as a unit...I gave you multiple saves too!!!
Riaharan is now dangling from a door handle over the pit. It's a rough climb check to pull yourself up by the handle...very rough (door handles rotate).
Tram, no other traps or doors as far as you can tell.
Siegfried and Valerick. It's getting dangerous in there. You need to find a solution fast.

Roy
Sorry about all that, my computer had a hard-drive failure. Afraid I'm going to have to drop out, it hasn't gotten fixed yet, I'm writing this at a friends house.

Search Checks, etc.
I'm just wondering what I can and can't take 20 with. Legally, I supposed to be able to take 20 with a search check for example if my character "took enough time." And this applies to listen checks, disable device, etc. But every DM is different and every DM is god, so I just wanted to know where you stand.

Two notes
Yes, you can take 20, but I need you to specify.
And DMs are not god. There are a number of gods, and I control them too. So that makes me......well, in charge that's what!

Thanks, I guess
Well, the arrow was worth a shot. Not much I can do in the present situation. By the way, how many hit points did I get off that potion? Also, does it seem to dangerous for Riaharan to just drop back into the water and just tread water until the water rises so he could climb out.

Good luck
4 hp, putting you at 8. And he might be ok, he might not. The water hasn't risen enough (as far as you can tell) for it to be a safe fall though.

DM
I just got an IM from our DM, who is currently without a keyboard. Since he can only type by copying and pasting letters, I suppose he won't be posting for a while. He doens't know for how long either.
Told me to pass on the news.
Edit: He said he'll post tomorrow

Making a tightrope
I'm still waiting to hear if my character would think this is a stupid idea. He's not stupid and he has used a rope plenty of times befoere. I'm sure he's dragged plenty of stuff with a rope, or held back a donkey with one, or something. He still won't do it, if it seems like a ridiculous idea. Also if anything did go wrong, he'd let go before he'd go in.
I'm saying all this because I know you're itching to kill us. And for the record, if it was my character who fell in the pit, he would have climbed up any of the other sides except for the one with a small edge. I'm just asking to keep that in mind if any other common sense things come up. I would hate to accidently exclude some simple detail I figured was obvious and then get killed for it.
